Revisiting basics such as grip is so important. I know that its a feel thing with each golfer but grip pressure is just as important. I havent found a drill yet that teaches proper grip pressure.

Grip pressure is very important, but there is no proper grip pressure for everyone. I prefer to grip the club rather tight. That matches my personality and works for me. The most important aspect of grip pressure is that it is consistent shot to shot and day to day.

a little confusing, (video editor or cameraman should have start off with what to avoid, then go into what to do), but thanks, I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for sharing this video Michael

I don't understand why people say the heelpad is on top when it basically is at the side. You also can see that at the front view, the back of hand is facing target and that mirrors how the heelpad is in contact with the grip.If the heelpad would be on top then the grip would be extremely strong with the thumb point pointing away from target. Unless my definition of heelpad is not correctly but I mean the part between the pinky and the wrist, it is basically a tendon giving it structure.

Michael, I've heard that according to Mr. Hogan, there should be no to minimal pressure in the thumb and index finger of the trail hand in the grip. Can you confirm or elaborate your thoughts on this please. The Gentleman I heard it from referred to using a "pistol grip" on the trail hand when practicing.

The pistol grip drill is a great drill. If you cast the club from the top, you may be applying too much pressure to the thumb and index finger. If you are not casting, I don't mind a tighter grip pressure. My grip pressure is pretty tight in my swing.

Another Great Instructional Video! Oh how we forget all these basics. Why? I learned this so long ago, but we just get into bad habits. Things go wrong, so what do you we do, we play the losers National Anthem " My Way"! Then things really go south and we continue to make bad decisions fixing you golfing issues. We learn how to make up for your shortcomings. And Yep Now we are in trouble. Cheers

The basics are the most important thing. When you go wrong, fix the basics first. Great rule to live by.
