If you are referring to the musical, then you are wrong. The musical was intended to resemble the book’s version not the 1996 movie.

It always suprised me that Miss Trunchbull was not upset with Miss Honey for freeing Matilda from it or wandered how Matilda came out, since she remembered putting Matilda in it. 🤣

If she taught college students who either weren't scared of her, or had the power to fight back, she wouldn't be in control anymore and would probably either be bored or be intimidated. Actually, Miss Trunchbull DELIBERATELY uses over the top detentions so that if children complained at home their parents would not believe them. If a teacher hated your braids or pigtails and cut them, a parent would protest for this arrogant gesture; if she caught you fro your hair and used you as an gym tool, no parents would believe you
