Been almost a year, where's the update? :P Like the incomplete list, only thing I have to say is Magik should be higher. She's solid through out. Also, you can add a little dmg with her basic ability with ability mods.

I disagree about Nico. Not because her roulette shit makes her impossible to be consistent. But because you ignored the one card that makes her literally invaluable in, what I imagine, every run on every difficulty. Restore+ with Free mod. Literally a Free play card with 0 cost that heals _all damage_ and _does not get discarded_ if the target is below half health. Oh no, please, my friends are so nearly dead. Oh wait nevermind free full heals for everyone. Seriously Nico might as well be called the Canadian Witch because girl has that free healthcare for all.

I love all the problematic characters because they are still challenging to use and fun in the endgame.

I have a lot of success with Captain Marvel. She taunts everything and never loses all her block

I have zero issues with Carol. You can build her binary with Quick attacks and use Iron Man buffs to build her Shield and maintain binary mode. I can't speak on the highest difficulties but I have build decks around her and had a lot of success.

Ghost rider is a beast! I kept having to cycle him out just for some variety, because I felt he solo carries most of the time, even on top difficulty… tanking lifesteal, boosting dmg when hurt, and drops giving free high tier enemy kills with just a shove. Vengeance is mine 😈 (I agree the car card sucks - I dropped that hard)

Nico is critical to how I play, but I take out most of her roulette stuff and she becomes insanely strong. 2 withchfire cards with 3 max recasts, 2 empower cards, 1 witchstorm, 2 curse and crack the sky. She definitely has a randomness level to her but man can she absolutely shred

And dont forget you can pull the mod "free" up for Restore. So you basically can full recover your party every turn... FOR FREE!

I get the love for Strange, but Nico is my favorite support character in the game. Restore is fantastic at keeping characters in play, and witchfire is powerful even if it only hits one target. One of my favorite characters to use.

Witchfire can be upgraded to hit three additional enemies and can be used late in combat as a finisher when all the remaining enemies have health less than the witchfire damage. This results in a KO with every hit and it KOs four enemies. It takes some careful tactics and patience but it can be done and it usually finishes the fight for you.

I just got the free epic version and played through it. Nico is the best character paired with Hunter. Her level up and empower skills make boss fight trivial with hinters patience and hero combos. 1 shoting every boss is easy. And all the random cards you mentioned can be swapped out for the witch~ cards which are high damage cards with little to no rng if you setup the board correctly.

Great video! I love how split people seem to be on the viability on some of these characters because it forces me to just figure it out myself. Regardless, thoughts such as yours are useful to conceptualize some of the characters in the game to get a better idea on what is optimal.

I just started playing this game 10 days ago, got it with my Christmas gift RTX 3070 GPU, and I'm now at the final mission and I love videos like this one.

You should use Limbo's Grasp with Magik. Adding damage to enemies that go through portals, that stacks, makes her easily the best single target damage dealer in the game. And when it's upgraded, you get a portal for free. Then her quick knock back card does over 100 damage.

Limbo's Grasp does take a little bit of setup to get really good (you'd want to use it at twice to get great damage, basically), but once you've done that it's AMAZING. And provided Magik has a portal setup, it even works when she does a shove. The benefit can't be understated and she becomes one of the best damage dealers at that point. Iron Man's Hellfire Beam scales infinitely and therefore allows him to do more damage to a single target (but it's a line attack so can do the same to multiple targets) and the Hunter's Patience works better most of the time because it doesn't need so much setup, but Magik's right up there IMO.

@Rod H those are good points, for sure. I also think that Cap's midnight sun ability (can't remember the name for some reason), paired with Best Defense is an amazing line damage combo, which gets your block all the way back to full, as long as you use it before the 2 turns are over. Also, with Magik, if Limbo's Grasp is upgraded, it gives a free portal when you play it, so the build that I use has 2 upgraded copies of it, and no portal cards, so that I can have more knockback cards. It's a trade-off, slowly setting things up in order to deal lots of damage by the third or fourth turn (if the card draws are good, that is, lol)

@@haloninjamonkey1 Shield Charge is very good, especially if you pair it with Best Defence like you suggest. It's no Hellfire Beam, but it's certainly one of the better Legendary cards when it's used properly.

