En el minuto 13:42 Lynch dice que "Hollywood se ha esparcido como una enfermedad en el mundo" y tiene toda la razón ya que ha destruido toda posibilidad de poder ver un cine alternativo que nos muestre otra forma de apreciar y expresar el arte cinematográfico ya que lamentablemente se ha consolidado como el parámetro universal obstaculizando cualquier visión independiente que nos muestre una concepción del mundo totalmente diferente a la que estamos acostumbrados.

Que comentario más ridículo, puedes ver cualquier tipo de cine extranjero en festivales, y estas incorrecto, gran parte de la convención cinematográfica viene del europeo y del estadounidense, entonces siempre encontrarás formas similares de hacer cine donde lo que cambie será la perspectiva y la forma de contar la historia, porque obviamente no es lo mismo ver cine francés que cine español o que cine argentino o que cine mexicano Si tú solo ves películas comerciales pues obviamente nunca verás una visión en el contar las historias de forma distinta porque precisamente el cine comercial está hecho para vender y ser digerible, entonces no, que Hollywood haya hecho una super expansión de su producto no implica que imponga reglas que ya existen desde hace mucho dadas por cineastas europeos y asiáticos

@@luisdoinel4115 Cierto que aun hay mucha variedad de cine en el mundo pero tienes que buscarla e invertirle tiempo y dinero y no todo mundo puede darse ese lujo. La persona promedio si quiere ir al cine no tiene mas opcion que ver estupideces de Disney a menos que investigue y viaje a un lugar donde haya una cineteca o literalmente busque las peliculas piratas en internet o algun mercado callejero y las veas en tu casa (por otro lado solo porque alguien tenga acceso a una cineteca no quiere decir que vayan a haber peliculas buenas). No importa si vives en Londres o en un pueblo pequeño en España los cines pequeños poco a poco han ido cerrando o siendo comprado por las grandes cadenas de cine (Que son gobernadas de facto por Hollywood) lo que reduce el acceso y/o el interes a las peliculas que no son de Disney para la persona promedio. Claro que ahora todo a estado cambiando y va a seguir cambiando con el mercado del Streaming que afortunadamente le ha dado muchas oportunidades a directores que no son "director for hire" pero no cabe duda de que Hollywood va a seguir haciendo su mejor esfuerzo por tratar de homogeneizar el mundo del cine, asi como en la musica las disqueras quieren que todo sea la misma mierda de Hip-Hop/R&B y como toda la variedad que existia de videojuegos y plataformas se ha convertido mayormente en el mercado "triple a" de juegos de casino para niños disfrazados de juegos muticonsola.

Mira Facundo ojala se cumpla tu sueño de estudiar cine. Si prácticas MT, puede que encuentres el camino correcto para escribir un guión cinematográfico de tu propia vida donde tus deseos se hacen realidad. Interesting to hear him distance himself from surrealism and all the typical influences that are assumed. I think he's actually one of the last Romantics...or approaches the avant g/surrealism with a Romantic spirit. Not the postmodern criticism and activism of our soulless artists today.

I don't know what you mean by Romantic vs Surrealism. Do you mean Romanticism from the 19th century? And "postmodern" "criticism"? so is postmodern art criticizing? And what does postmodern criticize? I always thought that postmodern art is - besides many other things - a patchwork of several periods of our past. And postmodernism has come of age now, too, I would guess maybe by being 50 years old. So art today is not necessary post modern just because it has been produced after 1950 or so... But how do you explain the absence of a soul of "our" today's artists? I know that it is possible to do art without actually having a soul, computer algorithms do that in a quite unbothered manner... it's still kind of nice sometimes...

@@igelbasis Of course there are still artists with soul and quite a lot of great art being made today. I think the poster is just fed up with the emotionally distant and callous nature that permeates the fine arts sphere and corporate interest led media. postmodernism is a movement in art directly in criticism of modernism which was also a movement/art period. This is why we say contemporary art instead of modern art because modern refers to a specific set of artistic ideas and a specific age. Post modernism is literally characterized by critique of the modernists and of society, which was badly needed at the time but has sense bred a culture of cynicism in the fine art world and in art in general. ye, right. it was kinda bit cynical, sometimes dark, but i like the oversized suits, bladerunner and such, but i'm also not an expert. and yet i think today's art and culture is much brigther and diverse than the 1970s and 80s. but even here i cannot make a valid statement, and i'm acutually not quite right saying that, except that it has become a lot more diverse, with all that technology that wasn't there in the 80s. Just recently a danish artist was comissioned by a museum to create some paintings, and he gave them blank canvases with a note saying "take the money, and run!" (aprox. $80,000). Its funny, bold, brilliant, properly criminal, rude and something in my heart or brains wants to reflect on it. looking at big companies in silicone valey, "move fast, break things", or conartist on instagram. or political leaders. And it could be possible that he didn't even mean to make any statements and just wanted the money. But that again is merly my opinion, nothing more. And i was actually just replying to the person above mixing "surrealism","postmodernism", with soullessness and adding "activism". so then my brain wants to conclude that activism is souless.... you get what i mean? well, i suppose i wouldn't mind soulless activism rather than having no activism at all. and it also doesn't matter much what side or cause, it's always better than being silenced... there's a piece by jaqulin george "just a market", ther's some art that is also activism, considering that she could not have spoken out directly or loudly and decided to do this instead. cheers.

One good thing I can listen on my smart phone and look at the screen and then look at and work on my project, at the same time.
