when the riff starts its like the clouds parting when goss starts the vocals its like god's hand decending down to show that honest to god rock and roll is still very electrfying and still can be done right.

Best version of the song. The keyboards kicking in is fabulous.

Agreed. The keyboard adds so much to the atmosphere. It's there without the keys, but so much stronger with them. Paul Powell's bass play is amazing as well. I shouldn't get started. Everything is amazing about it. This is one of my favourite songs ever and will always be.

Chris Goss was born 200 years too late. That voice could have filled the great European opera halls with a handkerchief in one hand and a glass of wine in the other. All hail the great Mr Poopy Pants!! The grandfather of desert rock and the great carrier of the torch of 70's. God bless you.

Was fortunate to see them with the lineup that recorded the album - Goog, Vinnie Ludovico & Tim Harrington(sp?) around 1990-91 in LA, pretty sure it was the Hollywood Palladium. The Candy Song was in heavy rotation on KNAC, I had the cassette, oh man, memories. Anyway, Masters completely tore it up, they opened up with Blue Garden, Goss had a huge cowboy hat on all night, they jammed/extended just about every song, my friends, who weren't really fans going in, were completely blown away, as was I. I'm pretty sure not too long after I saw them they were touring with Kings X when it all fell apart for them & that version of the band broke up.

Raw gorgeous live music played well with what is a genuine guitar 'groove' ( no wonder he looks like he's loving it .. =) ), and that superb melodic free line bass, absolutely tremendous. Add keyboards to bring the mixture together and nail your arse drums for a bit of kick; bake on 180 for 30 minutes. Fucking perfect. 18 years on. Saw them supporting The Cult a couple of years back and still love 'em but that is as live music should be, fantastic. We live in a world of manufactured spoon fed crap, how is the next Chris Goss going to get througjh, it was tough then.. Thumbs up to the uploader.

I'm still partial to the album version with Harrington's awesome wah-pedal solo... Too bad he and Goss never saw eye-to-eye after the first album... the original lineup was their best incarnation... but I'm biased... I used sneak into the local club in Syracuse when I was highschool to watch these guys shred live well before they got signed and the first album came out... I remember they opened for the Smithereens and blew them off the freaking stage...

Still the greatest exponent of hard rock blues riffs since rory gallagher, coupled with 1970's mystic lyrics. Chris Goss should be up there with Jimmy Page, Richie Blackmore et al.... Trouble was Geffen tried to market Masters of Reality as the next Guns n Roses and missed the entire point.... The greatest band that should have had the recognition they deserved
