My favorite Marvel gods are definitely Thor, Hercules and Thunderstrike and even though this Thor is a herald of Galactus, I would consider on getting the Ragnarok Civil War ''clone'' Thor to use as a regular Thor despite having the red eyes but still, the Herald of Galactus Thor looks awesome, Great review Dan.

@@emperorkain7027 yeah, for sure. I didn’t realize he had a second helmeted look with this costume until I read the trade recently. But, glad we got this distinct look if we only got one.

The white design on his outfit is a norse rune for thor.

Another great review Dan. Really looking forward to getting my hands on this Thor but I can't help but be a little disappointed that he only has single jointed elbows and not the double elbows we get with other figures his size

Haven’t read Donny Cates Thor run yet but admittedly seeing this version of him in Fortnite is the reason I pre ordered him lol, really cool design.

The only figure I would get from this wave is the Alex Ross design Ironman for my Ironman army even though he comes by himself which I am okay with.

What's really crazy about this figure to me, is that it's the same price as Darwin. The $25+ price tag is too much for a lot of the figures that Hasbro is offering, but this one is absolutely worth buying at full retail. If we get more attention to detail and just some effort like we see in this one, I think most collectors would be pretty happy.

This is my favorite thor! Can't wait to get my hands on it, it's such a nice figure, i always loved the herald of galactus design, and when hasbro announced this BOF wave, I was so hyped

I can see this mold or parts of it such as the limbs being reused/retooled into the modern-Olivier Coipel Thor, this version of Thor is long overdue for a do-over since 2012

My favorite look for Thor is without a doubt from the JMS/Coipel run but that figure is long overdue for a redo. This new figure looks to be the best Thor figure, and I'm wondering if they will reuse the arms and legs to take another crack at it.

I hate the Marvel Legends ab crunch(Its just so ugly) so i'm glad the ball joint is being used more often.

Great detail on his costume.

They did the shoulder pads right!! Definitely gonna get him only if I see him in person.

Nice review! I wish there was more mobility in the head/neck area but still this figure looks great.

This is literally the only one I like out of the wave and now I love it, so dope awesome comic (and indirect fortntie figure also enjoyed the story line/comic from fortnite). If I had the means I would definitely buy it for sure

Great review, Dan Wasn’t planning on getting this, as it isn’t my idea of how Thor should look, even though the figure looks cool. However, having having watched this with Noah, he now wants it for his Fortnite collection and I get the BAF part!

Another great figure for Thor! By the way, that white long flowing hair kinda makes him look like Raiden from that Mortal Kombat movie.

Preordered this and the model 70 Ironman, can’t wait for these to come in. The stories and looks r modern classics lol

Between this and the Knull/Venom 2 pack, it's a good year to be a Cates fan. They'll all look great next to my Obsidian Silver Surfer. REALLY hope the Thor I get doesn't have the paint application problems I see here on that crown/tiara though.

Its a great figure if your a fan of this design

Damnit, I'm not even a huge Thor fan and I ended up with several MCU, Selects and the 80th Thor and he actually looks cool watching this. He sorta reminds me Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7 with that hair.

Thislooks way better than I thought it would. The Olivier Coipel version of Thor where he comes back from the dead and relocates Asgard to Broxton in North America is my favourite. If they re-did that with newer articulation; a ball joint at the waist and one in the chest like this and pinless double jointed elbows oh and butterfly joints for the shoulders would be perfect (and ravens) I'd be happy. Now how about an updated Odin in his gold and blue armour from the comics. A Loki based off Walter Simonson's design with the shoulder and thigh armour, and the Warriors Three.

All the 3 comic ML Thors u shown are my fav looks for the character. But the Donny Cates Thor was the Thor I was reading monthly back in the day. So that one's my fav.

Awesome figure! I wish all figures came with hidden boot cuts or ankle swivel though. Makes for more dynamic poses!

This makes me want them to reissue Thor from the Terrax wave and the cover of Thor #600. I really want the Avengers line up from around that time. Mark 37 Iron Man armor, Commander Rogers, Bucky Cap, Clint as Ronin, Hank Pym as Wasp, and reissue Jessica and Carol in their OG costumes on the newer sturdy female body.

