Matlacha and Bokeelia, Pine Island Driving Through

Matlacha is a census-designated place in Lee County, Florida, United States. As of the 2020 census, the CDP had a population of 598. It is part of the Cape Coral-Fort Myers, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Bokeelia is an unincorporated community and census-designated place located on Pine Island in Lee County, Florida, United States. As of the 2020 census, the CDP had a population of 1,855, up from 1,780 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cape Coral-Fort Myers, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.

    I never left the island and your video showed the north end of the island witch was only affected by the wind.You need to video the south end (saint james city) ware the of most damage occurred.Thank you for reminding people of Ian.

    Not sure why but Pine Island's vegetation appears much greener than Sanibel's. Yeah, Sanibel took it on the nose but next door Pine Island got the same salt water intrusion. I'm guessing it's due to a time factor regarding exposure to the water. In Naples my yard had ~2-3 ft of water which was in and out in ~5 hours and most of the vegetation did OK. These calamities make one really count their blessings. Best wishes to all.

    I lived on pine island 🏝️ a long time ago. I used burnt store road to get to the interstate. What a beautiful place and fishing and eating them..what a place

    I can't believe I'm back on pine island 🏝️... looks very promising to me..if you are pelican... don't build anything worth dieing for...but it's blast
