not on this particular move because some refs might actually not start the count until the ball is "picked up" on the second step of the move, which would come after the jab. The jab if done right can be a part of the crossover when done fast. I mean when coach drew shows it slow he has to grab the ball out of the live dribble but done fast in a drive, there's no way that jab wouldn't count as being part of the dribble. That's how Kyrie managed to keep using it in his olympic appearances as well.

The crossover eurostep is still confusing to me as how it doesn't count as travelling but I think (and maybe it just isn't shown well when doing the slow-mo) it is when crossing over, you're making the step before the ball comes into your hand. So at 2:55 when he breaks it down to "faking middle, outside, over top", the "middle" step or first step you have to do that step before the crossover ball finishes into your hand. Is that right?

Eurostep is legal in any league but I see a lot of commenters here that they have been called travelling violation for doing the euro step. Firstly, you may be doing it wrong. Anywhere in the world travelling is called whenever you had more than two steps after picking up the ball. The only difference is how they define "pick up" as basis in counting. So if you get called for travelling, either you are doing it wrong, or your opponents don't know how to count. Euro step is legal, it's the execution that really matters not to make more than two steps.

  • @beefcurrywithrice

It's so simple. You are allowed two steps after you gather your dribble, so your steps only start counting after you pick up your dribble. Every time just look at when the ball is gathered. You can take as many steps as you want as long as you don't carry the ball.

It's incredible to me how few people know anything about how traveling works. None of these are even close to traveling. They all use the exact same footwork as a standard layup - ball is picked up when pivot foot is established, pivot foot is lifted to make a step with other foot, and then jump off that step of other foot. 100% legal. Go actually look at the NCAA or high school rules - it is explicitly stated you can this.

EGTBasketball I play in the rain very fast ( I wear guards on at that time and cushioning my ankles n joints a bit so I dont get injured ) so in game my explosiveness is out the roof, sadly mom has stopped this due to higher grade studies n all and she says we cant take any risk so my explosiveness has decreased, any alternative exercise for explosiveness? Thx a lot