@@LynxStarAuto So far, there have been a few patches to the game and the nerf to Iron Man hasn't happened. I do agree that he needs a few nerfs though. The card that gets the most attention is Air Superiority. And yes, with 2 redraws that's just as powerful as Captain Marvel's Legendary (Supernova) while she's in Binary mode, so it's fair to say it's a very powerful card. But by using mods, it's not too hard to set up Iron Man's deck to have 10 or more redraws available per turn. That's where Precision + Hellfire Beam comes into play. Those 10 redraws would give Hellfire Beam +500% Offence, for a total of 600% Offence on Turn 1. To put this in perspective, the Hunter's upgraded Patience card is set to 500% Offence, and that's single target compared to Iron Man's Line. Precision would allow Iron Man to hang on to the card to power it up even more next turn. It's not impossible for Iron Man to reach 1,500% Offence with that card by Turn 3 (mainly for the LOLs, because there's not much that needs that level of damage in the game). Personally, I hope each redraw gives +25% Offence instead of +50%, and Hellfire Beam gets limited to 4 redraws. Better still, make each redraw give a +10% increase with Air Superiority allowing 5 redraws and Hellfire Beam being limited to 10. They'd both still be awesome attacks that make good use of the crazy number of redraws Iron Man can produce, but at 150% Offence and 200% Offence respectively, I don't think they'd be too OP.

Agree with Wolverine, he needs something. For one I think the Lifesteal on Berzerk should last until his next turn so taunting and countering with Stink of Fear will give some sustain. I found that a support that works well with him is Doctor Strange. Because he has so many chain attacks, Blessing of Vishanti multiplies the damage bonuses on Wolvie's cards.

Best support with Wolverine is Nico. Her Blood Magic is pretty near perfect for him, and Recovery+ helps enormously to keep him on his feet, because Wolverine's passive is horribly flawed (it should just be regain 25%/50% max health at the start of each turn, IMO). Nico also works incredibly well with Ghost Rider and Hulk for the same reasons. Double Up compliments ANY hero who has cards that exhaust (particularly the very good cards like the Legendries). And high Heroic cost cards benefit enormously from her Empower card (which is why she can pair up with Dr Strange, strangely enough). What really works with Nico is chain/area attacks that whittle down the enemy HP so she can finish them off with Witchfire. There's a few heroes like that, but Wolverine, Hulk and Ghost Rider all qualify. Unfortunately, she's always going to be classified as support because while she can deal good damage, she can't deal GREAT damage like several of the other heroes. But she is pretty good support for the right kind of heroes.

My Wolverine lucked out with some of the mods, which has turned him into a really viable tank. I had one of his quicks with a conceal, one Free Regeneration, one Regeneration with Conceal on redraw, and his Taunt weak ability with a counter. Combo any of those with his chain/taunts to grab attention of enemies and it's a good way to keep everyone upright. And if all fails, I just let him take the fall and bring him back the next turn.

@@jaym.g.5789 Nice. But mods aside, I think baseline Wolverine needs a little steering either in the tank or dps department. I do enjoy using him though, his moves are very satisfying to execute. One nice synergy that works well with him is Doctor Strange's Blessing of the Vishanti. The bonus damage applies to every hit in Logan's chain attacks.

@@PizzaTime727 You are 100% correct that Wolvie is missing something. He either needs better regen, or immune to KO's where he is downed and comes back by himself after X turns. Or maybe give him more bleed effects to his attacks, or draws on KO's. Defo some tweaking is needed.

@PizzaTime Yeah he definitely felt lackluster before the mods. He's not as good a tank as Cap, doesn't have Carol's damage output. And in Ult 3 where everything hits like a truck, it's quite a tough spot since Ult 3 you better be outputting so much damage to kill mobs or be tanky enough to survive them, neither of which he does regularly without help from others.

Nico right now for me is one of my favorite she deals good damage for a mainly support type player and can single handedly heal your whole team in one turn with empower and get some of your heroics played when you really need em

Shocked no mention of Astral Meditation when talking about Strange. The card might as well have "Win the game." written on in text.

That’s because I dropped it from my current postgame Doctor Strange build. I stopped using combat items. After getting all of your cards modded and upgraded, they start to feel superfluous, even on Ultimate III. Just gives you more of a challenge.

It all depends on your play style. For me. My A-Team is Marvel, Light Hunter, and Blade. Everyone says Blade's abilities suck. That his bleed is useless, but I use it for free KO's on ultimate difficulty constantly. With a little patience he is very effective at dwindling down targets, or finishing them off. In regards to Capt Marvel, most players use her wrong. She is not a tank in a literal sense. She is a tank destroyer 😂. The trick with her is to strategically use her binary. Binary should be a strictly offensive weapon, not a defensive one. Forget about her block, what you want is to quick attack with her to refund plays, and get Binary unlocked as soon as possible. Then use her AOE cards to crowd control, and have competent damage dealers to finish off the stragglers. She is great, but requires a more methodical and systematic approach to be really effective. Now if you want to beat the whole game on two turns, then yeah Marvel and Blade will probably suck to you. And I think that's my biggest complaint with the game. They reward you for rushed play, vs being strategic and creative. Which was the wrong approach imo. Edit, I do agree Carol's passive ability sucks. It should be invulnerable, or it should be multiple counters for several turns. Also, prepare to be flabbergasted. 😂 Capt America is trash to me. Tanks in general in this game suck. You only have 3 members on the squad, facing multiple enemies at once. Your tank needs to deal fair damage to carry their weight and that's where Cap falls off. Also, on the highest difficulty levels, Cap can get KO by enemies in one turn. All depends on your luck of the draw. If Dig In doesn't generate, Cap is taking a nap. I much prefer offensive heros that will put the threat down permanently, vs tanking hits.

