Why do they call it Mexican Wave ? Anyone knows the exact origin ? I know that at least in 1983 it was being used massively during some college football games in the US. Thanks and cheers to everybody.

I think it’s because it was popularised during the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, even though it wasn’t invented there.
