You get the feeling this Marvin can sing anything and make it sound so soulful. One doesn’t listen to Marvin, one feels him.

Marvin's soul was as beautiful as his voice. He knew of love, he knew of pain, he taught us of life and filled the deepest parts of our soul. God bless Marvin, you were and still are an angel.

The only song I know which is completely formless, no verse and chorus, only internal rhymes and repetitions. All this creates the space and freedom for his voice and the instrumentation to express the emotion, quite apart from the very personal, heartfelt and touching lyrics. Pure genius.

"Just to Keep You Satisfied" is an all time favorite. IT does exactly you guys did. stopped you your tracks. The melody forces one to listen. The free flowing instrumentals with the strings, the two chimes, the whole damn orchestra all comes together whit his vocals.

These brothers started out with pure love in their hearts. Then they understood They took up social commentry ....it took them apart to see what was taking place . Teddy P , Marvin gay, David Ruffiin to name a few giants . The magic these souls leave behind for us to rage and then to heal . These guys were way beyond their time .. We understand and felt your pain even to this day . Sleep in peace brothers

"let's get it on" is the follow up to "what's going on" (there was a film soundtrack album "trouble man" in between) - the whole album is great - if you haven't heard "come get to this", "distant lover" and "if i should die tonight" - y'all are in for a real treat - i totally share the esteem for the much-missed sir marvin!!

In 1981 he lived for about two years here in Ostend - Belgium to reset from hectic life in the US. He loved it here at the North Sea, made a few friends who took care of him and he even recorded an album. I think it was his best selling album. He befriended a well known punk singer and went to a concert of his. Even though I'm a prog guy, "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" is one of those mainstream songs I always return to. The arrangements are smart and magical, and those two voices!!! Sadly both of them were taken too early.

Anna Gordy Gaye - 15 or 16 years older than him. His first wife Janis Hunter Gaye - 15 or 16 years younger than him. His second wife. From what I can tell there was a lot of love in both relationships when they started, both took a turn for the worse and never really got better.

I started out thinking, partway through, I bet she thought, "Try a little bit more... abject? maybe, pal", but it didn't last, so then, " Oh, please!! Please, m....f....!! STFU! G.T.F.OOH!!" Then, "I shouldn't try to put myself in her head At All." Him, I recognize. Sorry, Marvin, miss you, man.

Here’s the real story….Marvin was going through a bitter divorce with Berry Gordy’s sister Anna. He claimed he was broke to the court, so the judge came up with a unique solution. He said Marvin was to record an album and Anna would receive all the profits from said album as a divorce decree. So a bitter Marvin Gaye recorded an album of songs about what a bitch she was and how wonderful his new lover (a 16 years old girl) was! And titled it “Here my dear, this is it!!!❤ React to that album if you want to hear true genius!!! I’ve never heard such songs of negativity sung so beautifully!!!😮😮😮😮😮😮