I don't see Captain America as a tank, in my roster he is more a draw engine with ok damages (strengthened on quick punch helps). Captain Marvel isn't really a tank neither, more a bruiser. To be honest, tanking in this game seems to be a dead end, just kill or be killed. I like Blade, he's not my most efficient dps but he is pretty good, at least he is not as bad as the majority of people think he is. Bleed itself is useless yeah, but it's more a tool for his kit than a real source of damages and right now I'm wondering how Morbius will be with bleed.

I've never seen a game like this where it is so well-designed and balanced that these lists are wildly varied. I've seen some work Carroll is in s the best list and the best video analyst I've seen. Thanks for the insight.

Nico can be a decent AoE damage dealer with skills like Witchfire and the other that is a targeted AoE. Crack the Sky i believe can also hit hard. Restore is a good healing skill that can be kept if used at the right time

I play her all the time, empower and double down are massive heroism producers, same with Iron Man's "I'll handle this card" you combine that with heroism combat cards and you never lose.

It's crazy how much damage Cap can take without taking any damage because of his shields.

My favorite to use is Captain America, Spiderman and Hunter. Sometimes I use Blade in place of spiderman. It wasnt a hard choice because Captain America has always been my favorite Marval character and I have some Captain America comics from the 1970. This was a really good video, thanks.

I like your list and appreciate you putting in the time to put it together. So, rather than say who I think is better, etc, I'll add a couple of other points worth considering about specific characters: 1) Wolverine can revive even on Ultimate III. This is a big deal despite the fact that it will cost you a star because there are no other revives on Ult III. If things are going well enough, I've left him dead for up to two turns only to revive him when things get desperate. To me, this made him more important on Ult III. I just need to be careful about how many end up targeting him at the end of the turn so he doesn't die too quickly. On Ult I/II, he was less important because everyone revived at least once. 2) Scarlet Witch's legendary card removes her from the encounter on Ult III so you either redraw/use it and lose her/hold just in case. Pretty situational and partly why I just don't like using her. If only her legendary were like it was in the Hulk fight but using her legendary and the only guaranteed KO is...her? Maybe I'm just being irrational but yeah I hate it. 3) Hunter's Last Sight has been clutch for me more than any other card. When everyone else was dead, I've gutted out 3-4 solo rounds to finish with a win simply because Hunter could finish a round with conceal and not die. Obviously, this relies heavily on card volume so...get over heal very chance I can to gain those previous two extra cards. But still, Last Sight - wow. It really helps that it does a good bit of damage too. 4) Can't agree more with another comment about Magik's Limbo's Grasp. Granted, it takes a couple of uses to bring serious damage but having an open portal and then kick+...yeah, that is awesome to watch. I also love her AOE, sucking a group of baddies in to somewhere closer to an environmental boom, damage them, and then...environmental boom...because her AOE doesn't damage environmentals. It's so much fun. Remember when Wong gets Abom to knock himself out in the She-Hulk show? Magik is fun like that. 5) Have to agree with an other comment also on Ghostrider being the highest single-target damage dealer. True, it takes some setup and doesn't always work out but I've never seen anyone else put out as much damage as Penance Stare when his health is maxed out. For pure numbers, I don't think any other card can put out as much. I really don't consider "destroying all of the enemy on the first turn" as an effective strategy because it relies too much on RNG. Have I done it? Yes. Was it super awesome? Oh, yeah. Is it pretty rare? Yep. Why? Because you don't determine which cards you get and sometimes you get crap and end up redrawing as much as you can to try and find something useful to start out with. In those kinds of battles, especially on Ult III, having somethign to pull you out of the fire can be clutch (combat items if still using them, Wolverine revive, etc). I prioritize redraws and drawing cards as much as possible in my builds to mitigate the impact of crappy hands. It might reduce the likelihood of having those first-turn annihilations but it reduces the need to restart encounters because everyone died.

