Finally picked these guys up over the weekend. Thanks for the video showing me how everything works saving me time figuring that stuff out. Very helpful.

Dan, the tops you mean were called "Whizzers", also made by Mattel. They were rounded with cool designs, you'd get the bottom moving by dragging them fast on the floor a few times, then they'd spin like magic and do tricks.

Observation: since the pegs fit any of the holes on Rotar's "weapon base", in theory you could plug one figure into the ends and spin them against each other. Gripe: they're packaged backwards over the wrong name.

So glad I was finally able to get this set! I LOVE the fact we have the option to display with and without the legs. NICE!

Great video! Thank you! While we got a lot more with this set than I expected, I was still annoyed that Rotar's Roto-Pod / Gear Grinder thing had the gears moulded so that he could only be plugged into the gears when it's upside-down. I ended up drilling out a hole in the hub of one of the gears so he could be displayed on it the right way up.

Has anyone noticed these guys are backwards in the pack? Twistoid is in rotors place and so on

Me too, I always thought they looked silly without legs, in fact, that's the reason I never got them when I was a kid.

This review makes me wish I put an effort into obtaining them! The stands for the vintage figures was PURE GENIUS since those vintage figures are nearly impossible to display without toppling over!

got these two on the way to me can't wait to get them in hand. they looks sweet even though I never had the originals.

aw man, you have the vintage set! I still have to get mine..2 of the few figures I am missing still.

Put the two figures on uppersit sides of the saw blade thing that way you can mamic the rotor feature

Could you have both figures on either end of Rotars spinny saw weapon so they can fight rock'um sock'um style?

Excellent figures and nice review!. I´m sad because I was delayed to get them for a few minutes :(. Next time I hope be more lucky.

Awesome review, Dan! I had no idea there were so many display options. I totally see Twistoid as some kind of army builder for LL Skeletor! Rotar is almost the same for the Heroic Warriors, especially with the awesome "second face" feature. Also, your reviews have been really fine tuned and I think this was the best one yet! Keep it up!

I was looking at that comment for hours (exaggeration but still a long time) until I realized you meant top as in *a* top not *the* top.

It sounds really wierd but id like too see a cyborg clawful using twistoids body.

Ariel A. Roldan-Martinez In Mattel's defense It took me a decade to be able to refer to one or the other without having to look it up first. :D Corrected boxes would be a funny sub exclusive for next year though. Open up the misprinted ones from this year and MIB them your self. :P

You know, I actually think Rotar would look a lot better with repainted King Hsss legs

the originals go for $800 for both

I wish I'd known that when the Chidlren's Palace in North Canton, Ohio has an entire wall of these guys and all three of the Preternia dinosaurs, back in 1987!

My opinion, but these are by far the worst vintage MOTU ever made. Very content to not own them. This was the end of the vintage line when their toy designers just stopped caring. Sorry, they suck.

These look dumb without the legs...their sold out everywhere. I dont get it.
