Harpo at his comic best!

    What Harpo and Chico can do together will never be duplicated. This comedic performance is the result of twenty plus years on the burlesque ,vaudeville circuit, then Broadway before finally motion pictures. They respond together comedically what todays so called comedians could or will ever touch.

    Could not agree more, they were truly unique and it is their personalities and relationships that created the magic they gave us.

    My second favorite Marx Brothers movie. I have the original Casablanca with Humphrey Bogart, but this is a delightful spin of that very movie =)

    2 brothers together, Chico and Harpo, When they’re in trouble, They’ve guess them… Uh, I don’t know how to end the poem about the brothers born in 1887 and 1888.

  • @JoshMaxPower
    @JoshMaxPower Жыл бұрын

    To think these guys slept in the same bed going back as far as 1888, when Harpo was born, right after Chico in 1887. You can't know a guy any better than if he's your bro! And how long they've been doing this "Harpo and Chico" thing...by the time of this movie it had been at least 30 years, thousands of live shows from the very worst vaudeville dumps to the top of Broadway, and then 11 films. Harpo is 58 in this sequence, Chico 59.

    Somebody once said to Groucho, "I don't believe you guys are brothers. One of you talks Italian, one of you doesn't talk at all, and one of you talks too damn much!" But they understood their strengths and they leaned into them. And the world is a better place for it.

    The Marx Bros. are so far ahead of the Three Stooges, it's not funny. You have to have some smarts to get these guys, otherwise it goes right over your head. If you do get this type of comedy, it will always be your favorite.