Highest single target damage goes to Iron Man with Hellfire Beam+. Yeah, that actually hits multiple targets but because there's no limit on the number of redraws you can spend on it, the damage potential is also unlimited. And with Precision, you can do it twice in a single turn, with the 2nd use benefiting from even more redraws gained from the first attack (each KO grants +1 redraw). Nothing else even comes close to the damage potential of this card. Magik with Limbo's Grasp is the only other character I know of who has unlimited potential damage, but that takes a while to set up. With the right setup, Iron Man can get his Hellfire Beam+ powered up on Turn 1.

If the deck you use for Wolverine is the one seen at 1:27, it's clearly "not working". Wolverine is at his best by repeating a three-step cycle: 1) Do damage and taunt many enemies. 2) Take damage from the enemies taunted. 3) Heal by using Berserk. If you don't have Berserk in hand, you don't even start the cycle. You simply use his abilities to finish off enemies (not to taunt them). So it's better to have two Berserks in the deck. Just as to have many chain + tant cards. Particularly Eviscerate. Avoid single shots such as Power Slash (there are other superheroes who are more specialized in moving enemies), or Piercing Slash (buy the bullet-item if necessary) . Rapid Healing should also be avoided. Especially after unlocking the ability to heal using a movement point. Berserk allows you to attack and heal at the same time. Personally I don't even use the Midnight Special. Too random. Better Eviscerate: it's cheap, does targeted damage, taunts and gives counterattack, which is essential when taunt enemies. I only use Stink of Fear if I find the improvement that makes it free to play. With a balanced deck, Wolverine is one of the best tanks on the team... Maybe the best

Ultimate III for the pure challenge, Ultimate I/Heroic III if I want to "chill" but still need to try.

For me, I feel like Heroic III is probably the most balanced difficulty level. I deliberately ran a first dry-run of missions to unlock it, and then completed my first full playthrough at that level. It was seriously fun, still enough of a challenge that nothing felt easy, but still not so difficult that I felt like RNG could screw me. I then started my NG+ dark run at Ultimate III (having used a few after-story missions to unlock it obviously), and genuinely felt like a few of the early missions were literally impossible to win, due to NG+ having super-villains all unlocked from the get-go. However, now that I am solidly 3/4 of the way through, with decks built up heavily, and all characters levelled, it is very rare to even experience a KO on my characters, but it does require some serious planning and careful consideration, so super-fun now. I would definitely be curious to go back to a Heroic III run as my 3rd go, as a power only run, just to see if I have spoiled myself or not, now that I am used to Ultimate III, but I might be saving that until a few of the DLCs are out just to add some new interest for me at that point.

Decent analysis thanks. Broadly in agreement, though I'd bump Wanda up one (Hex Marked, Chaos Field and Quick Toss are all insane), Strange down one (great early and mid game but gets outpaced, and rubbish Legendary). And for sure I'd disagree about Magik. I found her very much S-tier once I was running a couple of modded Limbo's Grasps. She was consistently one-shotting elites and single-turn killing Fallen, even on Ultimate III, any time I rolled just a single Limbo's Grasp in my opening hand. Her near infinite portal loops were kinda game breaking.

Good video but (like every other video) I guess it really does come down to personal preference, I LOVE Ghost Rider, the high risk high reward is insane, as long as you plan around it (use free card buffs Overpower -> heavy attack -> vial of shadows for example) *edit* I just noticed you put Blade as a near top tier, perfect example about personal preference, I want to like using blade but personally feel like he requires so much setup to get the most out of him so I rarely, if ever use him. If anything I'd think Blade and Ghost Rider are same tier if only because they both can do insane damage just one is a high risk and the other is more setup. Either way good video, always good to get an additional opinion

I firmly believe every single character is perfectly viable. I think everyone’s playthroughs, mods, etc will shape who they think is better or not.

