Thanks for you teardowns so I know what is inside mine. I have been lucky after 1k miles or riding no issues since 2019. I got the second wave indigogo mate bike early days and it came with that charger and they gave us free new chargers because that one pumped so many amps. The charger got hot af so i put a fan on it until they gave us replacements. They had all kinds of supplier issues and was a bit of mess based on all the updates they sent early buyers.

I think two reasons why people still buy Mate bikes. 1) They market well to the upper/upper middle class hipster crowd. 2) By the numbers Mate City bike, has a really good cost/battery (if their numbers are to be trusted)
