It’s like the 90s comic War Machine. He had this black-white color scheme with a blue reactor. This is my second favorite design. My favorite is the first comic War Machine suit which didn’t had a reactor at all.

@@AnthonysCustoms he wasnt, however i think it could be the person has referenced the none foil, issue one, cover for the colour scheme. It's still incorrect, but it would be plausible.

For the question of the day - The design on the box is absolutely the design I want. Or his sentinel squad armor. I passed on this guy, for now cause I bought the (deluxe?) figure a while back, plus I wanted that unmasked head. Knowing this comes with additional hands I kinda want this copy or those hands now. He does look pretty cool, really glad they put out another version of War Machine for those that missed out and don’t want to pay the secondary market price.

It's not exactly the MvC concept art design, but close(different face plate and fully black colored legs). The in game sprite for MvC War Machine is the modular armor.

Your knowledge/background for most characters and figures you review is pretty impressive. The way you have favorite designs and are aware of most source material is quite admirable. P.s. Im about to buy a darwin figure at this point 🤣🤣

I think it's supposed to be War Machine figure from his 1994 solo comicbook series. He has blue arc reactor there. But knowing Hasbro it's probably just amalgamation of diffirent looks.

The deluxe release of this figure is great. I think the deluxe was on sale for 24.99 at Best Buy. Why they didn't include the Rhodey headsculpt with this boggles the mind.

I was a fan of the 90s Iron Man cartoon with Force Works. That’s the War Machine I like. The comic run I read in the 80s didn’t have a lot of War Machine because Rhodie was covering for Tony as Iron Man

I like the colors on this, but I already own the deluxe version with the additional accessories and silver paint; personally I prefer that color scheme. But this is good for those that missed out on it. Love the photo at the end with Rhodey pushing away Darwin 😂

You can still find the deluxe version for retail online quite easy.. So no real reason to grab this unless you like the color scheme that much over the original.

We don’t have that artwork version because they need to sell this mold at least 10 times before they do the other one we want.

I don't have him in hand , But I do want him because Tony and Rhodey are definitely best friends just like Sonic The Hedgehog and Tails are in the games, comics, cartoons and movies from SEGA, Even though War Machine doesn't come with an unmasked Rhodey head, At least the price isn't to bad, Great review Anthony.

For my favorite War Machine, the original deluxe version of this figure was exactly what I wanted, but I’d also like the MvC art design. I’ll probably pass on this one, but pick up the blue modular one. That actually is essentially the MvC War Machine because, despite the official art for the game, he was just a palette swap of Iron Man when it came to the actual sprite. And his P1 color was that blue color for whatever reason despite having a more accurate scheme for one of his other colors, similar to Venom being very blue for his P1 despite having a traditional color too. But I’d still like a figure that matched the art for MvC.

It match the MVC War Machine... just if you compared him with the art made for this game. But it doesn't look like the sprites of the game (maybe because he would look like an Ironman repaint haha).

Just throwing it out there, because the lack of these annoys me too, but I reckon you could make a set of lit up, ready to fire, sans-peg holes, repulsor hands (maybe a six pack including two to go with Modular, 2 to go with WM and 2 to go with Anniversary, or something like that). Not sure on the practicality side of it, just a suggestion.

the problem is the power source for the LEDs. unless you just mean painted hands.

@@AnthonysCustoms honestly LED hands would look incredible right? But yeah, power source is tough as you’d probably need to alter the whole figure to make it work. I’d happily buy a set of painted hands though, and suspect many more also would. It’s so frustrating not being able to pose the characters ready to fire without seeing those gaping caverns into their hands, haha.

Besides having a blue reactor and black eyes he has the same look from the 94 animated Ironman show, Black and White, which the original toy line was based off

I bloody love the War Machine character, and this figure certainly has a unique look. Question of the Day: my answer would be yes, I would fancy a War Machine figure based exclusively on the artwork, that is, the artwork featured on the packaging. I would love if Hasbro made blue version of War Machine from the cartoon. This Retro War Machine is £25 to £26 here and if I remember correctly, the previous deluxe War Machine was around £30-ish. With this I prefer the blue highlights and that they included the repulsor hands (left hand can do something else now instead of just punching), but other than that I still prefer previous release and all the stuff that was in that version. I would like if Hasbro made the gauntlets rotate for the blaster on the right forearm. Great review as always. Keep it up!

