Literally the other day I went to class (diving class) and wanted to see if I could take out my contacts and still see underwater. I’ve done it before when I was younger so I hoped I could do it now. Nope! I guess I need a prescription mask. Too bad I have a Hollis M1 😭😂

I like your videos, but when it comes to buying lenses, I go to Copeland's dive shop, because they are a 45 minute drive away, and you guys are an 8 hour flight away from where I live. Keep up the great videos though, I like watching them and I'm all the way over here in Texas.

So I’m new to this channel but have been binge watching. My eyes are -3 so should I just use lenses?

I'm -1.25 on the left and -2.00 on the right and I recently invested in a pair of precut lenses for my mask (Cressi Focus). Even if you're eyesight is perfectly fine underwater without any correction, they may be worth it for you so you can see at the surface and on the deck before donning your glasses again, that's why I got them. No need to risk your safety and comfort when the whole set costs less than $100 right? But that's just my two cents, hope I may have helped.

I'm new to your channel. I like what I've seen so far. I was quite interested in diving for many years and had inquired about that as a career. There were a few problems. I had recently started taking water pills for high blood pressure. Thus frequent urination. IBS is another. A scuba diving course of course is required. The biggest problem however was and still is,... I can't swim. Sounds obvious that I would need to learn that first, but my thinking was: maybe I could learn it with the diving gear. As a boy, while taking lessons, I was briefly pinned on the bottom of the pool and since then I could never learn to breath during swimming. I never got over that fear of inhaling a lot of water. So I never passed. Scuba diving is still a great interest that was forgotten. My question is: would it be possible to learn scuba diving first? I would have little problem (I think) outside of poor conditioning if I had a guarantee that I would not aspirate.

LittleShaun Hughes Swimming skills are required but you don’t need to be great. Dive courses will teach you how to adjust your weight and trim so that you only need to use your fins to move. If its that much of a concern though just visit a local pool and take swimming lessons. Safe diving!

Hi from South Africa. I have multifocals with a strong anti glare and a just as strong tint (you know, changes quickly according to the light). I have epilepsy and my eyes are sensitive to light. My Optometrist told me contacts and goggles won't work for me because I absolutely need the tint and anti glare. And that swimming goggles are way too small to fit my prescription lenses. So, here in South Africa, I just wonder if my Optometrist can fit my prescription lenses into scuba goggles since they are bigger so I can swim with ease? I love swimming and for now the only option is just cool down in the pool without moving too much with my glasses on, and that sucks!

Hi, I too have astigmatism and was wondering if you have found a viable option/solution for this. Thanks

I love the show, I am a rentry into the sport and want to buy the atomics venom mask with the special coatings unimpared with custom lenses with out the arc coatings. I do not want to try diving in contacts, with all the sloshing going on.
