Find a Grave says: Roger Moore died May 23, 2017 at the age of 89. He was married 4 times and had children. Actor. He inherited the role of British spy “James Bond, 007” from Sean Connery, beginning with “Live and Let Die” (1973) and concluding with “View to a Kill”. His father was a police officer (bobby), his mother was a homemaker, Roger took a liking to art and painting during his youth. He later found his interest in acting and enrolled at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, where he studied Drama. He initiated his professional career as a performer with minor roles on the London stage and during his time of National Service with the British Military, shortly after the end of World War II, he served with an entertainment unit in Germany. Moore briefly worked as a model for a number of publications, while gradually working his way into British television. Among one of his first roles of substance was in the 1950 TV-Movie “Drawing-Room Detective”. He alternated between films and television and during the later part of the 1950s, he played ‘Sir Wilfred Ivanhoe’ in the TV series “Ivanhoe” (1959 to 1960). This was followed by his part as ‘Silky Harris’ in the American TV program “The Alaskans” (1959 to 1960). He became a familiar presence to American TV audiences when he played ‘Beauregarde Maverick’ in the series “Maverick” (1959 to 1961)......................etc.

I always think it's a bit sad that in every reboot, sequel, comeback, whatever you call it, the focus was always Bret Maverick, but Brother Bart was rarely if ever mentioned. Bart Maverick was just as much Maverick as Bret.
