    Lol betting against their assumptions 🤣😂 I don't have a hand but they don't know. They might want to fold worse than me.... Then again he might not🤣😂 I'm Dodge all clubs 9s 10s 5 and aces We all know you sit and the cards just come. Id have my chips for later I get we need to gamble but gambling in this spot I will lose more than win. Bluffing this is just greedy. Fold when he bet the 1k and try a new draw. You see way too many hands in tourney to bleed chips In these spots. Guess it's just me tho🤦

    I probably would have played the hand similarly up until this point, but here I likely would have bluffed to represent the Flush, but under-sized it when this video helped reveal to me I should probably be betting bigger in this spot :D Ironically, I'd probably have grudgingly called with a Ten, so why wouldn't I figure my opponents would do the same? Betting at least pot more frequently now if I get in these situations and decide to bluff it :)

    9 is a great bluffing card and the 8 in our hand helps us here too as it blocks 89, 8T. Great that we have one club in hand as well. I think this is an ideal spot to bluff close to full pot. D) 4500 is good.

    Im going to bet around 7,000. We are trying to fold out hands like a Ten or smaller pocket pairs. We have a lot of 9x and better that we could have in our range when we polarize our range.

I must say that you make it easy to understand what you are talking, esp when tricky spots occur and you explain them to us. Im out of touch so would you please tell me if you still stream, when you ceased streaming to the public at large, about 12 months ago you indicated that you were limiting viewership to Members of Sharkesville, so what is the story with that currently. Have a Cool Yule, to you and the Mrs too Jon.

    I think we should bet. A better check-raise would be 5-6 (one club). We have a lot of equity on this river and we don't want our opponent to realise by allowing it to check through. We want to use two sizes (one with flushes/trips and one with Aces). I like a big bet, perhaps 2x pot.

    I have not yet ponied up to membership, but I have been eating up all the free content. I will say my game has improved and spots like this one I have defiantly missed value opportunities. I often go deep in my micro buy ins by finding spots where the player pool misses. I will be adding this to my bag and just going for it. Technically you only have to show up a winning hand on the last hand of a tourny, timed aggression is my game. Excited to come to this spot in the future. 200bb poker fun fun! Thanks for the content Jonathan, thanks Matt aswell always root for fellow Washingtonians. Looking forward to diving into the paid content when the time is right. Cheers! Since we have 0 showdown value and this is a good spot to bluff, I prefer betting instead of check raising. I dont think we can bet gigantic since we don't have a great nut advantage. We won't have many boats and but will have more flushes and trips than the button. Since we also have many missed draws against a somewhat capped range I think we should bet pot. Betting small should be fine too

    I like to bet somewhere around 4000ish at the river, because from my experience, I rarely see anybody check back a hand here that is very strong. I also see that people tend to give far too much credit in spots like this. I don't want to bet too big, because I don't want it to look like I might be trying to bluff, and I feel betting say, 7000 on the river might make an opponent holding, say JT curious and consider a call. This is not GTO, this is just what I have found works pretty well for me.

    I have no showdown value. I am pretty deep. I have a couple of blockers. That makes this a good candidate to bluff. His check probably means he does not have the flush because the checks on the turn means we are both trying to get to showdown. The 9 is absolutely in my range and I can represent a set or Tx or 5x. I think I can target a ten or a 5 and would look to fold out an ace. So I want my bet to look as strong as possible. An over bet looks too much like a bluff. 1/3 to 2/3 pot looks like I want him to call, but does not fold out an A. I think I have to put him at risk for his tournament life and shove.

  • @Doctormad881
    @Doctormad8812 жыл бұрын

    Unless I am in the streets with a good battling player, I 100 percent lead this spot with a roughly pot sized bet. Anytime the villain shows weakness and checks back the turn, it is super profitable to bet big and lead out of position on any river with both your made hands and every single busted draw. That play alone prints money at small stakes. You realize all of your value and all of your fold equity.

  • @Doctormad881

    @Doctormad881

    2 жыл бұрын

    Check/call only your strongest marginal made hands on the river. The best reason to bet on the bigger side is you fold out the most hands when you show up with busted draws and at the same time it makes it perfectly clear what to do when you get raised. Only the fiercest players are capable of raising a big river lead as a bluff. Actually, I don't know if anyone has that move in their game.

  • @marcosbarcala6249
    @marcosbarcala62492 жыл бұрын

    Well now I think we have to bluff because we are never winning at showdown... the small bet is probably not best because they can still call with a lot of marginal made hands... I do not think we need to go 2x pot though because I would say that beting pot makes them fold almost as many hands... so I would go pot here

    Bluffing: You have a club blocker, which is good; You have utterly no showdown value also good. You should have plenty of 2nd pair on the flop (9s), but so shld he. I think your 8 does block 98 at least. I think this is a bluff and not a give-up. Sizing is defo at least pot. I think he is much more likely to hold a T than an ace or a 9. More importantly I don’t think he is folding an ace to any size bet, so it’s a question of how large you need to go to fold a ten. I’m gonna say pot (4500), but I have a feeling the solver is going to prefer 2x pot. D. pot. P.s. Matt Affleck is also my favorite among the coaches. Ugh I’m in the majority!🤣

  • @easstttt

  • @qazzaqstan
    @qazzaqstan2 жыл бұрын

    I like betting small here. The button will have a lot of complete garbage (K high queen high, pocket 4s) that just C-bet because they basically always C-bet. I don't think we can get a T to fold that reasonably on this board since we really shouldn't have many As that didn't 3-bet the button and can call flop, but if we can get everything worse than a 5 to fold we are probably in a profitable spot just because that could be something close 1/2 their range here and we really only need them to fold 1/4 times.

    I would definitely bluff this river with 2 blockers to opponents' flushes : the club in your hand and the ace on the board. As for sizing, I think you can mix it up here, anything from half pot to overbet can be good. I like to go small-ish like 2/3 pot because I like to value bet really thin in this kind of spot, eg with any ace. And if I see opponent call a full pot bet with JT with no club, I'm tagging them as a station. Solver folds that to half pot.

    I would be really interested in this new Cashgame Masterclass course. Too bad you've put it behind the subscription paywall. I don't have the time for 10 million hand quizzes (exaggerated I know lol) and working through all the tournament stuff as I'm mostly an online cash game player at the micro stakes. I would've bought the course (as previous ones before) for a reasonable price but I won't buy the subscription. Neither do I want to fake "test" the subscription for 30 days just to watch this course and then ask for cash back (which would feel awkward). Maybe you can change your strategic decision to a more exploitative one (pun intended) and sell some of the courses separately 😀

    The more I think I would bet small to push K, Q or small pocket pair. Your betting did not make a lot of sense because a good opponent would known that only he could have 10 9 or A 9 and if you really had nut flush and got raised you would been in big trouble and would not bet big. A good opponent would known that you would never have 10 9 or A 9 or flush. I think small bet and pot size bet have the same folding equity.

If you've noticed player x to be conservative then possibly, also depends what story you've told me if you've check raised and raiswd had a showdown and won the pot a couple times players will be more likely to fold... 7:20 Fine spot for a bluff. No showdown value. Pairing middle card (9) makes a value bet credible. Opponent's last action was weak. His range is very wide. He's not folding a pair of tens or better, but it would be criminal to let him win with K high. I think pot is good. If we could put his life on the line with an even bigger bet, that would be fine, but that doesn't come into play here. Both player's ranges are too wide for a small bet here IMO, just pricing him in with way too many hands.
