Yep, that's why the baf one is better.

My only real gripe with this one was the lack of accessories, He should have came with a sword or a teleport effect.... or both

The figure was cool but not including his swords was a huge let down. Come on Hasbro 🤦🏿‍♂️

It’s kinda debatable being that before when the show came out we didn’t know what nightcrawler’s role is and that they would use him or that he would include swords and that the figure came out before X-men 97 was released

I resorted to buying a Starlord figure that was on clearance at Walmart solely for the cutlass. I tried reforming Nightcrawler’s hands so he would hold the sword, and was only partially successful. Ultimately I had to resort to handy tack. He looks great in a fencing pose but dang Speedball has more range of motion than this figure.

I think something that really helps this figure is that his red vest is supposed to be raised above his traps, so while the figure would have had low shoulders if it were any other costume, it actually looks accurate here.

Anthony.. I VERY MUCH appreciate that you give us a review that is not what you like personally. You do your best to evaluate & review the figures based on an objective viewpoint. So few do that which results in an overall poor review. Fans of your channel enjoy honesty. You catch some flack from others saying you’re a hater, they should recognize constructive criticism. You will also praise a figure when its justified. Keep It Up. 👍🏼

They should have used the Amazing Fantasy Spider-Man body mold like did for my custom

Imagine if Hasbro tried and used double ball pegs at the neck and torso, better engineering at the butterfly joints and hips for better range, a bendywire tail, and a sword as an accessory . It would have been perfect.

I remember him being very athletic and flexible. Not having full splits and cheeks limiting range is a bad choice.

I really like this Nightcrawler but I think in the case the RYV Spider-Man buck would have work great here. The design of Nightcrawler's suit would hide alot of that bucks issues like the small low shoulders but it would provide more natural/dynamic posing suitable for a more acrobatic character like Nightcrawler. Still a pretty good figure tho.

It seems like these animated figures were given a better budget. There’s more detail in sculpt and deco that Hasbro usually tends to gloss over. For example the sculpting on the gloves and boots. They usually would’ve just painted it over a smooth arm/leg and called it a day. I noticed that’s the case with all of these 97 figures.

I'm baffled you can't find Magneto and Cyclops, I still see them at Gamestops and Walmarts every weekend. As for Nightcrawler, I prefer the heads from the last one and bought this to put one of those alternate heads on it. You could also go the other way and take the old one and give this one his hands and sword so he is more complete of a figure. The whites aren't a perfect match on the gloves, but close enough, and unlike the older one the designs on the gloves are sculpted on, which is a huge improvement. Totally agree with your score on this one, not perfect but for recent Hasbro ML, it's astoundingly good. Great review as always! Glad to hear you were able to get a new camera.

New camera's nice. Very sharp image, good upgrade over the old one!

He needs more current figures.

This is the only xmen 97 i bought and it looks good but wish the tail was bendy like the old one i almost bought instead of this one . I only need magneto and sabretooth to complete the shelf but cant decide which to buy . I dont like magneto 97. Wish they would have gave him his bampf piece too .

He should have a sword or two but still good. Also nice to see the 60fps

Hasbro has been too stingy with the majority of the '97 figures. Hardly any accessories to speak of, lack of alternate heads, etc. These things are pretty much common practice with other lines/companies so hopefully they'll work on that in the future. Especially if there's no BAF involved. Give us something to work with, Hasbro! Good review and I agree on most aspects... but at the end of the day, I just love (Wendigo) Kurt way more.

A bendy wire tail like the oldschool 90s toybiz figure would be great. I still have the Wendigo wave version, Ill just kit bash the two for the gripping hands, swords, and alt heads. Its not ideal since now Ill have a spare Nightcrawler body but what can you do.

The original release had large shoulders that looked pretty good. I wonder why they’d give this guy smaller ones It doesn’t ruin the figure by any means but once you notice it you can’t go back

sculpted the gloves and boots for the first time in a long ass time for Hasbro, but never fail to disappoint to not include the swords that's prominently shown in the xmen 97 show.

The previous version has much deeper articulation. You should compare them side by side and you'll see that the cuts they made are deeper on the wendigo wave version. You can get better poses. But then you have pins. The new one is pinless. I decided to go with a pinless and get rid of the old one

The articulation is the same of their older release from years ago lol classic hasbro, but less accesories, it had 3 faces and sword

I'd love for accessories with these figures. Some lightning with Storm and swords for him (with hands that hold them).

Are you using new camera or you just adjust the settings? cause the quality is crisp and clear. Good job.

I like the retro-style packaging, but I don’t want the figure to actually be retro 😂. I know it’s not the worst thing ever, but I really wish they’d update the torso and waist articulation.

He doesn’t look enough like the animated version. He should have larger, brighter eyes, more shadow on his face, the hair should be completely black with some stylized blue highlights, he needs to be way shorter, and he needs two swords!

I like this figure, though a bend tail and toe joints would have been cool. 3 swords and a fart effect would have made it a win/win. Thanks for the review, always entertaining.

Nightcrawler and Colossus used to be my favorite X characters, I wonder if it had something to do with the shoulder pads? Lol

The original figure was great so the sculpted boots and gloves are a good addition. If it had ballpeg torso and neck it would be an amazing figure but i'll take it how it is.

I'm not sure if it's the settings or the figure itself, but the red on his outfit looks orange, imo. A reddish orange, but still more orange than red

I’d give it the same rating as the previous Nightcrawler since it’s not that different

I get the lack of swords, but it's not something Nightcrawler aaaaaaallllways use like Gambit staff and cards, when you think of Kurt you think in the bamf! effect, not the swords.

Can the Marvel team not talk to the GI Joe team on how to do articulation?

I'm totally biased because he's my fav xman.......x person.....whatever....I'm not a fan of the hair sculpt and really not a fan of the BS waist swivel but I love the sculpted detail at the top of the glove and boot areas rather than just being Hasbro and painting it in but I think they missed the opportunity to include 3 swords as accessories with this guy right from the show.....the accessory is already in their library of parts and would have been appropriate for the character etc. I know....I know...maximize profits....right Hasbro?? ?....right? Anyway great review good figure I'd really like to see Mafex take a run at this guy but until then one of my favorite Hasbro figures this year

The only thing I don’t care for about this figure is the headaculpt. The 3D printed ones on eBay are so much better lol.

Hasbro having to pay licensing fees and not raising the price above $25 means little to no accessories. I like the figure for a lot of reasons, but the limited range in the hips and lack of boot swivel bugs me.

Thanks for your review Anthony. So, I am able to gather from you that the one piece of advice you could give the Hasbro ML team would be to grow some balls. Big balls in some cases. Small balls are good too, when needed. How complicated could it be for one of the largest toy manufacturers to have balls? If ya got 'em use 'em!

I think Hasbro is getting better slowly but surely they are upgrading based and what’s upcoming

I do like this figure a bunch but it doesn’t hit the poses it should.

Double ball peg for neck all the way... ONLY IF Hasbro figures out how to do them. I'll take ball hinge over their usual shitty double ball peg aka "essentially a single ball peg" any day of the week.

Love this figure but hate the neck hinge! Idk why hasbro is still on this part.

The limbs don’t articulate as far as the old ones. Far less range a motion.
