ABOUT GÉRALDINE
Hi! I’m Géraldine Lepère, the founder of Comme une Française (= “Like a French woman”) and your new French best friend. :)
Each Tuesday, I share a fun, fresh and bite-sized lesson on French language and French culture-from embarrassing mistakes to avoid to pop-cultural references to “get” !
For over five years now, with millions of views and students in over 56 countries, I’ve been helping people just like you gain the confidence to really talk in French. And better than the “textbook” French from high school!

Merci beaucoup pour le video 📹
I learned that you can't say bonjour twice to a person. That seems very good to know. Merci beaucoup Geraldine.
Merci, Geraldine.
Geraldine, you blend in so naturally with the rest of the flowers 🌺

I like to see outdoor videos while learning french. Thank you.
Such a cute idea to do a "summer camp" theme. I love the setting with the flowers and the birds chirping. I like the tout a faite, as something to add in my conversations when others are speaking.
These expressions were so helpful. as ways to keep the conversation going. Your costumes are so entertaining, too!
Where are you? It is so beautiful. I’m studying French because we’re planning an extended trip in France.
I really love how you set up this ‘summer camp’, c’est vraiment chouette!!! My favorite part of this lesson was learning how to ask people to slow down when they speak. It’s difficult to understand because it come natural to them, but some words aren’t clear when I try to hear them.
Love, love, love your channel.
J'ai beaucoup aimé cette vidéo, merci!
J'aime tu videos Geraldine. Merci beaucoup!
The scene is lovely and your lessons here were wonderful.
I Love Normandy . Your lessons are great!
Nice outfit Geraldine! You look awesome 😊 thanks for the outdoors class was refreshing 👏
Oui, j'ai beaucoup appris. Merci!!!
This was really helpful - mainly the second part but it taught me words I did not know already! Merci! :)
Always full of amazing nuggets.🙏
Amuse-toi bien !!
I am going to attend a french seminar in 2 weeks so your videos are the best way to catch up on my french!
The lady owner of our local restaurant now greets my wife and myself with « Coucou » I’m glad you told us this phrase 👍 merci Géraldine !
Merci beaucoup Géraldine
Tout a fait was a very useful phrase and a nice alternative to exactement, which I repeat a lot.
Coucou, Géraldine. This is a wonderful first lesson, merci. My take away is the cultural rules. I often stumble on these when in France. It is so good to know now.
Merci beaucoup
I love your videos and want to speak French with the fluency with which you speak English....Would love to have a video on how to pronounce place names in Paris... not just the tourist places....But other places as well....
i learnt a lot. now i can greet someone goodnight and good evening differently
Of particular help for me was things to say to extend a conversation with French-speaking people. Most of my neighbors and friends are primarily french speaking Franco-Americans. Many of these gens typically switch from French to English when the conversation is joined by an Anglophone, most of whom are monolingual. I'm frequently trying to convince people that it's very helpful if they continue conversing en francais .
I have just started to learn, as I want to relocate to France from Germany soon, and your energy and easy to follow videos make it so much more exciting to learn my 4th language!! Thank you so much to make the pronunciation so easy! I speak english, german and czech, which are quite "harsh" languages to speak when it comes to pronunciation, maybe english is softer, but all three languages pronounce exactly as it is written - french is like quicksilver, so fluid, playful and fun in comparison 💕
Le chapeau est très très chic!🙂
dropping the „ne“ is such a huge thing! I heard the t‘inquiete a lot and from just hearing, I thought it means don‘t worry but I wasn‘t sure because I allways thought it needs a „ne“ because u say „don‘t“ and not do worry :,D When I askd someone french what it means I even pronounced it wrong like taquete - so this person first said this word doesn‘t exist! such things are kinda depressing - happy that I found this channel! thank you :-)
I only kind of understood bon journee and bonne soiree before, but the way you explained it today made more sense. I feel I have a grasp on it now. Merci Geraldine!

Merci. Always like your videos. If I can, I suggest you to have a longer video of 30 minutes with bit more of lessons , tips and practice.

I never knew about the phrases C'est tout à fait vrai or tout à fait, which is surprising to me but very helpful!
Hi Alexa I love your videos
Knowing my luck, I would tell someone that I don't speak English, just Croatian, and end up talking with the only person in a 100 mile radius who is fluent in Croatian. 😂
Hello. Very helpful series but I can’t find week four.
Thank you for this summer camp. By the way, do you speak any other languages besides French and English?
My problem in France was that I said a simple sentence like Excusez-moi, ou-est la rue de poste? And the person kept talking in French for 2 minutes and I was like "ähhhh". Then I said goodbye very formally and walked in the wrong direction :)
Merci pour votre guide. With parting company I’ve used “ à demain ” and “à la prochâine” a lot in the past depending on the situation. I apologise if the spelling is incorrect. Are these still relevant in day to day conversation today? Salut. Gareth
Merci boucoup.
Coucou prof...vous etes belle. Merci beaucoup
Haha! Good trick

What does "vous vous" mean?
Aujourd'hui, j'ai appris à éviter de parler anglais. Merci, Geraldine!
You look good in shorts 😍
haa i already learned from you
À très vite! I get tired of just saying A bientôt over and over
👏👏👏👏👍🌞
How can you say thighs in French?
I learned not to say bonne nuit to strangers 😌
hmm look what i stumbled upon wow your fast and smart wide awake i see i wonder if maybe you can make sense of whats stopping me from being able to speak french i am nearly there very close in mountains in ITALY these funky dialecs messsed me up plus i suspect theres german in it half the time i was ruined by and old guy who for some reason never went back to france plus im not the smartest fella low education so i am trying to get a job at a french bistro in NYC area so S.O.S

I am living in France and unfortunately nobody here has a minimum of pacient to even try to understand you. 😔 I just see noses being twisted when I don't know how to express myself correctly. Very difficult even to get information or buy something ... 😔

Welcome to the real world, but don't be afraid and never, never give up, just keep on practicing.
The best way to prevent the conversation from switching to English: pretend that you're a native Spanish speaker and don't speak any English. "Yo no hablo íngles."
Who can I practice with if I live in a place where nobody speaks French. A HA.
Excuse moi, i'm only want give You a sugerence, why not use more french in your class instead of almost only speak English,You are a good teacher but we need to practice every lesson please .
I want to see your legs. Yes, this is probably sexist, but you are a pretty woman, and showing your entire body is not a crime. Meanwhile, I LOVE your French lessons.
