I am British but with many relatives in Mauritius. When we visit Mauritius they all want to come to UK to work but they don't appreciate just how expensive it is here. This video is very informative. Well done for highlighting the problems. I wish I could show it to them.

Im born and raised in London but I have family in Mauritius. A few months ago, I moved from my home in London to Mauritius. It is ok, but it is still hard to adjust to the Mauritian way of life (as these Mauritians are with London). However, at the end of the day you do have to realise that setling down in ANY country would be hard at first but you have to make the effort to do so.

I think this video is very informative and conveys alot of useful information, especially towards Mauritians who are thinking about coming to the UK. My cousin will be coming here to study and I will definitely e-mail this video to her so that she can obtain a true insight as to what life is like here. Well done! :-)

Also Mauritians that I meet in public especially the student ones think that they are more British than the British when they meet other Mauritians. Also back home when I was on holiday they all seemed to want to rip me off taxis, clubs, shops etc luckly I understood them so I managed to bargin a deal with them.Maybe you should do a documentary on 'Why do UK Mauritians get ripped off when they go back home on holiday by everyone!'

Excellent documentary, but as some of the previous people have mentioned its all a one sided opinon, you should interview some UK Mauritians. I'm a UK Mauritian that has experienced both sides of life, living in Mauritus and the UK. Some Mauritian students that I know that use to work for me were really hard workers and I treated with so much respect but 3 of them seemed to have a hidden agenda in the end they disappeared without trace only to find them in a Mauritian party.

Liked the video, topic, editing etc although i thought it Should have had a few views from British born Mauritians and why they are so up there own arses. - Life is a hard grind and i guess when Mauritians come to the UK the hard reality hits them that no one gives a shit about anyone and no one trusts anyone. The helping mauritian is reduced to looking out for number 1,Its what the UK does to you.

Another comment .. if we fought to be independent from the british why are we running away from the country now??? Its so sad that we were past british colony and now we(mauritians) are systematically refused entry to England... When they needed us they used us and our country so much ... when they are finished with us they throw us.. and we thought Independence would be Freedom... well we are very much disappointed now

5 zetoiles pou sa video la. I am in US studying and it's not that different here, 4 years ago immigration was not as severe but it is now. I think the real issue is the brain drain happening in mtius, everyone leaves and does not come back. This actually affects mtius even more. You have to be the change you want to see in others. Mone koner mo per cause bel coser mais bon...

andrewh09 may have a point albeit terse, I'm mauritian but playing the victim doesn't get you anywhere. i've south american friends who as students have 2-3 jobs on the go so that they can succeed, nothings easy in life sounds like some of the mauritians in the vid are feelin sorry for themselves, go home then!
