Great start to the WSL WCT !!! The new guys did well too. Some incredible surfing this contest. It was one of the best I've seen in years. Even in the Roxy for the girls some of the best surfing seen in years. So Happy for Owen and his comeback. His head injury was pretty horrifying and we as surf fans are very lucky to have him back and so releaved that his injury healed. GRATS OWEN!

amazing how owen came back from injury god bless him and his amazing family. What a trooper.

What's remarkable is the sportsmanship these Australians show in supporting each other. Mick Fanning too. Fine examples for the rest of the world. Winning is important, but value your friendship is eclipses that by a long shot.

Way to go Owen!!! It's great to see him at the top of his game again following his brain injury. Wilko surfed great all contest and while he would have loved the win, he had big smiles for his good friend Owen.

Yea this was the perfect final for the start of this season. I'm super wilko fan (even BEFORE that badass year he had last year). Owens perfect 10's in one heat two years ago made me an instant fan of his surfing, He's a CHARGER.... Looks like this season is going to be an EPIC one. The new crew that came up from the Qualifying are just dam polished and already surfing like PRO's. Going to be an epic WCT this year. edit: Oh yea here's how big a Wilko fan I am. I bought a blue O'neil wetsuit and we put PINK ? marks all over it with permanent markers... didn't look at good as the one he had but got the point across, hahaahaha I only used it for one winter.. still have it though... lmao!

Not so impressed with this finals. Two guys doing one move the entire day, surfing is going to crap!
