Matriarch | Round Robin Mode

This video explores the round robin mode available in Matriarch’s Global Settings.
Round robin mode refers to how the oscillators on Matriarch get allocated as new notes are played on the keyboard. This can be configured to operate in one of three ways: Off, On With Reset, and On. With round robin mode turned Off, each new note press will use the lowest available oscillator, meaning that if you play one note at a time, the same oscillator will be reused for each new note press. When using On With Reset, you’ll notice a similar functionality, but after a single note press, added harmonizing notes in 2/4 voice mode will incorporate oscillators 2-4 in a cyclical fashion. When using round robin in the On mode, each new note press will use the next available oscillator no matter your playing style, allowing oscillators 1-4 to always cycle as you play new notes. Having round robin mode set to On can offer many creative possibilities since each oscillator can have independent settings, allowing you to add cyclical waveform or octave patterns to your patches.
Exploring the different options available in round robin mode opens up new possibilities for voice articulation in your patches that can be catered to your individual playing style.

Great explanation, clear and useful - I feel inspired to find musical applications for those fascinating ROUND ROBIN MODES. Thumbs up, Moog!

I LOVE my Matriarch and I love round robin paired with the arp. BUT PLEASE make a phone or computer app for modifying the global settings! The current workflow is awful.

I'm ordering my first ever synthesizer and I'm happy to say that it will be a MOOG MATRIARCH! I've been looking at her and studying her for almost 1 year and 4 months now. I'm getting one. The only problem I have is.... do i get the original or the dark?????? decisions decisions...

Dark is sleek and sexy but a little more conforming, the colors are full of Moog personality. It's a tough choice with no correct answer!

How many other synths out there are also mostly/all black? Now how many other synths have a color scheme like THIS? pretty easy choice imo

Be careful mentioning the One. 😂 Last time I mentioned having a Moog One, I was raked over the coals by people saying I was bragging, showing off etc. No kidding. I worked hard to get mine and sold my favorite car to buy it. Enjoy your Moog One and yes Moog, can we get more of these videos for all of your products. The manuals are ok but video demos are better.
