    So true. It is the hardest cycle. If I were a psychiatrist I would require my patients to include having help with house cleaning as part of the treatment plan. It really can be a make or break situation some weeks for how a person is doing emotionally. House cleaning and depression treatment needs to go hand in hand. You can have a great day and be doing well with depression symptoms but if you get home and your house is messy it makes you feel hopeless and unmotivated causing a spiral into a long period of doing poorly. If your house is clean and you have a bad day you really can't do basics to keep it clean so it gets dirty again... Leading to the feeling hopeless...again

    Yeah it's horrible. I just got around to cleaning one of my "pits of despair" a room in my house I slept in before I went into treatment for alcohol addiction. When I got out the addiction was gone but the depression never went away. So I closed the door and pretended it wasn't there. Barely manage to stay on top of laundry or cleaning or anything. Definitely helps when you do manage to clean but the struggle is real. Then it's a matter of keeping it clean, and the vicious cycle repeats.

I am always impressed when she gets these results so fast! And I used sponges and paste :) She is just amazing!❤ Of course I know those movies are a bit edited and made faster but total timing for one flat is mostly 1-3 days so it means ovens must be done quickly! That's the thing about depression and mental health. It's a never-ending cycle of being depressed, and because you're depressed your environment becomes a mess, and then that just causes more anxiety and depression. There's correlation between how clean your environment is and your mental health. I can attest that when my room starts to get to the point where I can't find anything or there's just piles of trash everywhere when I'm depressed, I just start to feel even more anxious and depressed. I think when your space is clear and clean, your life is a lot less stressful and dark. I think dirty rooms and houses just add an unneeded stressor to someone's mind. Then because they're so stressed about it, it becomes a mountain that they don't even want to think about climbing because the thought of trying gives them too much anxiety. That's a personal experience of mine. I get so stressed about things that I just completely avoid them. Then I fall into a deeper pit. Basically, a never-ending circle of bad decisions and pain, really. We are our own worst enemies. As someone with OCD I've just had to face the fact that I'm going to have to face my fears every single second of every single day to be "normal." It's not just gonna happen magically. I've learned that once you break that cycle and circle of never-ending anxiety, even if it's just a small thing to upset the balance of it, it gets a little bit easier. This girl's small step was to even reach out and get help from Auri. Admitting and being brave enough to let another person in to help the situation is actually a very good step towards getting better. Like they say with addiction, and this pertains to a lot of situations in life, the first step is admitting that the way you're doing things or things are going isn't working and is hurting more than helping. It's a big step. This girl should be proud of herself that she was able to dig herself out of her situation and was willing to let somebody help, despite the embarrassment and shame. I think that's why a lot of people don't get help. I sure know that my mental illness, OCD, can be quite embarrassing and admitting what I do and how it affects me to outsiders. This girl has made a major step and again, should be very proud of herself.

    As someone with severe clinical depression and anxiety, I just want to say thank you for helping your followers who are stuck in the space of wanting to get better with their mental health but are either too scared to start or don't know where to start. Not everyone is able to wake up and say "today I am going to clean up everything caused from my depression"...so thank you for helping

  • @sushibunnycosplay

    @Jason Epstein sorry you feel that way. Everyone's depression and mental illness is different. Telling someone that has fallen into a depression that them letting their environment get bad is "unacceptable and disgusting" is not ok. You need to keep that to yourself. You may never let things get bad but that's just you...not everyone else is like that. Can you imagine if the owner of this home comes and sees your comment? You really don't know what is going on in the home owners life and what she is or has gone through. This really isn't the space for negativity and your comment is cold and hurtful.

  • @sushibunnycosplay

    @sushibunnycosplay

    @Jason Epstein then this channel isn't for you bud. Aurikatariina helps all different kinds of people clean their homes, many with mental health issues whether it be depression/anxiety/bpd/adhd etc. You seem to be very angry by this though and wonder why you would watch videos that make you angry? Why would I belittle someone for having extra weight on their bodies when I myself clinically classify as overweight? But thank you for assuming what type of person I am...that in itself shows what type of person you are. The problem that you're struggling to grasp is that I'm not the type of person who shows sympathy only to people who I relate to. I in fact show sympathy to all people going through struggles because I always try to put myself in their shoes. Putting yourself in someone elses shoes opens your eyes to the bigger picture that peoples struggles come in all different shapes and sizes.

  • @sushibunnycosplay

    @sushibunnycosplay

    @Jason Epstein oh, I do show sympathy for you because it seems like there's a reason you can't show sympathy for others who you know nothing about when it comes to people whose lives spiral out of control due to mental health issues. Again, I show compassion and sympathy to everyone, whether they offend me or not... maybe even more so to people who try to offend me or show rudeness to me on purpose because it can only mean that they are hurting inside. But have a good day further and thanks for the interesting conversation.

    @Jason Epstein dude, if you need someone to talk to, I'd gladly chat with you. I'm not a certified therapist or anything but would gladly sit and discuss how you're feeling. I'm here if you want to talk about things you're struggling with and I can give advice to the best of my ability or even if you don't want advice and just want to vent. All I'm saying is, your original response to my comment came off as very cold and harsh toward people who are unable to keep their lives together due to mental illness. It made me question why you'd watch these videos then if they only make you angry at people with mental health issues or angry at people who are understanding of those types of situations.

    My depression has controlled my life for almost 10 years. My house was a nightmare. An absolute nightmare. It was literally making me mentally and physically ill. I wish I had had someone like her to help me. It took me 2 months but I threw everything away, sold my house, and moved. Ive started over fresh and today for the first time in 10 years I can say that I worked 8 hours, cleaned my entire house, cooked dinner, put away the left overs, and did the dishes. I know I'll always struggle with my mental health but starting over has helped me so much. Im so thankful that I had the opportunity to start fresh at 30. I wish everyone could and I wish everyone knew someone like this lady who could help.