Nice video. It’s all nice to watch tier list as it allows me to compare my perspectives to others. It’s all subjective obviously. I have been playing with Captain America and Doctor Strange more. I still don’t have them as high as you do next to Hunter but I can say they are better than I initially thought 150+ hours into my playtime. However, lol, I cannot allow the placements of your problematic tier to stand. Captain Marvel has been a superstar for me on Ultimate + difficulties. I agree it’s hard to keep binary but I’ve found ways for her to keep binary up long enough to do the necessary work to complete those missions. Captain Marvel, to me, is the best tank in the game despite my love for wolverine. The main reason for my Captain Marvel placement is because Captain Marvel pretty much has everything I would want from a character on my team which is self sustain, ability to do damage, and provide immense value if she isn’t directly playing and attack card on my turn. Her passive I would argue is only bad if you’re not playing around it. When I have Carol on the field, I try my best to allow her to get the final hit and I only play “go binary” to setup for the next turn. So that might be a turn 2-4 binary but when it happens I make sure that it ends or massively shifts the game enough to make a difference. Ghost Rider is a Ghost Rider’s Penance Stare has the best single target damage in the game enough to drop those 1k+ HP enemies in a single turn. You’d have to play around it for sure but I’m sure you would agree that Ultimate+ difficulties require much more planning generally speaking for every character. Ghost Rider isn’t that problematic once you invest into him more. Wolverine, my friend, isn’t that bad. I think the devs could give him a max hp buff but when I play him on ultimate+ I make sure to bring cards that give him block and play Ironoak charm to give him some startup block after taunts are up. With Wolverine, you just have to taunt enough to survive a turn then play rapid regen or redraw some cards to heal or do his berserk combos. Which I agree is less work than a dig in + best defense combo but at least I get some dps out earlier to finish targets with someone else. Also, on my Wolverine I have nearly 20% fortitude which allows wolverine to have block at the start. Actually as I’m writing this comment I think you’re absolutely correct in that Strange and Cap America are the safest picks because they’re the easiest characters to use. But in that same argument it’s the simple play style that makes it harder for you to play other characters if you didn’t invest in them. I’ve seen so much upside from most of the characters you ranked low once I invested weeks into cards, friendship level bonuses and experience level bonuses but I am curious to see what the devs do in the first big balance update before DLC 1. Lastly, I’ve been looking into the Hulk more and I agree that it’s a bit difficult to manage the rage mechanic and not get deleted on ultimate+ difficulties so maybe I’ll have something to say later on but I think with as much CC and aoe attacks that Hulk might need to be higher too. It’s too early for me to justify as of now. Solid video overall and looking forward to your NG+ content and dlc content!

I fundamentally believe every character is perfectly viable in this game and there is no objectively bad hero. The rankings are more of a reflection of who is quite simply the best to use in most situations, based on my personal success or failure with every character. I’ve had plenty of successful missions with the characters in the problematic tier. It’s one of those things where someone has to be at the bottom for a tier list to be an actual list, so this is a reflection of that, where in descending order I have more nits to pick with each subsequent group. I’m glad to hear you’re killing it with Carol, these different perspectives are always welcomed!

Nico is very underrated, and probably the best healer in the game. I use her strictly as a healer, and she has a card that lets you double all the cards in your hand. It's like a cheat code. Her legendary card is also absolutely filthy.

I just started the game and was looking for tips on who to prioritize for leveling up quickly. This video is pretty much exactly what I was looking for, thank you very much.

What you will learn is that no video is right. Personal play style and mods make all the heros subjective. For example to me, Captain Marvel is the best hero in the game, followed by Blade. But that's because I have a more methodical play style, and have her cards modded with a bunch of draw on KO's, quick, knockback, and forceful knockback added. Blade, I got really lucky and added free to his make 'em bleed card, so I can essentially enter bleed for no card cost.

I just got this game 2 days ago, but I'm already addicted at 16 hours in. I'm haven't even unlocked all the characters yet but so far Captain marvel, strange, and iron man are carrying. I'm also trying to keep Magik and Nico's decks upgraded since I field them occasionally. This tierlist was pretty helpful. Looking forward to seeing more videos for this game !!

@@Starwars-Fanboy The story forces you to use everyone, so you’d be wise to give everyone a little love, mainly take them out on missions to get Gamma Coils and get better cards for them. Bear in mind, everyone will largely stay near the Hunter’s level regardless of whether or not you use them. In terms of friendship, focus on who you like most in combat because Friendship levels 2 and 4 unlock their passive, 5 unlocks their Legendary challenge. Also, keep tabs on who you befriend the most. It matters at the end….

It's a great game! Early vs late game cards are very different and can completely change a character's playstyle and ranking. For example, Captain America's early cards are pretty bad on Ultimate 3. He deals very little damage and you can spend a whole turn generating blocks, dealing very little damage, only for the enemies to blast right past the block and possibly KO him. Once you get Ultimate Defense and Dig In though, he completely changes, and becomes a great tank and damage dealer. Abilities that convert block to damage will actually increase your block with Ultimate Defense while dishing out tons of damage in return.

