This feels more like DR with every trailer, and I'm totally good with that

It's kind of crazy that two stylish detective games got shown in the same direct at the same time, and then Layton and Ghost Trick also both got announced to be coming back at the same time. Mystery fans will definitely be eating well this year.

This game and Deca Police both look really interesting and unique. Wish Mato Anomalies was also shown during Direct.

Shinigami = Junko Enoshima

This is definitely a sleeper hit for me. The style and amount of fun here seems unparalleled.

If you like the style, I recomend looking at Danganronpa, the games. Its made by the same author (the music and visual design should also be very familiar)

I know some people are making jokes that the Yuma is Makoto's and Kyoko's son, but after the BS that happened in V3, I wouldn't put it pass them to actually connect the two series. That being said, I think outside of an Easter egg, I'm pretty sure this won't be connected with Danganronpa.

Yeah there’ll probably be a little reference to monokuma or something. Like a poster sonewhere. Or maybe a note written by one of the characters. Not more than that though.

I hope it's completely unrelated. I think Danganronpa ended exactly how and when it should've, and I'd get pretty mad if they tried to continue it.

This was a a neat surprise during the direct, looks like a promising game!!

I’ve been looking forward to this since the announcement! Now the release date is finally in reach!

Hot take: Danganronpa v3 is the best in the series, and the ending was very bold and paid off. The tiny hints throughout the games leading up to the ending was really cool after the reveal and seeing how the dots connected. I think the worst part about the ending is that it doesn’t really allow for more games in the universe, but I think three games is fine and I wouldn’t want them to milk the series anyway. Anyways I’m excited to play raincode, I think it’s gonna scratch that little itch I have for Danganronpa.

I loved the game(specially the characters, Himiko ftw) and thought the ending worked well for it. But you say that there were things in the other games that hint to that ending? I always though it was more of a retcon. Specially beacause I feel like trying to apply the logic of the ending to the rest of the games gets you to some weird conclusions. Like, was Junko just an employee like Tsumugi? And what about Mukuro? You'd think not, considering what her role ended up being...

DR2 and DR3 had excellent second to last trials. Both had me on the edge of my seat. DR3 had a better final and first trial than DR2. But DR2 had better sandwhich trials. Charcater wise, I prefered DR2 as well, even if the surviving members in DR3 were better than the surviving members of DR2. Overall I have to say... DR1 is the best! Pupupupu! (JK, DR2 and DR3 are good for different reasons)

I love how it feels like it can totally stand on its own without being known as a IP from the creator of Danganronpa, yet it still has a little bit of its flair in some elements of this game.

For most games i'd agree, but with a mystery game like this I prefer not getting spoiled too much. I already get the impression that if you are into games like Danganronpa and Ai: The Somnium Files, then you'll definitely enjoy this too.

@@averycarter4079 Well I mean Spike Chunsoft did some demo for Danganronpa that is kinda entirely different plot from the main game so if they make a demo for raincode I bet they will make a demo that wont spoil the game plot

Hope it's as good as the kirigiri light novels since they have similar premises.

I'm glad that instead of just the mind-scape the mystery labyrinths seem to reflect the thought process and problem solving. It's a classic concept but the mind palace concept was getting same-y.
