When we were approached by a long-time customer in 2017 about building an ultimate home theater, we knew this was going to be a fun project. The client had a small theater we installed in 2010 and had upgraded a couple of times. The couple was building a new garage and wanted to make the room above the garage a state-of-the-art theater with as big a screen as possible. Seating for up to 18 people was also on their wish list. They wanted to try and re-use some of their current gear in the new system. We took them to hear a JBL Synthesis home theater system we had recently completed in a large room and after that, there was no question, they wanted a JBL Synthesis system!

I love deep base but there is also to much base too. I am using two 12” Klips subs built into a large hollow insulated box that surrounds the entire screen, and my theater will blow the hanging ceiling tiles out of the tracks and that is with insolation on top of them. I can make your nose itch from the base, then there are some seats with Burt kickers that add that much more, the other seats I have are DBOX. But when does it become to much base? I see people with 4 x 18” subs or more. My Audio sensors are already telling me that my sub levels are to high.

What about the frame interpolation feature, see what it does with the parachute scene from The first "Kingsman'" movie "The Secret Service" ? So far, I've never come across an algorithm, or rather a video card with enough power to deal with that scene. Lots of severe ghosting when the actors are falling fast in front of the sky filled with clouds. If it can handle that I will be very impressed !

The Envy currently does not do any motion processing. However, they are working on what they anticipate will be the world's first AI-based motion interpolation algorithm, which has the potential to open new doors for MI, and that based on what we have seen them do in other areas of video processing that if anyone has a chance to pull off new innovation in this space it would be them. When I did mine I made sure I had the latest in sound processing. Atmos is great but Auro-3D is better (when you can find anything using it) but is still helps with all the additional channels. When you go full Auro 3D you have 25 channels and it will try and use them. With speakers high and low in the room, as well as ear level, your going to get sound from everywhere including from 6 Atmos ceiling speakers. If I where to put the volume at level 70, you would start to worry about hearing loss but still no distortion as the speakers are THX certified and have a .003 distortion certification. . My projection system is capable of ip to 5000 Lumens and is good up to a 300” screen or 25’, just wish I had a space large enough for that But for now until I get my new building built for my dedicated theater house, I will have to be happy with my 12’ screen and the power dropped to low on the projector. I live the 8K capable system but again hard to find any content in 8K, at least for now. I went with the Zippitti 4K Pro system as I already have a large Blu-ray and 4K Library, and to be honest I have been burned by Amazon with Digital content as they locked my account because of hackers and locked me out of my 3,000.00-5.000.00 library I had there, not ever again will I buy digital content, if I can’t have the physical media then to hell with the movie. The room I have is 17’ 3” x 30’ and have 10’ ceilings, problem was I have a door to another room on the left which cuts down my screen size. Took me 30 years to finally get my dream theater, wanted one ever since I went to Bjorns in San Antonio when they were by the airport and walked into their THX certified home theater demo they had, can still remember the demo they were using, Yanni Live at the Acropolis, at that point I fell in love with home theater. I was so amazed to see how great it was back then, and today my system is way better than that even was, but then again Atmos was not even a thought at that time, THX was the best. I remember they wanted 70k for that setup and I just knew I would never be able to have something like that, and this was back in 1990, that would be 130k now. Sorry for the book, just had to share that with you all.

Thanks for your comments. As an FYI in case you do ever increase your screen size most projector companies way overstate how large a screen you can have. There is a great app called video calc that will tell you roughly what you can expect. If your current screen has a gain of 1.3 which is pretty typical you currently have about 362 nits which is great. If the screen was 300, 83 nits which would be very dark. Thanks for watching

I think you have your immersive formats mixed up. Auro3D maxes out at 13.1 (DTS: X is up to 12.1), if the soundtrack supports it. Unlocked home Dolby Atmos soundtracks with 3D objects are capable of up to 34.1.
how in the world does the house not fall apart with all threater bass I got 1 15in klipsch sub and sometime I think my home is gonna come apart plus the people out side the home sometimes call the cops and they live far away i just dont get how some one can have so many subs its great but some time i can barley breath with my 1 sub and it 100 percent more bass then a rear theater

Josh, thanks for your comments. Having multiple subwoofers allows each one to have to work less, so the bass you get just sounds far more effortless and very even across all the seats, but when there is slam, you can literally feel it. The exterior of this theater is all brick and insulated very well, so there is not a noise issue for the neighbors. Thanks for watching!

The most important question is did he know his socks were going to be in the video?!?!?!?!? Ha!
Me: That's probably 10K for the projector alone. Checks the projector price Also me: Holly F, I could get an Audi for that price

Yes, it is a very serious theater. Thanks for watching
I don't know sir why white screen used at theatre you build is white screen better than CLR grey screen this is my concern plz

Grey screens are typically used when there is light in the room. With a room that has controlled lighting, a white screen is usually the better choice.
Awesome, this is better then IMAX!! . Just not sure why a 5000nit projector requires tone mapping of 4000nit max content.

The Sony 5000 is 5000 lumens. It might produce 100 nits on a screen this large. That is the issue with all front projection, none of them come close to the nits you need for HDR, which is why the Envy makes a huge difference

@@AudioAdvice interesting. Thanks
Freaking awesome home theater, who said money doesn't buy you happiness Lolol. I do have a question why not use a JVC projector? I thought those were the best in the business. Also why not use SVS subs also the best in the business?? Great video
@AudioAdvice

Thanks! JVC makes great projectors but they do not have anything that can light up a screen this large. The Sony 5000 has 5000 lumens. And SVS makes great subs but they do not come close to the sound of these big JBL's driven by a Mark Levinson amp, but granted, you are talking about almost 3 times the price of the most expensive SVS.

@@AudioAdvice thanks for the reply. Can I ask your opinion on Emotiva amps? And why they didn't make the use case for this home theater??

@@richmax13 Audio Advice does not sell Emotiva. They make a decent value product, but Mark Levinson is in a different league entirely. We view them as more similar to Rotel. Hope this helps.
