Mastering Italian Mixology: 5 Classic Italian COCKTAILS
New Year's Eve is upon us! We decided to celebrate with a video all about Italian cocktails, from famous favorites like Aperol Spritz to lesser-known gems such as Milano Torino.
The only thing we forgot to account for was how we would get through sampling a series of cocktails with dignity...
Happy New Year and much love to you all! 🥂

@juliabishop1408 that was my original plan but my friends had a different idea... which is why I've started cooking early today. I'm making Beef Wellington and everyone else is bringing something equally yummy to share. (I made macarons earlier this week for our dessert.)

Totally agree hahahaa Drunk History
Those oranges are Navels. Designed to be peeled and eaten, so they are dryer. The orange called Valencia is very juicy and designed for juicing and drinking. 😉
The Italian drinker's pro tip: if you arrive late to a party and you want to catch up quickly without throwing shots down the drain, have one or two Negroni, you'll feel buzzed the right amount and you'll be sure you'll be around the same level as the other earlier guests lol. Auguri gente! Passate un buon San Silvestro e primo dell'anno!
LIttle fun fact: I live a couple hundred meters from where the Campari factory was located. The factory is now closed, and they built a large semiluxury condominium and a public garden in its place. There are also the Campari offices, a little museum, and the mansion where the Campari family lived (Casa alta) which has been turned into a restaurant, and on the top floor hosts a bartending school. But when the factory was still working a couple times a week it stank up the whole neighborhood! Also, if you really want to make a video on aperitivo, you really ned to come to Milano. You should tour the places where we go for aperitivo: Tender Bar, Mono, Tempio d'Oro, Frida for the places where common people go, and Cantine Isola, Lacerba, and Terrazza Aperol for a bit of history and luxury (or pretentiousness in the case of Terrazza Aperol). Harper, Cynar Spritz has lime, the Select version instead has olives.
Tipsy Eva is the cutest thing ever! I love that the teacher in her is still teaching. 😂
The story about Garibaldi is accurate and the idea of the whole modern Italian history in two cocktails is pretty convincing! 😂🎉

Omg I was practicing mixed drinks last night! Perfect timing! I think my favorite part of this video is watching you guys catch a buzz 🤣🤣🤣🤣
OK so I just finished up a New Years Eve drinking fest with friends here in Sri Lanka. Out of curiosity I decided to watch Harper and Eva drink some bevies. Eva, by the finish of the video, is in exactly the same state as I am as I write this. So Happy New Year Harper and Eva, and Happy New Year to all the Pasta Grammar fans around the globe!

Im a bit late, but still: To Garibaldi!
I had neither Aperol nor Campari at hand, but you inspired me to make a southern European New Year's cocktail with prosecco, Pellegrino and homemade guignolet (a strong French dessert wine flavoured with plenty of cherry leaves), plus a slice of a Spanish orange. Cheers and Gott nytt år from Sweden
Fun fact: there is another thing originally from Brescia called Pirlo... one of the best midfielders in the history of football.

Un video sulla storia della cultura dell'aperitivo mi farebbe piacere, lo guarderei volentieri!

I think I actually understood that, and I agree. I would like a video of the story of the culture of the aperitivo too.
My father was part Italian and introduced my younger siblings and I to wine from about 5 years old. I hasten to add the amount of wine was minuscule- about the size of a pea - well mixed with soda water or lemonade. As we grew older the amount of wine very slowly increased and as the soda water etc very slowly decreased. I still prefer to drink my wine mixed with lemonade. My brother sister and I all prefer to drink wine this way - it looks as though you have a glass full of wine but in reality it is barely a thimbleful. 😊😊😊😊 I also agree about the Italian way of having a drink and food together. Here in the UK the habit is simply to go for a drink which can lead to binge drinking. 😔😔😔😔
I think Eva needed a few more snacks. 😉 She is charming even when tipsy. Happy New Year To Harper and Eva and all their fans. 🎉🥂🎉
Eva is the happiest history teacher ever! Best wishes to all for a happy and prosperous new year. 🥂🎉
Great to see you guys having fun and enjoying Italian cocktail culture. Needs a follow up with more cocktails. And yes ti the aperitivo video
Hi! Happy new year! Argentinian fan here. Love Italian everything. Ice, 30% Fernetbranca 70%Coca-Cola. Bitter, sweet, fresh and bubly.
Eva is absolutely adorable! Happiest New Year to you both, enjoy!
15:33 Non sapevo che questo si chiamasse Garibaldi. Qui in Germania lo chiamano semplicemente “Campari-Orange” e io lo trovo veramente molto gradevole. L’ho sempre preso con piacere in qualche bar.
Buon Anno! Thanks for the introduction to Italian cocktails. I was with the American Air Force stationed at Brindisi in the 1970s where I was introduced to a variety of Campari drinks. I really fell in love with Campari and have been drinking it on occasion ever since. Until recently it's been the only "Italian" drink, other than wine, I've ever had. However, recently I've discovered a local restaurant here in my mid-sized West Coast city that serves a selection of over 50 different amari from all over Italy and beyond. I would love to learn more about them if you can find the space in your fun and wonderful KZread channel. Ciao.
😅 Eva dropping history tid bits while tipsy,Love! ❤ in Mexico we have a Plaza Garibaldi where Mariachis “unify” (Get together) and play music. Happy New Year guys 🎉

