Im not the kind of person to look up actors, voice actors etc. But after watching crit role and then going back or playing new games I can immediately point them out now, even if its a far stretch from their normal voice. I was watching attack on titan at one point and it hadnt clicked until about 8 eps in that Matt is levi.

I think Jack's too hard on himself about voice acting. One of my favorite videos of his, that I go back and watch every so often, is the end of Night in the Woods, when Mae has this little monologue. It's a cold read, Jack's never seen that dialogue before, but he puts so much heart into it and he knows Mae so well from doing her voice throughout the game, that I cry every time I watch. I don't think that game would've made such an impact on me without his voices, and I always read the dialogue in my head with the voices he chose.

Wait- WHAT?! HE PLAYED KIRITSUGU!? Well dang! And to think I’ve watched Fate Zero like, 3 times already. Iskandar, Kiritsugu, and the master of Berserker (his name is slipping my mind atm) are easily my top 3 characters of that show. So now knowing Mr. Mercer voices one of them is definitely more appreciation for the dubbing he did. I’ll have to see what else he dubbed that I enjoy, and which ones he’s in that I havent seen yet.

I hope Matt knows I think hes absolutely the coolest, and most relatable famous person, but also so cool he becomes unrelatable, and I am now terrified to meet him in person, because his kindness intimidates me, and I am unworthy of it.

I really love how at the end the interview mode just completely shuts off, they start talking about thia place he found in sweeten, and juat shoot the shit for like an extra bonus 5 minutes. Really, really human and I love it.

Oh I feel you. I have an even more ridiculous version of this. As a reward for a Kickstarter (Muzzled the Musical) I had a game night with a bunch of actors that worked on the project, one of whom was Matt Mercer. I had no idea who he was. He was so nice and later I looked him up and discovered Critical Role. Imagine my levels of “I’m an idiot” after having had a game night with Matt Mercer not knowing who he was....

Will Leary it was super embarrassing when I looked at his IMDB and realized he had done SO MANY of the voices I loved in games and anime. But also, meeting him got me into CR really early (like right before the Trial of the Take in C1) so that’s pretty great. Plus at the VIP signing at the first live show he remembered me and gave me a hug so that was awesome. So yeah, jealous of me and sad for me is probably the appropriate reaction 🤣

Jack NEEDS to make a podcast holysh*t. His natural skill for interviewing is phenomenal.

Watching this is SUCH a reminder of what Sean was speaking of when he said he needed a break to pursue other things he was passionate about, I love content like this where you get to peel away the persona you know the person for and really see other passions. Just watch two of my favorite people talk over wine about life is seriously one of the coolest things. We love you Sean, take as long as you need!

Yes. PLEASE. If he can just get the chance to hang with them all for a few hours before show, not come flight-to-set. Just, have talked a bit. I think that's been a big thing with *all* guests, imo, that the ones who know the group make for better guests (I think from the guests' perspective, too - it's pretty dang hard to just be in someone's game suddenly and not feel like you're intruding). I worry Jack might, if not comfortable, either really tone it down and take a step back to where he might even come off as shy (as he's said people soemtimes tell him irl after only having seen his videos) and not play much; or he might, on the other side of the scale, come off as taking up too much space - to the annoyance of Critters who don't know or like him. Which would be sad, because I think he could have some great chemistry with the cast and that it could be a top-notch episode everyone could enjoy! :3

It was a weird moment in my life where I first started watching critical role and thought “damn the dm sounds familiar” only to realize that matthew mercer has sort of been a really big part of my childhood and in general, my whole life. Thanks for making such a fun childhood, Matt!

How did KZread not recommend these interviews to me earlier, holy crap! I love how genuine you are as an interviewer, it's something hard to find in this era. Keep up the great work!

I could listen to Matt talk all day long EDIT: Knowing how Matt feels about himself and then hearing him describe how and why his fave comic book character is Nightcrawler really hits home for me, I deal with the same things and it was eye opening to listen to.

simply the way this man carries himself, the hand motions, all the little nuances, he could narrate anything and everything

I'd love to see Jack on Critical Role, even if it's just a one shot. :D

16:30 Absolutely true. I love Matthew, but when I played through Titanfall 2's Campaign, I only realised he voiced the *main character* not until the credits!

I relate so much to Jack's constant shifting in his seat. The ADD feels haha. Gotta say though, he is one hell of a great interviewer. He bypassed all the normal questions since he's been asked them a million times and knows how that goes and really got to a great natural conversation. Super awesome. I haven't seen one of his vids in a looong time (my bad) so it's awesome to see he's doing so well! Shout out to the other critters!