Great video! Interesting to hear your views/points vs. others both normie players like us and content creators. Basically - imo there's no fundamentally bad char. esp if you invest in them and provide the right team comp. Some chars shine earlier and are flawed later; or require hefty mod values or whatever sure; but that's a reason I love this game you can make almost any hero work. I personally think Cap Marvel is higher, good but flawed - but agree with what's said; likewise with Nico but aside from being biased with her usage, her Double Up can be insane and game changing likewise Empower and her routlette gimmick imo isn't like horrific it does make her flawed so sure, it's a interesting take on a tier list. But certainly I do love more love for Magick and Blade, seriously, Blade is so underrated; he's straightforward and requires some setup for his consume blood and yes bleed itself is problematic with when it ticks but still is good. And Magick is I admit difficult to play early esp when understanding the mechanics and lacking key cards because if you don't understand positioning and status and environments she can seem bad. Anyways, lol good video, whether ppl agree with every choice or not where they land it's helpful on all your takes and not really wrong.

The beauty of this game is that I can say for sure that this list is completely wrong, but it can still work for this guy. Build the right deck with Robbie and you'll be exploding knocked out enemies to deal a good amount of damage to others near them, or chaining up to 3 enemies in a life draining move. Plus, his Midnight Sun card deals an insane amout of damage.

I generally agree with the rankings, though I think that some characters are better early vs late game, and on certain missions. For example, on long story missions, Ghost Rider is a beast because there doesn't seem to be a limit to which Hell's Fury can stack, so you can end the mission with 1000+ damage in a single attack. I would move Captain Marvel up a level, Nico down a level, Spider Man down a level, and Iron Man up a level. Captain America is arguably down a level -- he's really good but I find that he's dependent on a good draw (both Best Defense and Dig In), though I think with card modding, he can get more sources of Counter, which means he just needs Best Defense. Captain Marvel isn't the best, but she has quick cards to let her get up to Binary, and cards like Bring It On which grant both counter and resist. In most missions, she dishes out good damage while keeping her Binary up. Nico's randomness just doesn't work well, and you're not only hoping for a good buff/debuff, but many of the effects are possible to be modded on other cards. The only really good use of her is to keep healing. Spider Man is good early in an encounter if you can get Opportunist going, but abilities like Chain Strike are situational while he lacks the high damage attacks to make Webslinger really good. After a certain point in the mission, I often find myself not minding Spider Man getting KOed so that I can draw cards more focused on the other heroes. Iron Man is just really amazing all around -- he can attack, he can protect, and he can also nuke the entire encounter with Air Superiority. Plus, abilities like an AOE mark is massive for generating extra actions in a round, and he also can take advantage of those actions by having lots of abilities to draw/redraw cards. I also like how Iron Man gets stronger if your other heroes go down, so he's very much a snatch victory from defeat hero.

I will say since making this video, I absolutely would considerIron Man to be in that top tier. Acquiring his passive and with the abundance of redraws you can get from mode, he becomes unassailably great. The Hunter, Cap, Iron Man team is virtually unbeatable. Excellent comment.

The character I struggle with the most is Scarlet Witch. She is an AOE character, so you need to have the right cards to do much with her. My favs are characters where you can chain attacks together and generate heroism quickly. Best combat cards are Agility, nanoweave, serum overdrive, and invigoration.

Bit late on the trend here, but try running SW with Cap and Strange. Give her 2 copies of the hex chain attack and have strange just keep throwing the damage buff on them. Eventually you'll be chaining the entire map. Mod it for quick and it's game over. Cap is just there for when things get out of hand or to cycle cards with quick punches.

alternatively you can mod all her cards to be FREE except for two quicks which you mod for pulling a hero card (plus usually another one since it's knockback in any direction so you can knock back into your other heroes), then she becomes absolute beast right up there after Ironman, Channel5 Gaming has a build on her so I don't end up writing a book here, but when modded out the wazoo she really rocks, unmodded she's trash.

Nico is A-Tier. Just use her the right way and she is much more powerful then most of the characters. Her randomness doesnt care anymore because the skills are too much powerful, so it doesnt matter anymore what effect you get. The additional effect is just a bonus.

Early on, Hunter's damage abilities are rather bad, because they have serious drawbacks. Discarding random card, discarding the whole hand, getting vulnerable... And the card that does bonus damage to stunned targets, I wanted to use it so badly, but I literally never could, because I didn't know there is no reliable way to cause stun. 10%-25% to cause stun. I never successfully stunned an enemy when I needed it. Hunter is bad to focus on dark skills early on, which is what I was doing.

My favourite combinations are Hunter and Storm with any other person…perhaps Nico because of her ability to turn all heroism card costs to 0. Storm is quite powerful and has lots of area damage that increases for every time you don’t use them per turn. To me, Ghost Rider is very effective especially with is hell ride, where he can clear up a whole lot of enemies.

