It's impossible to gather competitive data from Devon's practice pulls. He uses them to learn and acquire knowledge. He doesn't crush people needlessly to demoralize or belittle. He is there to inspire and teach mechanics. Arm wrestling is a specialty fine art. It is about a clash of styles, physical gifts, degrees of nuance, adaptability, and finesse. It takes two persons to complete the whole picture in arm wrestling, but what Devon paints on the canvas inexorably usurps your contribution in the final created image.

Great video. Something ive been hearing whispers about that im not sure anyone has answered started with the following: On one of beerman's streams, he said devon pulled dave with a torn bicep. Can you help determine whether this happened before or after the pull? (obviously this was 2019 match). If he tore it after that makes total sense, dave would have caused the injury. If he tore it before, that makes devon's win versus dave look really impressive imo.

Only Devon knows himself how strong he is and i actually believe he is stronger than ever after 2018(not comparing 2008 version). He says he doesn't feel people on practice anymore, it's just useless now to pull for hours so now he is actually starting to increase the weights on his lifts slowly which he in past just used for rehab.

He is definitely better than he was in 2008. In 2008 he was 240-245 and since then he has gotten much bigger and significantly stronger. The level of the super heavyweight division in 2008 just isn’t where it is now

Devon uses those practice sessions exactly how anyone is supposed to. If it looks like he's intentionally giving up ground, it's very likely he knows he needs to work that particular scenario. He knows where he's weakest and he attacks those weaknesses in practice. If you're practicing just to remind people how dominating you are in your best positions, it's pointless.

Matt, this angle you talk of, to me reminds me of the posture of a conductor in an orchestra. Devan will conductor his opponent like they are an orchestra. Think about it. It's a posture you see in excellent skill. Devan the conductor.

only one thing about this.. i can't think of too many matches, aside from his losses to Michael Todd (and maybe hiis 2015 loss to Brzenk) where Devon wins a round and then loses the match. if devon has enough in him to take a round off of him, he's taking three more. but, i don't know if he can do it.

After that you have not seen Devon winning the firsts rounds and loosing the match. 2006 was the year when Devon starting to be popular, but far from his dominant version 2008-2012. There is a reason why Devon did not participate in tournaments or supermatches in Europe, and it's just the money. He now is in a good position to do things for him and for the sport. But in the past he wasn't a guy with mugh momey and he had a family... This has been said by him several times. If you think he was scared and that's the reason why he did not face europeans for long time, why he pulled Denis with left hand and probably in his weakest vereion ever? Why is he facing levan knowing that he 95% will loose? Well it's a huge goal to be his best version and he is earning money with it. We will see him vs other europeans later, don't worry. It would have been nice to see all the things which are hsppening in the sport rn with Devon in his 30s.... Like Levan, Vitaly, Ermes, kurdecha, etc...

To say Devon is stronger, ok maybe how would I know. To say he can win against Levan or Dennis, ok sure. But to say he is anywhere near their strength and power level is silly to say the least. Dennis and Levan are built different. They are juggernauts. Devon may be able to win, but he will do it the way he always does, ENDURANCE. He tires out his opponents. This will be no different. That is how he pulls and that is what he will continue to do, it works for him and he is the best at it. If you want to see a power struggle we need Dennis and Levan to battle.

Devon is generally significantly taller and lankier than his opponents. Matt is the same height, if not a bit taller, than Devon so he isn’t used to him

I think the bigger question that NEEDS to be answered is, Why is Matt’s hand always injured?

Honestly, Matt has never competitively arm wrestled Devon while he’s at the strength he is now. If Devon wanted to, and they were both fresh, Matt would not be close. Which he even admits himself at the end
