I figure the wings would be like that. The poses are limited but omg she looks AMAZING! I can't wait to have her next month! So jealous of you Dan!

I believe they should have used something like Shadow Weavers cloak that was bendable and more easy to pose

It's interesting that they have finally done a figure for the Sorceress. Originally the character of Teela was reffered to as the "warrior godess "or something in the little comic books you would get with each figure. Teela came with a sort of snake themed head dress and a similarly themed staff, in the old figure we had as children.Of course all these accessories got lost , as they do when you're a kid, but i remember thinking that it was weird that they confused The Sorceress with Teela.

Dan, it's a nice figure for every reason you stated. Something tells me it'll get a "2.0" like She-Ra did.

well, one method i could think to improve the sorceress figure would be to use a cloth of some kind with the wing decal inked on it, that way she'd have a cloak thing going on, and you could get more poses out of her. but i digress, being nothing uses a nit cloth any more, hell can't even get a batman figure with a cloth cape which would make a more epic pose

Great review as usual! Those wings look great in about two positions... a strange solution for sure. It seems like this could have been done much more elegantly with the use of a combination of fabric and plastic.... like a cape with some molded in plastic detail. As it stands here.... not a good approach for this figure. That being said, the rest of the figure looks great IMO.

Perhaps the best way to have approached the wings would have been to actually make them out of some kind of fabric. After all, they were fabric on the "real" outfit; that's why they were able to move the way they did. Actually, on the "real" Sorceress I suspect the wings are detachable. We saw her wearing sleepwear in "Secret of the Sword" so it's a given she can disrobe; I suspect it would be a bit of a pain in the a** to get that outfit off if you COULDN'T remove the wings... ;)

Actually, it just occurred to me. The wings ARE detachable; we SAW this in the cartoon. In "Teela's Triumph," Teela had to try to fool Skeletor into thinking she was the Sorceress. She didn't have time to change into the Sorceress' full outfit but she DID grab one of her wing capes and wrapped herself in it to hide her real clothing. So clearly the wings CAN be separated from the outfit. This also proves the Sorceress has a closet somewhere with several duplicates of the outfit... ;)

I wonder why they didnt just attach the wings to her shoulder-blades? They wouldnt even need to change the mechanics, just move the connection. *shrug*

I think that the drama of the wings is a good thing.....

She is very gorgeous! I wish that they made her wings out of cloth.

I think the wings would have looked kinda plain on the inside without the blue added to it.

This is probably from a new range of figures , sepparate from the classics i played with tho as this figure seems to have more articulation in her arms.

her wings should have been a cape made of simple colored fabric, with wrist bands to spread it out when she raises her arms, then you can unhook the bands to let it fall to her side when she doesn't spread her wings. easy simple and looks better than this plastic. good review nonetheless.

+HT T and the face is definetly not good. use Teela`s head sculp with a small change, since she is her mother, it would fit.

So where can i get me some of these new redesigned Masterso The Universe figures, they look NIIIIIICE!!

@CommanderX495 If you're lucky you can find He-Ro or He-Man. My shop had a couple He-Ro figures because of either SDCC or NYCC. As far as ordering goes, specialty shops won't get special privileges. They'll suffer from the same issues as you and I. That is, of course, unless you want to get a posse together and "storm the castle". I have my pitchfork ready.

i always thought the 200x soceress had to much of an egyptian feel feel to her and rather stood out in the furry underwear world that i fondly remember about he-man... but oh well i digress... did i spell digress right?

I thought the wings WERE attached to the back.....so the only reason its like this so they will move up with the arm....but you could just hold onto the arm and outer wing to do the same thing.....mmmm another pointless gimmick killing the figure. I agree with Dan with the wings issue.....and i hate the BG Teela legs...Sorceress has a skirt, what's wrong with She-ra legs? Less articulation to save cost? is it that different....?

In my opinion there is nothing wrong with the wings except when she is sitting on the throne in castle grayskull. I'm glad that they modified the wings for the middle piece but they should modify it for the arms but i guess i can customize my throne. The figure is great, when have you seen The Sorceress in both series punch anyone so that poise would not be useful (just saying). Overall love the review. Thanks for sharing :)

I agree with you. It was not a perfect solution. But honestly, I can't think of a better one myself. Plus, the action feature is nice.

What a shame the wings got in the way. Still a nice Sorceress figure.

Can matty re-release teela and sorceress again, and sell in public not mattycollector.com. Really makes me hard to get the figure that I want.

Man! No rocker ankles?? Fail! That's cuz I like the BG Teela rocker ankles. They work really well. Plus I do admire the attempt at a solid action wing gimmick but the fact that they come out, as you put it "a serving tray", reminds me of the 90s and the way some action featurea ruined a great looking toy.

Pixel I love youand I adore you , again, but you say nothing about her wings if they are removeble from the shoulders or if we can turn them so when we move her arm infrond , not to be like a weatress disc...

That old 80s Sorceress is terrible. I remember even as a kid when it came out I was like, wtf is this. It's like they've given up. At that point I was sort of getting over playing with toys anyway, but all the figures in that last series sucked hard.

Is there any chance this figure will be 'RE-REleased" by Matty collector??? I tried to buy it when it was first on sale and was sold out before I was able to check out. I"m so sick and tired of Matty always being sold out immediatley after it goes on sale for like 10 min....UNBELIEVABLE. But be a pal Dan and let me...cause this is the one figure i REALLY want but dont want to spend over a 100 on ebay.

Love the figure and the character, but ugh, damn why'd Teela have to be a clone?
