You find Cap difficult to use because of the way you build him. No offense. Try dropping Tactician and quick punch (or Brooklyn handshake, but I prefer to keep it) , get a 2nd copy of best defense and a second copy of Dig in or shield bounce. If you have a DPS character on your squad, you can take both and Dig in and Shield bounce and drop Shield Charge. let me know what you think if you have time.

I'm going to start a new run soon, so I'll take this loadout once I get the cards. I've always found it difficult to drop quick cards!

i agree. i built mine to be mostly defensive and only have some offense built in like using only shield charge as the heroic card.

The thing is, I dont think most people will be playing on the hardest difficulty. While I understand their reasoning is gamma + magic, its still ridiculous that any character can be taken down so easily. Which is why I think Cap should be at least A tier. For most, he would probably sit at S tier as long as they dont go to the highest ability where some random hydra grunt is now the new hulk.

Oh for sure. On lower tiers cap is a beast, but on ult 3 it's more about not getting hit at all, else your getting killed. It's one of my small complaints of the game, the higher difficulties just make them sponge killing machines. I just never got on with cap, his cards look great, but I never really got him going and he just died too quick

But any character capable of surviving or thriving on the highest difficulty will annihilate lower difficulties as well, so any tier list that examines mechanical power scaling and flexibility would be necessity have to be judged based on performance on the highest difficulties.

Venom and Morbius should have their very own spinoff television series starring Hank Azaria and Nick Jameson.

600+ hours on the game here. I'll do two different tier lists because there are two different games here: advance in the story while improving your heroes and reach the maximum difficulty on one side and on the other endgame level 40 missions. Storm is not listed because i really dont tested her. Playing main campaign and eventually reaching ultimate 3 difficulty, decks without or a few modded cards: S- Hunter, Strange, Ironman, Cap America, Ghost rider A- Venom, Spiderman, Wolverine, Hulk, Magik, Morbius B- Blade, Nico C- Cap Marvel, Deadpool, Scarlet Witch Endgame, full modded and optimized decks (level 40 missions on ultimate 3): S- Hunter, Strange, Ironman A- Scarlet witch, Ghost rider, Cap Marvel, Magik, Hulk B- Nico, Venom, Deadpool, Morbius, Wolverine, Cap America C- Blade, Spiderman S tier: Best characters, trivialize any mission. A tier: Almost S tier but they need some support from others characters or best supporting/utility characters. B tier: Good characters but they need specific compositions C tier: Characters who need too many turns or card plays to do their job, they're not bad but others can do the same faster or cheaper. D tier: Thrash

I never vibed with ca, but his kit does work wonders. I think I went for the "kill them before they hit me" playthrough, rather then the defensive cap playstyle

Awesome video! I put 30 hours into the game at launch on Steam Deck before my save got deleted. Finally got back into it and now im doing all of the DLC before the final mission. First of all, what an awesome game! My favorite character to use is definitely Nico. So much damage and she just has a cool design (also a nice touch that they got her actress from the live action show to reprise her role). Beyond her, Wolverine and Magik are my other tops. Agree with you about Scarlet Witch as i was hyped to unlock her but was very disappointed with her kit. Same with Captain Marvel as well. Still need to unlock Morbius and Storm, but I'm glad I came back to the game. Thanks again for the vid!

Interesting thoughts. From my playtime and what I’ve seen from other videos I’ve changed my opinion on a lot of characters… based on my experience and research, no character is below B tier. Scarlet Witch can have hex mark and unleashed free which means she could effectively have half to all enemies marked on a single turn without playing any cards. The radius is insanely big with max power percentage and unleashed active. Captain Marvel is the highest dps dealer in the game with binary+ strengthened+ overpowered. So if you could effectively use say a Scarlet Witch or taunt all enemies and conceal her with Doctor Strange then she’s insane. Hulk does crazy damage with max rage so all you would need to do is make sure that he can survive which is easy if you run your supports to either help clear the screen, conceal or apply weak to enough enemies. Captain America is insane lol… probably the easiest tank to play in the game. Very straightforward. Free on some of his cards make him a god. This is coming from a Cap America hater lol. I agree with your S tier as well. Devs did a great job with DLC although I wasn’t initially a fan of Deadpool’s design at first. Also, thanks for the video. It’s nice to see people still putting out Midnight Suns content. I hope Firaxis makes DLC season 2 or Midnight Suns 2 at some point. This was my favorite game of 2022 and I still play from time to time. And subscribed! :)

To me, that's what's great about this game. Depending on party setups, different heroes will shine. I just didn't gel with the c tiers much, but on another run, they might be the standouts!

If you build your team around Deadpool with characters with taunting and buffing with shields or resistance buff + add some marks on enemys, honestly I think he's really good. It's not that difficult to build En Fuengo imo. + if you a take a hit or two it's not that bad considering his passive ability to regain massive healt each turn. Hunter + Wolverine + Deadpool is one of my favorite teams.

True, but I ended up with the mindset, that a dead enemy cant hit me, so instead of building up situations for a tank, I went for pure damage output and control. Granted it didnt work all the time, but most of the time. With that, I just never got on with deadpool. But a different playthrough and playstyle, I can see the point

i agree thats the best way to utiilize deadpool but i wish there was something better. in my playthroughs, none of the other 16 characters requires both other characters to specifically run support in order to build up the third.

@@keyblader2k6 sometimes just one might be enough. You can also bring some items that aren't even hard to craft. The results are really worth it imo

@@Kevincroco personally, there was only 1 time where i just needed one other character to build him up to en fuego 5 and that was during training in limbo where you got a card refunded per card ko. the few other times in actual missions, i definitely needed 2 others to maximize him. yes i know there are item cards but i use those in emergencies, not as part of a specific characters strategy. i will continue playing with all 17 characters but i definitely will not be ranking deadpool anywhere near the top or even middle tier.

Lol every ranking video to this game is 100% different. Some put the same char in B or even D tier, while on other lists it's an A or even S. With that said the developers did a great job with balancing all heroes. On the other hand those lists are quite usless tbh, because it's just preference and has nothing to do with "facts".

I think the wild differences in opinions and these lists are great. I love its not about facts, but it about playstyles. Shows how good the game is. I love other peoples views on characters (how others use Cap for instance) as I never got that playstyle myself, but it opens for a different playstyle and you know it can work just as effective !

i agree. so much variance in so many tier lists 100% means firaxis did a great job in balancing.

@31:35 you are using the wrong cards for wanda.... thats why you think she sucks, hex charge and hex bolt suck.... First of all, every SKILLcard has the ability to roll FREE on mods... wanda is an AOE character with 3 skillcards. Unleashed lets you increase the size for FREE by 40%, bring 2 of those cards and if you draw it twice within 1-2 turns (likely, not unlikely), you get 196% AOE Now... Hex mark FREE (marks all enemies in an area for 3 turns FOR FREE (200% AOE remember?) Hex field after the 2 unleashed cards almost has global range for 100% offense, add +2 heroism or draw 2 cards Chaos reigns after the 2 unleashed cards can have you seeing 6 or more enemies attacking eachother, higher difficulty means more damage in relation to what your own offense can give. Hex mark FREE anyone? thought so.... turns high damage cards into quick cards... turns draw multiple cards and +3 heroism cards into quick cards, turns AOE and all enemy damaging cards into quick cards.

yeah, on a few more subsequent playthroughs, I have used her more differently, and have enjoyed her more. Her Ult still blows, on harder difficulties where you cant revive. The beauty of the game is that it is so flexible, and the cards can be upgraded so many ways for a specific playthrough