It's the first game I have seen in a decade that Wolverine is low tier while doc strange is on high tier. Otherwise it has always been the other way round in most of the games. Glad that doc is finally getting his worth of attention.👍🏽

I love using carol and cap together because you can use caps shield buff to give her more shield and put doctor strange with her and you can buff her attacks

I honestly tought spiderman sucked ass when first started to use him, too little damage and all he could do was clean minions, but then I discovered he is a good pair to take with the Hulk, I use spiderman to clean minions because i dont want to waste my 600 dmg card on low hp enemies, and I use all the enviromentals before i get world breaker on my hand, like them both a lot now

i think the passives are gained by doing hangouts, training and increasing your friendship with respective characters

2 of the card where you control someone's mind and make them attack a nearby enemy twice paired with the no exhaust collar. Dark side is the way to go. Also my heal adds a resist.

Agree for the most part, but I'd probably put in another tier of just "Mid." Move up Hulk and Wanda there and drop down Spiderman. Then probably move Marvel up to good but flawed. Just her ult ability being one of only three that doesn't exhaust (and its very low heroism cost) is enough to pull her out of bottom tier for me. Good list, excited to see where the DLC characters slot in.

Hands down iron man and magik are the best characters. With the right cards and a few targeted mods they can end every mission on turn 1 on ultimate 3 (barring story missions that have forced multiple turns). Tanking is irrelevant when you wipe the entire enemy team every single turn. Magiks strength is not knockback, but the fact that limbos grasp (once modded with free) bumps her portals up to do insane damage at no cost, killing off powerful enemies with a just a push.

Got my iron man fully modded and I'm wrecking U3 turn 1 everygame. Hellfire does 2k and i cast it twice is just stupid damage

My guy Wanda’s unleashed and detonate combo is one of them deadliest ones in the game it can single handedly clear the entire battlefield better than her ultimate ability cause like you said it’s very situational as she is, but I’ve found using that deadly combo and exploiting makes for easy and fast wins.

The point is to build cons around other characters pros. I don't think this game has a problematic tier it's just more mechanically who works with who because in my play time I'd say wolverine is closer to the top especially of you get good mods for his skills

I haven't unlocked anyone or played the dlc yet. That being said, my favs are.... Spider Iron man Ghost rider Cap marvel

My list: S tier, Iron Man, Hunter, Captain America, A tier, Spider Man, Hulk, Strange, B tier, Magick, Blade, Ghost Rider, F tier, Captain Marvel, Nico Minoru, Scarlet Witch.

Captain marvel is in my top 4 tbh. I use her to a block and be help with ko on bigger enemies

I've seen so many wildly varying opinions on these characters.... typically giving Blade and Spider-Man a much lower rating.

Agree on Wolverine. He needs 50% more health than he has for his build to work as intended. Disagree pretty strongly about Nico. Yes, her passive is poor. But she provides solid support w/ Double Up+ Restore+ Empower. Witchfire is great both early in missions, when you have minions to bash. And late, when you have everything whittled down. Witchstorm can easily be set up to single target nuke. And Crack the Sky is a Legendary on par with Annihilation. Also disagree on Ghost Rider. Use him early in a turn when you have enough cards that the discard isn't crippling. Or last when whatever is left in hand didn't matter for this turn anyway. He has the highest single target damage in the game, with Penance Stare. The most reliable high damage AOE, w/ reasonable Heroism cost. And multiple knockback options. I think Scarlet Witch's issues could be resolved by making her AoEs about 20% larger and then change Unleashed into giving all SW cards critical for the turn.

I'm sorry but Dr strange. Hunter. And magik is OP !!!! I use summon charlie and reinforcement when you use it twice it lengthens the amount of time your reinforcement stays. Either way that's a deadly combo of magic. And captain America OP. Nico is badass with the right cards. And I disagree on ghost rider.

At the start of the final mission, all of the characters get their Midnight Suns skins, regardless of friendship level.

Doesn't talk about any of the dlc characters though

Dr Strange is the best hands down. My Strange al most soloed Legendary III missions.

I disagree on the ghost rider take, guy is a fucking beast. Its totally about managing his abilities which can destroy almost all enemies in 1 hit, like judgement or the car one. All you have to do is manage his lifesteal cycle and he will be just fine. The rest is fine, very concise list

I think carol is not that bad and I think magic is not that good. Tbh😮I love Robbie and carol in specific

The best characters are Hunter, Dr. Strange and Ghost Rider. And it's not up for debate really. Concealed is the best status in the game. Put 2 Vapors, 2 Last Strike or 2 Straight to Hells in a deck and you can solo any mission on hardest difficulties.