This was the cutest episode of 2023 , Blessings to you both for 2024 🎉❤
Now I want to go on a Pastagrammar tour to have cocktails and stories from Eva. Happy New Year! Cheers! 🎉
Awesome video🎉 but apparently Eva does not drink cocktails frequently, she is funny when tipsy👍
Happy new year! I'm a big Giuseppe Garibaldi fan, for two reasons: I competed in bearding in the Verdi/Garibaldi category, and because I lived in south Brazil. The whole video I was yelling "AND HE WENT TO BRAZIL!" while my wife rolled her eyes, so I'm glad Eva added that bit at the end.
based on places I've worked: Bar snacks are salty to encourage customers to buy more drinks... bars stopped putting them out... because hygiene (like mints in old diners -- use the spoon!) I worked at one place that would offer small "individual" snack bowls... if you order a drink and then toss out what wasn't eaten
My Dad would always have Sambuca with three coffee beans in it on New year's Eve. Then the next day he would make Amaretto sours. 🥃 Salute.
Mammamia, quanto mi avete fatto ridere!!! Siete sempre fantastici! Buon anno ragazzi, i migliori auguri per un 2024 pieno di successi!
What a wonderful way to end one year and start another: a tipsy Eva. The deliciously delightful, always amusing Italian sweetheart brings a new level of enjoyment after a few Italian cocktails. Thank you both for an informative and totally entertaining video. A happy new year to you and best wishes for continued success, health, happiness, and love in the new year and beyond. 🎉
All the Garibaldi moments of the video are priceless!!! The explanations from Eva about his role in Italy unification and South America revolutions (Venezuela if I am not mistaken) are very true and meaningful, despute the tipsy context! Anyways a very interesting and different video about Italian cuisine. The aperitivo culture is really important.
This video is amazing 😂 I don’t support drinking a lot but it’s great to see you two relaxed and in a different light
This is probably my favorite video out of the entire catalog. Composure gone and it's your true selves!
Happy New Year guys! For many more recipes and laughs!

Happy New Year to my favorite couple on You Tube. As an Italian I appreciate that you show foods from different regions in Italy, best of luck to you both in your future endeavors.
What Harper call Ava’s drunken rants made complete sense, if you know a little Italian History, BRAVA Ava❤ also love all those drinks and happy new year to you both🎉
This has to be the most fun thing to watch....move from your serious all business educational teacher sides to your relaxed, fun, and silly sides...
Aparativo, please)))) and I do enjoy seeing your evolution from cocktail to cocktail. you definitely did not skip on them)))
I take you guys with me everywhere I go✅. Chat, cook, eat, repeat…what’s not to like✅❤️👋🇨🇦
Ouch, you didn't make any of my favourites: Bellini, Rossini, Mimosa, and Tintoretto! Sparkling and fruit are the festive ones 😂🎉 Happy New Year!!!
Great video. One can get 3 or 4 items and have a ton of different drinks. Loved it. Time to celebrate. May both of you have an amazing New Year and we will be right there with you.
Cin-cin! Thank you for another year of fabulous videos, recipes, and adventures. I appreciate you and wish you much happiness in the new year. Auguri!
Finally!!! I’ve been WAITING for the cocktail content from you!! Thank you! Also, partition to have Eva call all the ingredients in Italian so we can learn more vocabs 🙏🙏🙏
I wanna party with Harper and Eva!! Nothing crazy, just a relaxed, buzzy evening, listening to both of your stories. Happy New Year to the two of you and your families.
This video was a fun event to watch, plus I shared with a couple friends saying we need to get together soon and make these cocktails. 🎉😂
I loved this episode. Thank you for sharing the mixology. I really enjoyed that. I may try these. Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year ✨🥂🍷 Love watching you both, this show is fun! Blessings for 2024
YESSSSS. This is the episode I've been wanting for so long! Also, I would absolutely love to hear Eva talk about aperitivi/amari. Also, you gotta try all those drinks, but with Cocchi di Torino. It's got a really beautiful vanilla flavor. My favorite vermouth to throw in an Americano, for sure.
@samipratt1279

