Dr Zivago is a true masterpiece. The good old days of movie making with true professional actors and actresses. There would be no movies to be made like this anymore.

IMHO, I think "Barry Lyndon" (1976) was probably the the last real film of the same magnitude. If there is any more I would like to know. P.S. don't include the "Titanic that was an actual event dumbed down to a love story.

Agreed, and it did not hold back much on the horrors of Bolshevism, a lesson to be learned from history about state propaganda and state endorsed terrorism with control through fear. Can we see anything that would parallel this today as an instrument of fear?

Saw this movies back in the 60’s I think when I was a kid. To this day it still brings back fond memories!!

Yesterday i realised im getting old..this period of muzik . These movies left with oyr chkidhood and young desires..just left...but im happy ..i saw them.i listened to this legend

My mom loved it too after she saw it. She particularly loved Lara’s Theme. I gave her quite an ornate jewelry box that had a music box in it that played that song. I think she really liked it because she used it from then on.

A timeless classic A moving theme so well orchestrated and of course two beautiful actors who should have won an award for great acting

When this film was released in South Africa there was an age restriction. Somehow my parents smuggled me in, and since then I watched it over 10 times and never tires, what a classic, brings back good memories.

One of the greatest movies ever made. This last scene is so heart-rending.

To this day I shed tears everytime I hear this beautiful piece of 🎶 music. With or without a lyrics.

Doctor Zhivago was in my opinion, the greatest film ever. A great story line. Magnificent photography and background music that enhanced rather than distracted the images.

Dec 6th 1971 was the Day my Wife and I were Married and this was our Signature Tune... we're both still together but She is now in a Home...I can still vividly see Her in Her Russian Styled Long Fur lined Cossack Coat and Hat / Gloves and Boots...I never tire looking and listening to that Movie and it still brings a Tear to my Eye....

I have a one too that was my mothers , I just went on KZread to watch the trailer to the movie , not sure where my mom got the jewelry box , it might of even been my fathers and given to him by his mistress , who knows.

I remember when I saw this movie. I was so young and could not understand why such lovers could be separated by a harsh destiny. The way they met. It was ment to happen, why then be separated? It's a part of life that sometimes is inexplicable. But love, true love, never ends, it lives for an eternity.

Посмотрите "Тихий Дон" снятый по одноименному роману Михаила Шолохова режиссер Урсуляк. Именно в его постановке, есть еще режисера Герасимова(там очень красивые актеры).

I was 11 and my mom took me to see it twice at matinee showings after we had seen it with the whole family.

Still one of my favourite pieces of music. Takes me back in time when I was in love.

I still remember the first time I saw Dr. Zhivago. HOO BOY did that film gut me. Epic cinema.

The saddest feeling for me is so sure that we can never make such a great movie in this world any more. And can't find so great actor and actress again. That golden time had gone long ago. We can't call it back except deep nostalgia remains.

As a young man I worked in a classics theater. This movie must be watched 40 feet wide with four channels of stereophonic sound pushed by RCA tube amplifiers, 15 inch Altec cabinets and Shearer midrange horns. Magic missing when viewed on a tablet. It was glorious.

I saw this film as a little girl & was blown away, so much so that when I was in hospital following surgery, I requested the theme music from Dr Zhivago on Alder Hey’s own Sunday radio show. It was read out & the DJ commented on such an unusual request for a 9 yr old & played Lara’s theme. All the kids were laughing, even a few of the adults were too. I was so embarrassed at first, then the ward went quiet & everyone listened. It was magical. And the shy little girl was redeemed! This is a masterpiece ❤️

What a Film? Will be remembered for a very long time for it's somewhat unorthodox story. Acting was superb. Fortunate to see OMAR close quarters few decades back. A Legend!

L'arrangiamento delle melodie russe molto riuscito con l' esecuzione dell'orchestra strumetale nello stile tipicam ente russo. L' autore ha dato qualcosa di piu' al folclore russo. Quando ascolto questo brano mi viene da piangere.

Hermosa película, tema de Lara, una época dorada del cine,obras maestras que no veremos más,grandes producciones, una tras otra, nunca veremos algo así, Doctor Zhivago, que encantador era Omar Sharif, esos ojos, esa mirada tan dulce, la Vi siendo una niña,y no puedo olvidarme de ella!

Julie Christie is still with us. Some may argue she's not a great actor, but her contribution is essential.

"Saw it in '65 @ the small Trail Movie Theatre & that experience still survives today; the exquisite combination of writing, cinematography, music, actors bringing it all together thru the incredible performances of Ms Julie Christie & Mr Omar Shariff when one particular "private conversation" between their characters is still so truly romantic as "she says (during the Russian Revolution in '17?) Oh Juri what a terrible time to be alive! and he, holding her in his loving arms and looking into her beautiful blue eyes says oh no my love what a great time to be alive! ( ok, I admit it I still I still have a crush for her ) I think I put this great motion picture right up there w/THE NOTEBOOK ( & yes, I am an old romantic from previous life?) Namaste🤔🦁⚘🙄🙂😘😎

What a beautiful lady and the music is wonderful and her and Dr. Zhivago made a beautiful couple. One of the best movies ever up there with Gone With The Wind.

Years ago, I made a music box for high school shop class that had a little ballerina continuously spinning to this piece. That's the main thing I think of anymore when anyone brings up Dr. Zhivago.
