Great review! I like this figure for what it is and I’m glad they have made the character a shapeshifter to explain the heavy reuse. I don’t know, I’m not keen on so much heavy reuse. I would prefer mattel to start making new unique pieces of armor and weapons instead of using the same ones again and again, especially face sculpts - we don’t need Plasmar to have Fisto’s face. They should think out of the box a bit more with origins

Thanks for checking out the review! Yeah, the reuse of parts is no surprise on this figure going back to the vintage core designs and concepts to use existing parts and make another story and characters of that story like Terroar, Plasmar and lord Grasp. It's still really fun to see this figure in Origins now!

There were 6 figures supposed to be released at the end of the vintage line. Heroes: *1)* Plasmar, *2)* Strobo, *3)* Slamurai, and Snake Men: *4)* Snake Trooper, *5)* Lord Gr'asp, *6)* Terroar.

Yeah they gonna be a part of the power of Grayskull series in the 80s. They plans for a bunch of figures. I only named a couple in this review. I think lady slither was also part of that plan.

@@Themanchlid Nah, Lady Slither was invented for the Classics line only, from what I've read. These 6 figures had no new tooling, they were just a bunch of mixed parts that were recoloured. Thanks for the vid anyway.

@@The_Cosmic_Yog-Sothoth Yes lady slither had plans for the classics line. But she has vintage inspired art and designs going back to the 80s from what I found along side with Terroar and several other Snake concept figures that never made it to the vintage line but now all coming to the Origins. But who knows what the real plans were with all of these figures then. Some of the info online is mixed. Thanks again for watching and sharing your comments!

This guy looks great. I love the clever mixing & matching of parts. Not only does it fit right in with the ethos of the vintage line but it's also something we can do pretty easily ourselves to make new characters with how the Origins line is designed. My only complaint (if you can call it that) is that they've been going just a little heavy on the Snake guys. They all look awesome, but I think it's time the other factions got more attention. And Powers of Grayskull!

  • @Themanchlid

Thanks for checking out the review and posting your thoughts and comments on this figure. I'm glad you enjoy the overall design even though it's just a bunch of preexisting Motu parts used with a couple of different colors. But that's exactly what always made the Motu brand of figures fun. I also enjoy seeing all new stuff as well. But I'm a sucker for another repaint or variant figure to add to the collection. Terroar fits in perfectly for that! Yes, Mattel is definitely going all in with the Snakemen faction. They have even more figures coming from the vintage concepts that made it to the 80s line. Also, more power of Grayskull figures coming as well👍

Finally caught up, at least until the Prince Adam & Cringer review, lol! Terroar is an interesting mashup of parts. I had never known about the “lost wave” until I went down the MotU rabbit hole again with Pixel Dan’s Classics reviews a few years ago. So, I’ve been curious how he and Lord Gr’asp would translate into Origins figures. He definitely looks cool, I just wish the neck looked better. They’ve now used that neck extension piece 3 times, for Rattlor, Rattle-Hood from the Diabolical Snake Invasion 4-pack, and now Terroar. And every time it’s been utilized, it’s a tad too thick for the heads and looks like it’s just popped onto the top of the body instead of extending from the inside of the body (like it should look). The neck piece should really have a peg on the bottom that plugs into the body and not the other way around, if that makes any sense. (Like how the arms, hands, and boots work.) But that would require an entirely new buck, obviously. Plus, the engineering behind that would probably put more stress on the peg when pulling the pieces apart. That’s something I’ve observed with the figures I’ve already opened and why I don’t want to do it very often. So, I guess the options for the neck are limited. It doesn’t look terrible, but I really wish we had the quick-strike neck-popping action feature on these characters. Great review as always! Unfortunately it’ll probably be a while, if ever, until I get this guy as I still don’t have any of the other Snake Men outside of the Mattel Creations exclusives. The last full wave I collected was Wave 8. At this point, I would need to spend a significant amount of money to catch up on every Origins-related release and we just don’t have those kinds of funds lying around to spend. 🫤 ~Damon

Thanks for catching up on all my videos! Yeah, he's definitely an interesting mash up with all those pre-existing Figure parts. I think it's really cool to see these lost vintage inspired figures come to the Origins that never made it to the vintage line. I have never seen Pixal dans video about these. I guess I already had that classics pack around the same time. But I wasn't reviewing then. I'm not surprised they just reused the Rattlor neck again. The Vintage concept figure was gonna use the Rattlor body and neck, but with the Rattlor action feature, I believe. Of course, the Origins just went with the ball peg system. The whiplash head doesn't really articulate well. Only left to right on the body and the neck extension. I guess I'm not planning to really do much with the head pose anyway. Aside, look forward. It would have been nice to see a newer neck piece. But we got what I expected going back to the vintage concept, but with the newer already designed Origins parts. It's still a fun figure to get when he is more available!

These will also be available at certain online retailers once the exclusive agreement is over with Walmart sometime this summer or fall. I try to show a little bit of the comic as clear as I can. But I try not to spend too much time on the images or words because many people just want to focus on the figure review instead. Some channels will make a whole video about those comics and spend much more time on the details.

Great review! Thanks! I'm a hard pass on this one. For some reason, I was expecting the Whiplash tail on this guy. That Rattlor tail looks like a deflated birthday balloon. I'm OK witth remixes of parts and repaints, but this guy doesn't seem to be a very clever combination. I know that Mattel is recreating an existing prototype, so they couldn't get super creative, but the gimpy tail, the moon boots, and all of the glued-on parts makes this one really unappealing, to me.

Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts on this figure and design. Yeah, the parts are what I expected to see, just going off the other Origins counter part figures like Rattlor and Whiplash, for example. Rattlor already had that hollow tail, which I never liked. It should have been solid like the Origins Whiplash tail is. But it's cool to see these vintage inspired concept figures that never were released in the 80s toy line and now added to the Origins series as a wacky looking variant figure.

Yeah, the same can be said with many of the vintage and Origins designs or figures. They all use the same arms, legs, and bucks. Certain figures have different designs of coarse like Ram Man or the Buzz-Off legs, for example. I think mixing certain figures parts with new colors is what makes the MOTU line fun sometimes. And of course, it's important to get all new tooled figures. Terroar, like Lord, grasp was just more shape shifting Snakemen characters in the series or, of course, a cheap way to throw some new figures with back a story in the line to save on tooling costs.