Antica Formula has even greater notes of vanilla than the Cocchi.
@Khvalheim10

@@samipratt1279 It's not the same, though. Cocchi is more floral and sweet, where Carpano is more herbal and bitter. I love both, but I think they are suited to different cocktails. For me, for example, I find that I enjoy Cocchi in an Americano more so than Carpano, but definitely prefer Carpano for things like a Manhattan.
Wow l’intelligenza di Eva mi lascia sempre a bocca aperta 💓 ed Harper è troppo simpatico e carino 🥰 ottima idea quella di fare una puntata sui cocktail, non immaginavo la storia dell’Americano. You guys are fantastic, happy new year 🥳
I love having Spritz with a typical Italian aperitivo when I am too busy to get home for dinner or lunch. Buon anno dal Salento ragazzi! 🍾🍹🍸
This is probably the most hilarious video you've ever made, we need more on Italian mixology
I really loved watching you guys in 2023. I thought it was very special when you were in Italy. Those were my favorite episodes of all. I hope you guys go back again next summer and do the same thing. Thank you for what you do happy new year.
Thanks for making me this week's Pasta Grammarian in Action! Yesterday was my birthday too, so I'm doubly thankful! 😊
This was great. I would love another video on some of the other amari. There are so many of them it would be great to see a general study of them. Another idea for a video is to show how Italians use spirits in desserts. I remember the anise smell from wafer cookies when I was growing up and assume now that it was sambuca. It would be great to see some dessert recipes that use Italian spirits to perfume the treats.
Happy new year!!! 🎉 And another fun fact: About the Garibaldi in a Mexican glass? There’s even more to it… so it turns out that Garibaldi’s grandson fought during the Mexican Revolution, and now the very famous mariachi square in Mexico City is named “Plaza Garibaldi”… so there’s that 🇮🇹🇲🇽 chin chin y salud!! 🥂
Buon Anno Nuovo Eva & Harper! Thanks for making the world a little brighter!🎆 Cin Cin 🍹🎉💖
Thanks for the laugh! Eva's hands are going absolutely wild by the last drink.
Enjoyed the video and a very Happy New Year to you both. In fact, thanks for all your videos during the year, you’re quite inspiring! I think you’ll find that bar snacks have mostly disappeared because (generally) men don’t wash their hands when they go to the loo! 😮
Yes! Yes! Do a video on aperitivi! Happy New Year!! 🎉🎉🎉
The Negroni has my vote since I do enjoy gin! But the Garibaldi might be a close second. Harper, great music accompaniment with the video. I'm making escarole and beans with sausage for my New Year's Eve festive dinner, followed by pork tenderloin with orange sauce, fennel and orange salad. Antipasti while we enjoy the drinks - vodka with olives. Buon Anno!
20:32 GARIBALDI is very well known in Mexico, because there is a plaza in his honor in Mexico City. What makes Plaza Garibaldi very special is that it’s widely known as a hub for mariachi bands, and many cantinas, and restaurants. Cheers for Garibaldi.!

It is not by chance that Garibaldi is called “the hero of two worlds”. Best wishes for a happy new year from Italy ! 🇮🇹👋🥂
Seeing Eva loosey goosey is 100% what I needed today. Happy new year!
Having learned the naughty words before learning my drinks... I still get a chuckle when I see 'pirlo' on a drink menu.
I love how campari cocktails come in tiny little bottles in Europe that look like mana potions. Always a good thing to have a few in your pocket for emergencies.
Bravissimi! Buon anno!
Such a fun video! I love how silly you guys got -especially Eva- after sampling all of the cocktails. Thank you guys for a great year of amazing recipes and history and laughs! Looking forward to watching what you’ll come up with in 2024! Happy New Year! 🥳🎉💖
I am from Bergamo and the classic aperitivo here is 'Campati col bianco'. We also called it '1in2': 1 bottle of campari (the single size, not the 1lt bottle) divided in 2 glasses, than fulled them with white wine. You can also do the same thing with red wine 'Campari col nero' or with a orange soda like Fanta 'Campari e spuma'.
Happy New Year, Harper and Eva!!❤
i just love you two! Buon Anno!
Lol, you guys laughed more with every drink. Happy New Year to you two!
Happy New Year!! Love you guys and your Videos!!
I NEEDED this laugh!!! Happy New Year you two!! 🥃🎉
Happy New Year! This was great
I just love you guys!! ❤
I loved it!!! Great video you two! Appia New Yeara!!
03:50 a proper *Spritz* is so fresh, so good! I prefer mine with 4 parts wine + 2 parts Aperol, and just a drop of sparkly water, because I love the taste of prosecco! Spritz is like Mojito: when it’s good, you love it! But when it’s bad, you can't even drink it! Those last 4 minutes of complete madness ... spot on! 😂😂 Happy New Year guys 🎉
Best video ever Auguri E buon anno ❤🎉
Happy New Year! Eva is lit.🤣
Eva is a doll! Happy new year! God bless!
Ok, this was hysterical and fun! Love your channel! 🎉
Happy new year's eve you guys/gals! Loved this episode!
Happy New Year! Love you both!
First thing I notice is that Harper and Eva normally share the food from one plate, but here, they have their own drinks. No wonder they're getting tipsy!
Loved the video!!!! God bless you both and Happy New Year ❤❤❤
Happy New Year Harper & Eva!
I thought you were going to break out the bucatini for straws, but you surprised me with the candela... Go big, or don't go at all! 🎉
Appreciate you two! Happy New Years, looking forward to your videos in 2024!
This video was everything I needed today! 😂😂😂😂😂
I don't think Ava was ranting or raving at all, and I found the little tidbits of Italian history to be very interesting!
Thank you for such an entertaining history lesson all in one. Happy New Year!
Auguri e grazie!!!! 🥂🍾
Happy New Year! Love all the stories about the drinks.