I'll have to rethink my opinion of Doctor Strange, since my feelings of characters is based on how they solo in the training yard missions. Dr Strange is by far the worst - though I guess as a fully support character he isnt supposed to do well. I still think Captain Marvel is the best tank, but I think I'm only midway through the game, so that could change.

Strange definitely fares better in support, where he can do absurd things; Agamotto’s Gaze and Vapors of Valtorr are fantastic. Carol just can’t hold a candle to Steve in terms of building and maintaining block, but with mods she elevates to a better place.

I only use Wolverine for the summoning mission. He clears out those crystals pretty easy if you play him right. Outside of that I never reach for him. Ghost Rider is by far the worst character in the game. I never take him with me. Nico has come in clutch for me a few times, but like you said, it’s the luck of the draw with her. And Hunter is just cheating. Super overpowered.

Not necessarily, some are just the builds I had applied at the time of recording the video and not the definitive optimal build I settled on for each. Though for some characters like Captain America or Spider-Man, those are builds I’ve stuck with the longest. Iron Man, for example, I run two copies of Air Superiority now instead of Surgical Strike shown in this video. I’ll have a separate video for build ideas and theory.

For example, on Cap, I have 2 Brooklyn Defense, both with quick, Dig In, with +2 Heroism, 2 Best Defense, both with counter, Quick Punch, with on KO Draw 2 Cards, Shield Bounce, with vulnerable, and his super, Shield Charge, which is ridiculously overpowered if used whilst having Best Defense up. 800+ damage to multiple enemies in a line, automatically restoring full block, and drawing a card for each KO, for only 4 heroism. Sure, it exhausts, but you will have cleared out every major problem on the battlefield at this point, and still have full control of any stragglers. And this is still unmodded right now, so I am curious to figure out how to seriously upgrade it further. And to be fair, this is the same for all characters. The card modding aspect is an incredible feature of this game, and I think very possibly its strongest, and simultaneously most under-rated aspect. You can absolutely tweak every characters playstyle in ways that are individual to each player/playthrough, and very much theorycraft synergies between characters that don't necessarily work well with base-game card functions. Being able to add quicks/card draws/heroism gains/conceals/bleeds/vulnerables/weakens/etc... to just about every card in the game, regardless of their initial function, can absolutely allow every character to shine, and every playthrough to feel a little different. Genius game design.

Imagine making a tier-list and showing example abilities to back up your reasoning, all the while concisely explaining why a hero is in that tier. Literally the best tier-list out right now--I've already watched a dozen and they're all over the place except this one

I disagree with Ironman, he annoys me with the way he plays. If I want to get rid of one of his cards as it is useless in that situation, instead of dismissing it, it upgrades and wastes a redraw. So frustrating.

I have won the game using Wolverine and Ghost Rider, and is not so hard...

I disagree with a lot of this. Captain Marvel is so strong that I avoid her unless I want to play the game on easy mode. Wolverine is also phenomenal for me. Ghostrider sucked early on but a well built Ghostrider deck makes him lethal af.

I don't think you're giving ghost rider and wolverine enough credit. With a good setup and team they have saved me multiple times in hard matches. I don't like nico. She's too based on rng and tbh she's not very reliable because of this. If you could actually pick which buff/debuff you wanted to use then she'd be one of the best characters in the game. But sadly her rng based playstyle is too unreliable. And if you get screwed over by the rng on high diffs you're over

There is absolutely no consensus regarding this topic. I've seen over a dozen videos and at least as many sites listing the characters just like this, and they're all really different from one another. Some have Cpt. marvel as an S class tank. Another had her at C no joke. Same for hulk... Top of one, bottom of another. Captain also. Point is, just play what's fun and stop worrying about What's META. They're all useable, some just have larger skill curves

True, but that’s kind of the point, right? If there were a consensus, there’d be no need for anyone to make a list. It’s all subjective. Which is why I labeled my tiers the way I did.

So, wolverine is about as useful as he was in the Claremont years. Logan was a badass but he wasnt the unbeatable god they act like he is in modern comic's.

Wolverine and ghost rider problematic 💀 dude... Wolverine chain attacks and lifesteal with his skill card. And ghost riders skills go through the roof if you steal enough souls, as well heals himself.

I mostly used hunter, wolverine, iron man and Spider-Man and captain America. Ghost rider harms himself far too much. Cap marvel is just an asshole, every choice I made pissed her off.

I actually think Blade is the worst character of the game. His cards make por damage and he has to take the longest walk to apply bleed and mark enemies while Iron Man make it happens with a single card. I dont have the stomatch to spend 3 moes just to mark enemies and when it comes to higest difficult you cant affort this kind of back and forwards.

When I revisit this list after the Season Pass is completed, he’s someone who might be taking a dip from where I originally had him.
