MASSIVE AROID collection to fall in love ❤️ | Discover the art of conservation (Subtitle/CC on!)
Welcome to the Noah’s ark for plants in the form of a sprawling 5,000-hectare conservation center proudly displaying the name of Dr Cecilia Koo botanic conservation center. This asylum for tropical and subtropical plants is located in the picturesque PingDong county in Southern Taiwan. With an ambitious goal of housing a staggering 40,000 targeted species, this facility is on the way to become the largest shelter for the plant kingdom on Earth by year 2027.
Our journey in this botanical utopia spans across two captivating episodes. Today’s episode is focused on YOUR favorite plants, the aroid family. Next week, we will embark on an exploration of begonias, orchids, and the crucial work of freezing plant DNA for conservation .
In this episode, we are guided by Mr Dai on a tour of the large aroid conservatory. where over 1,300 aroids live. Seemingly endless rows of manmade plant poles taller than houses were erected with determination to grow these aroids to their fullest potential size. I shall never forget this backdrop, and neither will you.
You will be captivated by Mr. Dai's wealth of knowledge and infectious enthusiasm, as he enlightens us on the intricate art of conservation, plant care, and propagation. No stone is left unturned in our quest for understanding, as I eagerly bombarded Mr. Dai with botanical inquiries, driven by the curiosity of a child-questioning the hows, whys, whens, and whats of it all.
You will walk out of this episode with new knowledge on caring for your own collection, and develop a profound appreciation for the remarkable wonders of the plant kingdom

Shaun, how are you? I had been missing a few of your videos for a while and decided to tune into this video while I'm knitting and up at 12:58 am on the East Coast of the United States. The beginning of the video already captured my serious attention. All I can say is, see the power of God for good in Man (FeMale, Male). The statement made at the top of the video was such a pleasing word to hear about the conservation of plants. Not for profit but for respect of this planet's plants. This is your niche and enjoyment. Is it? Seeing endless works of Creation (Plants) and sharing that with your viewers. Thank you and may you be rewarded by the Great One handsomely. I hope your family is blessed at this time. Peace.

Wow! 😮 One of the greatest collections i've seen so far. But sorry, I must dissagree with the statement that our (Asian) Aroid don't have spectacular physical characteristics, that not as interesting as South America's. 🙏🏼😊 (I mean, just look at 'our' Alocasia, Scindapsus, Rhaphi, Pothos, Epip-, Schisma-, Homa-, Apoballis, Holochlamys, Amor-, and still much much more Aroid that maybe many people never seen before. And most of them we can find in Indonesia too. ) Asian or American, they have their unique characteristics, and both of them are wonderfull. 🙏🏼😊

You put slow release fertilizer in a tea bag, and Kinda hang it on the moss pole or on top of the growing media. Each time it is moistened it will release nutrients in small doses 😀
