Yeah I seem to recall she had a traumatic childhood in Eastern Europe and was scarred then. Like you say she used the hair to hide the scars.

Blows my mind Hasbro didn't use the same new body as Quake for this figure. Brutal!

I remember seeing Madame Hydra in the animated series where Captain America teams up with her to escape the Skrull ship along with other heroes and villians, great show and also a great review.

I noticed that Jigsaw has this on his trigger finger hand as well. Hopefully hasbro implements this for all characters going forward.

Such a disappointment with that body mold. It won’t be too long until we ask for an update of this on.

The old one has more detail like the raised gloves and zipper. But the new one just looks alot more stylish and sleek. If they added those tiny little extra details to the new one it would have been a knock out for me.

Is that what happened to my Dazzler? She’s bow-legged as all get out. Didn’t realize it was the mold

Even though I don't have her in hand, I gotta admit that her head sculpt does really beautiful while looking badass, tough, etc and she could go great against Wolverine and will go excellent or again against with classic Red Skull along with the HYDRA soilders, Fantastic review Dan.

Looks like a fun Polaris headswap

She's definitely and upgrade from the orignal but I like the originals more olive tinge, It has more venomous vibe plus the darker body suit green feels richer.

I think the new one 'aesthetically' fills nicer into a modern Hasbro collection, the old one is abit jarring now on display

She kinda feels cheap in hand. Almost felt as if she were going to break while handling her. Was hoping they would have given her the scars under her hair but, well, guess we can't have everything. I'm definitely getting another Shriek figure to put her head on and actually update her. Glad you pointed out the sculpted sleeves so I can make sure to do so with them as well as the boots.

Why does she have single elbow joint

I hope we get Baron Von Strucker at some point.

The Hellfire Guard is called ‘Hank’ he is the channels mascot, the ‘Who Crew’ is Hell Fire Hank, Frog Man, Tigra & Captain Britain 🇬🇧 if you have been watching my live streams it would make more sense, but I officially revealed Captain Britain on the channel last year so he hitting other legends I just abit of stupid fun lol

I ended up canceling my preorder for this figure even though Amazon discounted it to $17.50 at one point. The body is so dated and considering they used the old body, they could have added more accessories like a cloak, whip, alternative head. That Quake uses the Shriek body in the same wave just shows what a lazy effort this figure was. Could have easily used the Shriek body for Madame Hydra.

I always knew i liked Frogman.

Why don't Hasbro improve this body as they did to Bucky or Sunfire body, like Falcon and new Cyclops?

I really hated that fox didn't make her into an actual hydra like character like she was in the comics that version seen in the wolverine was a letdown though the closest thing we've ever gotten to a madame hydra was in the agents of s.h.i.e.l.d show that is totally non canon to the mcu.

Former wife of Wolverine??? I did not know that. This is the only figure from this wave I care about because I love her first appearance in the issues of Captain America. Why didn't they use the pinless legs for her? As for where I would be putting her, on my Cap shelf, obviously. :-)

I guess the new Shriek mould was already in use (for Maria Hill/Quake), so Viper got the old mould which I hate. The spindly legs that warp and the limited articulation...terrible. Those pistols are flimsy rubbish. The old fig's pistol looks better. I am surprised they bothered to sculpt the top edge of the gloves. Bit of a let down for a character I would've bought if on the better body mould.

Here we go again with the warped legs .... Thanks, Hasbro.

First of all, very nice review. I ordered this figure, and I am disappointed that it isn't better than it is. Hasbro dropped the ball in several places here. That's pretty obvious. IMO, those painted eyebrows are just terrible. Both are just a big, sloppy mess. Hasbro seems to think that all European female characters should have really thick eyebrows for whatever reason, but I don't concur with that. When I get my figure in, I plan on repainting her eyebrows for sure, as well as painting her lips a darker green to create a little more contrast. I think that would like a whole lot better. I really don't like those crappy guns. Hasbro keeps reusing them, and they're just garbage. I cannot believe or accept that a company like Hasbro can't find the budget to do some better pistols than these flat pieces of crap! I suppose I'm going to have to get some third party guns for her, because Hasbro can't be bothered to do decent ones that'll actually fit in the character's hands. Heh. I don't mind the hair covering a part of her face as much as you, Dan. That was Viper's look for years. The side of Viper's face that is covered by hair used to be badly scarred back in the day. I dunno if it is or not these days in the modern comic book era, but that was part of her classic look, so I'm okay with that. I don't even mind her buck so much, even though I do agree that the figure would have been better served with the updated, more curvy, pin-less female body. The most disappointing thing for me is her lack of accessories. Her costume isn't all that exciting to begin with, so it would have been great to have gotten more hands, better weapons, like better sculpted and designed pistols and/or a hi-tech rifle of some sorts. She used to wield a whip, so that would have been nice to see as well.

@@DanWhoReviews Thank you for your reply, Dan. Madame Hydra is still a figure worth having. It's better than the previous one for sure, as you noted. I wouldn't gripe and quibble about the little details so much, but lately, my wallet is feeling the sting of Hasbro's raised prices. Given the price hike on their Legends figures, you'd think that Hasbro would be going the extra mile to deliver the goods, right? A lot of other action figure companies seem to always deliver the quality, so I'm not sure why Hasbro figures sometimes seem a little lackluster or halfway committed. Regardless, I am still looking forward to this figure. I'm just particular, I guess. Probably because I've been reading comics longer than most of your viewers have been alive, and when it comes to classic comic book characters, they've been a part of my life for almost five decades. Heh.

@@lostonwallace1396 I’m in the same boat as you, I really love when they do classic comic characters and get really disappointed when they fall short due to laziness, and the fact that since figures are getting more expensive and space is limited due to the size of collections if you have been collecting for as long as we have, they kind of need to change there business model a bit they need to be more purposeful with there designs and selections, Hasbro may not think it there’s a lot of competition out there for our dollars and they have to start doing better to get it, example look at Speedball the box looks empty with out any effects dose it even come with extra hands, I have some idea’s for some speedball effects.

Man, it could’ve been 5 times better with the pinless.

Yeah it’s better but only by a slight margin. The older one was also cheaper in price and probably wasn’t that expensive on the secondary market. They phoned this one in for sure.

The Epic Heroes one was a variant for Mystique, which is why “she look lika man.” They could get away with it since the blue skin hid the features better, but once they made the Caucasian version…NOPE! 😂 Not a fan of the hair, it’s too long for the Viper I remember, who had a sharp 80s style cut above the jawline. Even trying to come up with custom ideas for this one, I can’t think of any. Maybe a Polaris variant costume? At least the older version had that zipper that might work for noob X-Man Rogue. Did Exiles’ Sue Storm Viper have similar features to this one? They could do a whole Exiles wave of Hydra thralls that would sell, esp Hydra Wolvie.

Did hasbro lose this figure in the vault and found it 20 years later and decided this was a good time to dish it out? 🤦🏿

Yeah this is rough. The old buck, I can deal with. But that hair sculpt is whack and the figure is just solid green, but none of the greens match. The one thing that needed to work, just doesn't. Maybe next time, in another 10 years.
