So bonding the joints with that glue doesn't cause any expansion/contraction issues? If they are bonded they won't be able to expand contract, that doesn't cause fasteners to pull out or buckling due to the inability to move?

I am planning to use Azek for fascia and rake on a gable house. Since I’ll be working alone My plan is to glue up all my 45 degree corners and attach them first then I will fill in between with straight cuts Should I use butt joint or should I bevel on a 45 when attaching the straight sections?. Bevel will make glueing much easier as with a butt the glue would glue out when sliding a tight fit in.

Bevel on a 45 degree is the best option

A glued together butt joint would be more natural looking and a shorter seam to somewhat conceal. Sometimes a good rule of thumb is: “If it’s not a 45, don’t make it one.”

@@Beenthere5409 I have done it both ways , small 45's are OK, example light boxes in a stone wall on a driveway. The comment about the shorter length joint is valid . I also run a screw into the joint if that edge is covered, for extra insurance, more difficult on a butt joint.

Is there anyway to make the seam between the butt joint seamless, or smooth like 1 piece

None because the boards are 12 ft long .. and if your wall is 20ft long … you will have a seam

My concern is there is no need to use any J. But how does the water stay out?

This is a concern of mine as well. Interested in his response. Planned on using Azek trim with alside ascend (installs like vinyl with J), but using a rabbited piece of Azek trim will still allow water behind the cladding. So I’m thinking I have to build the trim out enough with another piece of pvc behind it so I can fit the j channel underneath the Azek rabbit.