    @@lifeisgoodjohn316 if you keep living in a place that is this gross, you're gonna feel that way. When everything is clean and you can organize the things again as you want to, it gives you a sense of worth. It makes you want to clean up after yourself. That said. It takes a lot of time! I'm 24 and got a fresh start when I got into college and now I have 4 roommates... it's very easy for me to clean after myself in the public spaces like bathroom and kitchen but my room still gets bad all the time. I thankfully have a social worker who works with me on this and it takes a loooong time. But when you start organizing the things like you want to, it gets better. Also therapy is very very important! You might need medication if it's really bad. It's really something that is extremely hard to get out of when you're alone, so try to get someone to help you. Even better if it's permanent help until you can manage bit by bit and at some point everything on your own ❤

    My family would never understand why I'd have such a mess in my bedroom when I was a teenager, they'd take photos of it, they'd invite the family over to see it... It's heartwarming to see someone so non-judgmental and eager to help! After all, it's not laziness, but a terrible illness that people still need more education on. I hated that mess, but felt too overwhelmed to tackle it. I'd clean it up every now and then when I had guests over (once per quarter tops), but I'd never be able to keep it tidy. I felt like a failure because it didn't seem like that much effort to pick up the rubbish I created consistently... Unsurprisingly after moving out I'm so much better about it even though I'm still in queue for my first therapy session and arguably have more problems to deal with (and now I also suffer from terrible anxiety ha). Sometimes it's better to have 0 support rather than -100. 👌

The person who owns that place is ill and overtime, things piled up and became overwhelming for them. By doing this service and being kind about it, she is helping them at least a little. It's true you also need to be willing to help yourself and seek help, but telling someone who's ill who's trying to get better the opposite and making them feel even worse doesn't make sense

I feel like I’m depressed ( I intend on seeking help soon) and it just makes full of hope that I can actually do the tasks I’ve been putting off for months. And I know that my house isn’t to the extent of hers, but it’s still a challenge. It’s very motivating to see that bigger messes can be cleaned. I just feel kinda embarrassed and ashamed about everything. I normally just lay in bed beating myself up about things I could be doing, but I just want listen to sad music and watch the same tv series over and over. But you’ve given the lift to achieve what I want to, so I thank you.

    That’s great! I too have battled with depression and one of the most hurtful things I’ve heard from my own family is you’re lazy why don’t you get up and do something with your life. Mind you pre- depression I was a full time nursing student and worked over 60 hours a week. Sure I may have been a bit junky but NEVER disgusting or lazy. Instead of asking hey, I’ve noticed a huge change in your behavior are you okay? I only got ridiculed. There were days I didn’t bathe, eat, brush my hair or step foot out of my room. I wanted to just lay there and die. One Sunday morning I was forced out of the house to go to church and Fortunately I went. I zoned in and out of the sermon not really paying attention. After closing the pastor whom I have never seen before just comes to me and tells me there was a sad/depression and suicidal spirit on me. I was shocked because we’ve never seen him before and I’m like how could he know. He then began to tell me how much Jesus loves me and that I would be fine and how to get over it. I slowly but surely began to get my life back and it’s been about 2 years now. I just want to say I commend anyone that has battled depression and overcome it.

    I feel so much for the resident here. As someone with severe depression too, I know all too well how messy a house can get when you just don't have the energy to do anything. It can also be incredibly difficult to take the step of admitting that you need help to clean up, not to mention opening yourself up to the possible judgement (even though professional cleaners who are good at their jobs don't judge) of allowing another person to see the mess. I hope this young lady has received the care she needs and is doing better now she has a clean home. As for this cleaner, she is a legend. The idea she can actually find fun in tackling such a big job is amazing.

    I found myself crying on this one. I have been cleaning on my depression house, my side of the bedroom in particular in the recent months. I keeps getting bad again but not as bad as it was. My parents have helped me a lot, my husband has cleaned a lot but the fact is that between my mental health and physical health and my husband’s health and the fact that he works, things just get messy. Partly we are simply slobs and we raised two slobs (they are amazing people in all other areas but the truth is that we are all slobs). But we are not this slobby! If there were no chronic illnesses or mental illness then things would look way different! No one wants to be embarrassed of their home. No one wants to be ashamed of their home. If we had the power we would change it. I have been slowly coming out of my depression with a lot of work with a psychiatrist and I am feeling more ready to tackle these messes, but I’m ashamed (which depresses me and sends me) and I think to myself all the time “What kind of person let’s things go this bad?” “I’m awful because my husband is at work and I am laying here motionless. Shouldn’t I be able to just do it all anyway? Why can’t I do it all anyway? Why am I so tired? What is wrong with me? Other people aren’t like this!” Watching this I see that I’m not alone and that the answers to all of those questions is simple: A sick person both mentally and physically in my case. But it doesn’t have to define me. I can clean it up and every time I clean up one little mess, I’ll be washing away a little more of the depression ick and embracing a fresh, clean new start. Thank you SO much!

    @Johnson Breyer so sorry you’re in that situation. I hope you get the support you need. No condemnation. However, you may need to face some serious pain done to you or something that you need to own up to. Either way, God will hear a serious, sincere prayer about the matter. No matter how bad the situation, God helps a truly sincere person. It may take time to become sincere, because we humans generally have trouble facing or real issues, but God is patient and long Suffering, and He knows if you’re sincere or not. Sometimes I have to admit to Him that I’m not sincere enough, and that I want to become more sincere and truly willing to obey Him- that I’m willing to be made willing, and I think He accepts that.
