@@WilliamSnakeSpeare you need to figure out what ghost it is, at the hand of evidence and without dying. the name will anger the spirit, which can help you find evidence. the ghost also has moments where it will become aggressive and they are called 'hunts'. you can survive them, you just need to know what to do. the thing you can do is hide.

a few tips : ON the radio, if the ghost starts to say "death, kill, attack" that means it is getting ready to/already HUNTING When the ghost HUNTS it picks a player to chase and attempt to kill. When the lights and flashlights repeatedly flicker, find a closet and hide in it and do not speak in voice chat, stay silent. That is your best chance of survival. If you hear heartbeats, -DO THE PREVIOUS STEP FASTER-, this means YOU are a target, if the ghost touches you, you will die Depending on the ghost, more then one or even everyones heart will beat, meaning the ghost only wants the first one it catches. First step I usually take, is keep any closet you come across in mind for hiding, then set up equipment. some ghosts kill faster, some not at all. the DEMON and MARE are two of the fastest killers, as they hunt very frequently. however the MARE only hunts fast if the PLAYERS are in the dark. [Nightmare anyone?] the SPIRIT and SHADE are some of the slowest, the spirit is the most common ghost, and the shade is very shy. ONI also hunts rather fast, but not as fast as the DEMON no matter the ghost, saying its name will anger it, the more you say it, the more likely it will spook you, or even attack. Even SHADES get pissed at this! You do not have to say the ghosts name in a question, simply asking "are you here" or "are you near" are fine, saying its name only provokes it so it can speak, which is normally not needed if you found the room it is mainly haunting.

It would be absolutely brilliant if, when a player dies, they can affect ouija boards, spirit boxes, etc. I mean, they ARE designed to be affected by ghosts, after all....

Keep coming back to this vid for a laugh, your the best Jack! On a completely different note, I was doing some thinking lately about how much Bob sounds like Edwards VA from the modern Thomas and friends CGI series. Though in the cartoon Edward is mostly a calm and wise individual. Now recently I've started to think about how he would sound if someone did or said something that was so funny to him that Edward would just start laughing hysterically, loud and long, and I think Bobs laugh here 21:40 would be what it might have sounded like if it had happened in the show, just something I thought about.

Can confirm. Almost died and I felt so much peace

here's some information/tips if you're going to play some more: when your flashlight flickers the ghost has gone into 'hunting mode' in this mode the doors are locked and the ghost is coming to kill you. in this situation you will need to find a closet or a corner in a room to hide in (preferably not the ghost's room) and you will need to turn off your flashlight and stay completely silent because the ghost uses your voice to find you. (also your walkie talkie won't work during hunting)

Also there’s a ouija board they can find an use to see where the ghosts is located, you can turn on light switch rooms but some ghosts like being in the dark and like talking to someone solo! If you ever see white puff looking smoke it’s your cold breath which accounts for freezing temps! Take pictures of the ghosts is you can! Use sage or salt to protect yourself from ghosts (you can see in your journal which will need which) and using a crucifix helps deter the ghost from that room you’re in but make sure to throw the crucifix on the ground because it won’t quite work in your hand!!!

What's a fall guy?

Some tips for anyone who needs/wants it, and more by other helpful people in the replies!! :) -Identify the ghost area as quickly as possible and place a *crucifix* to keep them from hunting for a longer amount of time. -If it is put into *hunting mode*, have the *incense* nearby the ghost and thus slow down the ghost to be able to hide before it kills you. -Always keep the *flashlights on* to realize that if they flicker, a *hunting phase* has begun . -Hide in *rooms or closets* and *keep quiet* *(remember that it has voice recognition and it will go where you are)* -When passing the hunting mode, *continue in silence* and *do not run*, go to the exit but always take into account where to hide *(Closet, lockers, and bathrooms)* in case another hunting phase begins. -*Never* go to the exit while the hunting phase is in progress, as the door is *locked* and you will *not* be able to leave. -Keep in mind that you will only have *8 seconds to hide .* -If you stay in *illuminated* areas for a long time, the ghost can also come after you. -The ghosts also focus on those who interact with them the *most*, this is thanks to voice recognition, *be careful with what you say and don't talk too much.* -What can happen from time to time is that you encounter your *doppelgangers*. While you used to only see copies of your player models walking around, these have now been given new textures and therefore look like zombie versions of you, which makes them easier to identify.

The reason for not going to the front door during a hunting phase is not just because the door is locked, but also because that's always the first location the ghost checks. The ghost reportedly chooses a target between the one who loiters in the light the longest, the one with the lowest sanity, and/or the one who's been calling its name the most. If you qualify in all three of those fields then congratulations, the ghost wants your head on a fucking plate. Get out.

Some ghosts only hunt when people are by themselves, or in a group. Also, crucifix can only effect the ghost in its hunting phase twice now.

About: - Always keep the flashlights on to realize that if they blink, a hunting phase has begun If you hit 0% sanity they will blink only for you, making that mechanic not reliable.

Snarkys 10 Friendly Tips: 1.) Don’t say the ghosts name right away. Just ask the entity questions. 2.) The crucifix keeps the ghost from hunting, but it must be placed before the hunt begins. It protects the player within a 3 meter radius. 3.) Lights don’t have to be off in order to use the spirit box properly. Demon, and Jinns typically respond quickly to these. 4.) Take pictures of Ouija boards, Bones, and Voodoo dolls for extra cash 💵. Ouija board has to be glowing to get the money. 5.) Dirty water is only activated by the entity, not the player. Saying,” Show me a sign” usually does the trick. You’ll hear the water turn on. 6.) Place Salt at the top of stairs or hallways to track foot prints. You can only see the foot prints with the UV light ( It doesn’t count as evidence) you do get extra money by taking pictures of the foot prints 🦶🏻. 7.) If your Flashlight 🔦 is flashing while your radio is extra staticky the ghost is hunting. It’s in your room, or is pursuing you if you hear a heart beat. If you didn’t lay the crucifix down before the hunt it WILL KILL YOU! If you don’t have the crucifix find a place to hide, and turn off your light. Don’t speak. It will eventually go away. 8.) Ghost orbs can only be seen on the video recorder 🎥 (make sure the green light is on) Live video feed can be seen from mission control trailer. Using night vision you’ll be able to see them. 9.) When you progress further into the game, and you have more equipment be sure to place items by the main entrance. This will save the team time. That way if you need to run to grab something it’s much closer. 10.) Obviously getting pictures of the ghosts gets you money 💵. However, a sure way of getting a photo is setting up in a corner of a room, or the end of a hallway with a crucifix placed at your feet. Then when the ghost is hunting it will come towards you you can get multiple shots, and the entity will vanish. ( Not 100% if the crucifix works on all of them) Hope that helps new players! Fair warning: when the lights flicker, the door locks, the Van's reader spikes to 10, and the ghost becomes visible, it means the ghost is hunting and you need to HIDE (quiet, lights off, and in a closet or a corner or something)

Do not hide in a corner. The ghost only stops pursuing you when you break line of sight. Best thing to do is get into a closet, locker, or separate room.

The Lonely Spectre ah alright. As in its re appeared but you don’t know where it is. I love the fact as well when you hear the whisper noise I believe it means it’s around you. On one of the maps/levels I believe that noise plays when it runs past the window

After Jack died I kept yelling, "Do your tasks!"

I love the mechanics of talking in this game - the further away you are, the quieter all of the voices are. And talking through the walkie-talkie actually feels like you're using it. I love it
