Master of Puppets, solo piano, Scott D. Davis live in Fullerton, California
Scott D. Davis performs Master of Puppets by Metallica at the All-Star Jam to Benefit Chi Cheng of Deftones in Fullerton California.
I was honered to take part in this amazing benefit along with Members of Deftones, members of Korn, P.O.D., Suicide Silence, The Letter Black featuring Traa from P.O.D. on bass, Lit, Bobo of Cypress Hill with DJ Rhettmatic of the Beat Junkies with several surprise vocalists, Dave "The Snake" Sabo of Skid Row, an all star jam with Hail! and friends featuring Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater on drums, legendary bassist Dave Ellefson, Phil Demmel of Machine Head on guitar, Mark Anthony of The Letter Black on guitar & Ripper Owens on vocals, the new project featuring Dave Buckner of Papa Roach on drums, Joe Loeffler from Chevelle on bass & Marcos Curiel of P.O.D. on guitar, Jason Boyed of Audiovent, the Southtown Generals featuring Wuv of P.O.D., Stars Go Dim, Inhale Exhale, The Psycho Realm, and members of Pennywise.
Cheng was seriously injured in an automobile accident in November 2008. The accident left Cheng in a coma. He also suffered a near-fatal septicemia infection and underwent surgery to replace a bone flap in his skull that had been removed after the accident in order to relieve intracranial pressure. Since the accident, Cheng has been in a semi-conscious state. His family has accumulated an overwhelming amount of medical bills that their insurance cannot entirely cover.
The 39-year-old Cheng is noted as being a poet as well as a musician. In 2000, he released a CD of his poetry entitled The Bamboo Parachute.
Cheng has played with Deftones since the band's formation in 1988. The band's debut album - Adrenaline - was released in 1995. In 2000, the band went platnum with the release of White Pony. Go support Chi at www.oneloveforchi.com

Third... Amazing btw
el papadario el kadaria pianistisimo
I call you,MASTER OF PIANO!
i REALLY DON'T THINK ANYONE CAN DENY METALLICA WROTE SOME BEAUTIFUL MUSIC!!!!
100%
Awesome. More people should play metal, and rock music in general, on the piano, instead of focusing solely on Jazz, pop and classical. The keyboard is underrated in this genre.
@iwanttoseethegoryshi It's not about beating the electric guitars. This really shows the magnitude of Metallica and their genious (James' actually) and how affects musicians despite the instrument they play or their musical orientation. And I'm not talking only about Davis here...
@CarpeDiemSanDiego He's the master at Piano :D
4:40 OMG xD
this isn't supposed to happen, very, very good.
It's a pity this is not a professional recording :( Great job!
@marcalmondsoftcell I think the instrument here actually makes a big difference. This accoustic piano has a very powerful and rich base, which contributes a lot to overall performance. The base notes simulated on an electric piano generally sounds pretty flat, which is one of its biggest weakness. Besides that, this is also a better arrangement of the orignal song.
OH MY GOD WHY DID YOU SKIP THE SOLO???? i was waiting this whole video to hear that! :-(
Come crawling faster obey your Master...
the awkward moment you realize, that you will never be able to move your fingers THAT fast!
Hey, you guys skipped the solo-part!! :( ( 3:52 ) *disappointed at video editor*
I think this is what they shud teach pupils in Musical schools for piano section "metallica"... METALLICA MOJ DOBAR DRUGAR!! :D
Sounds like evil ragtime music! LOL
metallica can be proud :D (lol people singing, like in metallica concerty :P)
seems too quiet! :( But hes great!
4:54 i came
Not his best performance in my opinion, but still very good.
The croud has no respect for the artist ! Well played.
See this: watch?v=HIJPxxoF7dw Vika is really a master.
OH NO HE CUT HIS HAIR D:
Scott is better in all ways. He's technically great, and Vika seems a bit rigid. It isn't a wrong note played in one song the most important thing...and have you heard his own compositions? He's the man
I strongly suspect that Mozart would have preferred the same application of music on piano, had he lived today.
Scott seems more informal , he connects with his audiences better and Vika is technically more accurate .
Vkgoeswild might be superior technically, but I prefer Scott's arrangement and style.
he don't seem happy
Nobody likes of pianists, all love drummers!
Much better rendition, search vkgoeswild Master of Puppets in Zurich
i wish people would shut up
@dash1996 You must not play piano or listen to Metallica if you don't think this is very skillful.
NOTE TO CAMERAMAN.......camera OFF crowd.....camera ONLY ON genius Scott D. Davis.......PLEASE....Hes shredding and you missed half of it! noone really cares about drunk crowds. A few crowd shots is ok, too many here. just my opinion.
those piano has terrible sound actually , the older ones are much better . Nice performance Scott

Much mistakes, and the solo sucks.