Damn, this really makes me wish that Knull came as a single release cause I wanted him and this Thor posed, fighting each other. Love that page of Thor hitting Knull and blasting off his lower jaw, wanted to recreate that for my display. But at least I'll have this Thor still, probably my favorite Thor costume in recent years

Is this the return of the 'Who Is He' segment?!

I really do like this figure but I wish it came with an alternative head where he’s not all charged up or one wearing his helmet.

It would've been even better If he had another head sculpt with his helmet and interchangeable sleeveless arms just like in his recent look in the Thor (2020) comic run.

Fantastic offering. Well worth he price. That figure is loaded. It is striking. It has that magical elemental warrior look. It’s cool! A must have. I love how the ravens look beefy like ravens. Wish there were oversized goats out there to use. The creatures of Norse mythology are interesting. Sif and Thor look good together.

Have you tried to see how the MCU Ravager thor head looks on this body? I like the costume just not the head. Lol

Love it… up next should be ruin thor or king thor with Odin armor..

With this New bodymold, im pretty sure Hasbro would reuse some parts of it (especially the legs and arms) to make a New figure of the Thor suit designed by Oliver Coipel

I LOVE how dark, gothic and badass this Thor looks! He even has a Tolkinish charm. THAT'S what Sauron should look like in his human form! If i was Loki, i would think twice before i tried to either overthrow or murder this guy!😀

This isn't just a Fortnite skin. Thor looks like this in the first volume of Donny Cates ongoing run.

The look is AWESOME...but that face is reminiscent of the bad guy from ghost busters 2 VIGGO the carpatheon.

If Hasbro did two figures like this in every wave - 100% new sculpts, each with a bunch of relevant, unusual and unique accessories, and totally NEW iteration(s) of established characters or never previously done sculpts - no-one would care about cardboard packaging or price hikes. This is just beautiful: just look at the inside of the cape and the perfect red to purple gradient . Or the armour (it moves). And the detail. You just can’t see how good this is until it's in hand, but goddamn it...it's GOOD. And solid. No pointless Retro packaging. No deluxe price point. Just a regular, common figure - #2 of a seven figure regular ol' BAF wave - which shows that when Hasbro makes the effort, they can smash it out the park. And the rest of the wave is pretty damn good too (Quake is outstanding and only US Agent is a disappointing nod to a seven-year old Captain America sculpt (Werewolf Cap from the Red Onslaught Wave). PS. I'd rather eat this figure than play Fortnite and know nothing about this iteration of the Odinson. I got this solely because a great figure is a great figure. Wish I could say that a wee bit more when it comes to 2022 Marvel Legends.

It would be a massive missed opportunity if Hasbro didn't reuse the this figure's torso and legs to give us the other modern Thor look. They would just need to make new arm parts and new helmeted heads and maybe even reuse the MCU Jane Foster hammer piece. But for now, this will go great with the upcoming Knull.

If I can take the luxury of providing my pedigree before my comment: I have been reading Thor since the Beatles crossed the pond, yes I am addicted; ML comprises approx. 80% of my Marvel collection (I do love a good Marvel Select). Tomorrow is this old fart's birthday and Hasbro just gave me the best gift I could have ever asked them to produce. Their work on this sculpt is one of their best & I will proudly display it with Galactus, SS, Frankie, my aging Terrax (Hasbro???) and Firelord as a centerpiece with the Big G without hesitation. A slightly related note: when Hasbro does good they do REAL good, yet they aren't always perfect, and I have to state my disappointment in the advanced pics of Firelord has me very concerned. I will need convincing to alter my opinion but he will not look good beside King Thor.

I wish they would give more female characters this much attention. I feel like most of the female characters get the Viper treatment of no washes or barely get deco. I rarely see new sculpt for female figures gloves and boots. Almost never any textured details like the chain mail and its usually safe to assume they got the minimum of accessories.

Yeah gonna have to disagree on the original of his costume. This is the costume he gets when Galactus makes him his herald in order to consume 5 planets to battle Galactus former master the Black Winter. This ran in conjunction with Fortcrap for their event but this is Herald Thor not his new costume as King of Asgard that was just a coincidence!!!

Why does he keep saying if you like Fortnite your going to like this figure lmao has he read a Thor comic recently he literallly has a wall of marvel legends characters and doesn’t know anything about Thor and he says favorite fravrorite

Shouldn't this Thor's costume have a lot of stars? It should look like he's wearing a galaxy, not just plain black.
