A MASS haka at the Turanganui Schools Maori cultural festival finished what organisers said was a highly successful non-competitive festival. Children from 73 early childhood centres, pre-schools, kohanga reo and primary schools took part in the five-day event.“We were down on numbers a little but it was an excellent week,” said chairman John Ingram. “To see the enjoyment from the children and their parents and other supporters was special, and the standard of performing was high.”
