My girlfriend and I are from the Netherlands. We were touched by this most beautiful song during an amature ballet performance where this song was used. We had to search for a translation because we dont speak arabic. Now we listen to it over and over again. Thank you for this amazing music.

I feel like knowing Mashrou' Leila is a blessing and I'm so glad. Hamed's voice is so, so, so beautiful!

The song came out at the darkest lowest point of my life.. I’m glad that I made it to the other side.. Depression is a real black hole, If you know Some one , who stopped talking To you, going out looked suddenly outa of shape.. Please look for them ask about them make sure they are ok Your call maybe the only difference that Halted them from pulling the trigger

It's been 5 years and I'm still so touched whenever I hear this song. I'm still learning Arabic and don't speak much yet - but even if the literal meaning of the lyrics was unknown, the power of this music makes any translation redundant, the feeling is understood with the heart, it is above words!! Thank you Mashrou' Leila for this experience.

How much this piece of genius music is representing the actual state of mind of Lebanese under the corrupted government , and the severe economic crisis. we are really upside and down and have the feeling of severe depression and needs the hands of some Masih, a savior that will get us out of this rough and misleading period . Every time we have the impression that we are getting out, we dive back into the deep insanity of our politicians and so on. Awesome music, that spreads all over my skin and get into every single neurons, and I just cant help shivering. when I look into the darkness of the future waiting for us and for our children, the music and the lyrics makes more sense and drive through an awkward feeling of weakness, injustice. The more the music runs, it is like a MANTRA, that brings me into a state of non gravity, and I become like a hit bird , flying up and down , seeking help , searching for a branch of tree in a desert, searching for an island in the deep of an agitated ocean, surrounded by danger from every side. What a fate, what a fate . to live and die in this piece of land without peace, without internal peace. Such a pitty .

Every time I hear this song my soul goes to "Marrikh" and comes back.. Your music, your words, everything about this band is just a piece of art! Proud to be Lebanese and to have this kind of art among us

I just listened to this on repeat for four times. I fear of losing my diabetic mum to Coronavirus and it kills me to the point that it's not even explainable. I even feel ashamed to feel so. It's always been like a guilt, to think that she got diagnosed when she was pregnant with me. This song helps. I mean at least I'm writing these here. Thank you for this.

It's not my first time, I've heard this song over a million times in the last three years, and every time I cried. Just like now. Love

Amazing band, extremely touching voice ... The lyrics? I don´t understand a single word. Unfortunatly :-( (but I found the translation on the net :-) ). I always felt this strong affinity to arabic music being Upper Bavarian (that´s so logical, huh? ;-). Whenever I have been listening to arabic music it instantly felt like home. Don´t have an explanation for that. Again, I am Upper Bavarian :-). This only proves the universal language of music. We are all connected. And our similarities are so much bigger than our differences. Maybe we should rather concentrate on what we have in common than point out what divides us. I shout this out to all the haters in the world, to the "proud nationalists" wherever they are. And being German I dare say that I feel it is an enrichment to our culture to have people with arabic cultural backgrounds in our society. I speak several languages. Arabic ist among the next ones to learn since it is extremely beautiful when its sung ;-). I know it´s going to be tough though due to the alphabet ... which looks so stunningly artful :-).

Music definitely universal, glad you like arab musics. I listen to all kinda music even in foreign languages! I do agree arabic is beautiful , as indonesian myself we (mostly) ,kinda read arabic but only if theres extra vowel letter in it. Good luck with your learning
