これまで開発されてきたHCCIでは、燃焼の成立条件が限定されていたため実用化が困難とされていましたが、マツダはスパークプラグでの着火によるエアピストンによって混合気の圧縮、自己着火を行うようにし、幅広い領域での圧縮着火運転を可能としたようです。火花点火制御圧縮着火(Spark Controlled Compression Ignition)でSPCCIと呼ぶそうです、
エンジン外観図からは直噴システム、エア供給機、吸排気電動VVT、クールドEGRが見えます。

Hello, Luke! I'm not familia with the engine (sorry). Just I recommend you clean up the engine, it helps you find the place of oil leak. But, sometimes oil leeks into combustion chamber, and burns out. Mostly there is two ways. 1)oil comes up through the clearance between piston and cylinder. In this case, oil ring is damaged. 2)oil is sucked through the clearance between (mostly) intake valve and valve guide. To check, at first, start engine with 'N' range, and keep some minutes. Next, race up rpm. If you find white exhaust gas, it may be oil burning in combustion chamber. (If cold weather, it may just water mist. you must carefully think). Now , you still keep race rpm, and if white smoke doesn't stop ever, the reason is 1), because high revolution causes leaking between piston and cylinder clearance. But, if white smoke stops after a while, the reason is 2), because during idling time, intake vacuum sucks oil between the clearance of intake valve and valve guide, and then the oil is accumulated onto the top of piston. As you rise rpm, the oil is exhausted as white smoke, but the accumulated oil will be gone after minutes, also the white smoke will disappear. you have stood on broken English anyway ^^/bye