Little fun fact I saw from Lyle's Movie Files: They re-used the arms sans shoulderpads and gauntlets on the Modular Iron Man Clever!

Yellow for Legend's armor works well! A slightly off white is tough to resemble armor. Based on how the black lining on the face is, black lined areas or cell shading might have been a good choice if done correctly. You and one other are the main reviewers whom I strongly consider before getting a Legends.

Is there somewhere I can purchase the repulser blast effects?

The first release was a deluxe version which I think was $33 at the time. This one seems to be 24.99.

the color didn't bug me but it also didn't really tempt me. I had to look it up but yeah, lighter black and make the white a very light grey, red mask details, and I'd be sold. I have the original but I'm constantly scared of the silver scratching. But this and the modular armor I'll buy nearly every repaint Hasbro wants to give

If you get a chance you should review the new NECA Original Superheroes Flash Gordon and Phantom. If you say I reviewed the Defenders of the earth version of these they have been completely redone as far as paint chipping details accessories etc. I wasn't a real fan of the characters but after opening them they MADE me decide to keel them! Phantom looks as if he is gonna walk off your shelf and go kick butt.

actually this is way more acurate mvc version of war machine the only thing is the legs need to be painted black but othern than that is has many elements from the upper torso desing

It’s close enough to the cartoon, for me. Especially, for the warehouse sale.

Holy f-! I didn't believe what you said about this one being more expensive, so I just had to confirm. The base price I paid for the deluxe was $22.99 on Dorkside toys (with non pristine box. Total price $28.94). Base price for this one on Hasbro Pulse is $27.99. ($37.55 after fees/shipping). I'm done with Hasbro. Glad I didn't help fund the Ghost Rider charger.

It is based on the 90's iron man cartoon War Machine.

Its the same protocol they did with the old MU fig, the repaint got a white deco and stuck in the west coast avengers 3 pack. Sense or no sense they still seem to do some of the old MU-ML strategies.

This figure is actually the bengus drawings of war machine for MVC... Not sure why bengus drew him with the armor, but then capcom decided to just copy paste iron mans sprite and just recolor it... Or, I do know and it was just to save money and time but he would've been so much better in game if he actually looked like the warmachine in bengus's drawings for the actual marketing of the video game... Regardless, between this one and the deluxe version, the color scheme in this one is so much better imo. He just pops out more with his parts being straight white and gun metal black plus the light blue arc reactor. Cheers.

I like the last one plus I found it under the shelf for 8 bucks

It reminds me of the Iron Man 2 Milk Magazine Limited Edition Release of the Hot Toys War Machine. It's as close to that as anything else. Flat white and black.

This is based on the War Machine from the 90's Iron Man Animated Series. It's pretty spot on except the eyes and mouth should be red and arc reactor should be white

3:36 The old one was 33.99 and the new one is 27.99 (both prices from Hasbro Pulse). Also 1:03, the only differences I see on the box (vs the figure) are the blue eyes and the slightly shinier white. What am I missing there?

I wish his legs were either pinless or he had a boot swivel, him having neither really makes me annoyed by him otherwise fantastic figure in general. This one is $25 vs the previous one being $30, so if you missed out it might not be a bad grab.

I like this but it's a pass when you have the deluxe from a few years ago. Probably my favourite Marvel Legends 6 inch along with the Super Skrull Doctor Doom.

Man Hasbro atleast tries when it comes to Ironman related figures i wish they did this for all of them

So far, I'm already good with the deluxe War Machine and won't probably be looking for any more War Machines. Being very selective with Marvel Legends now.

Hasbro are very good at not quite ever getting anything accurate. Other reviewers have pointed out the figures stulidly never match the image on the box either. And they just keep getting it wrong. Half-ass everything.

It's a gorgeous figure but I already own that deluxe version that came out a while ago so I'm going to be a little picky with my money and pass on this one.

Just got the figure in the mail n idk if I should leave it on card it looks so good plus I feel like it might go up in value🤷🏻

The old deluxe was about $30 and came with all the flight effects and this is $25. The deluxe was actually on sale at Best Buy last week for $25. Considering the gasoline price is still doubled from since Biden “won” and declared war on “fossil” fuels ($1.55 in my city to $3.09 my last fill-up), this particular price isn’t as bad as some of the others. I think I might like the colors on this better than the deluxe version.

Hasbro is wasting plastic with lazy figures.
