    Marty must be the only guitarist in the world that plays a soulful clean "not showing off" solo in a heavy metal concert and the audience goes wild. Pure example of what the power of beautiful music can do, and also an answer to all those who speak down on metalheads for their tastes...

    It's interesting that even though 90s saw the decline of metal in mainstream music because of grunge and all, Megadeth still went on to reach their peak commercially and creatively. IMO.

    This is the perfect example of how improvising slow and well thought out melodies (especially if you use lots of bends) on the guitar, get a better reaction than playing fast, crazy licks all the time. But there’s always a good time to play fast so don’t stop learning how to play fast people, just know that playing slow is just as important.

    To be serious, this video filmed by truly VHS camcoder... an analog recording was transferred in digital DVD format... and compressed by youtube... so now it's really shitty quality... But in original this one is ALOT BETTER than fucking cellphone cameras!

    The first part of his solo is a song called 0-7-2 ! wow he published this album in 2003 but in this video I think that that was 1995 live in Chile!

    Marty Friedman's solo albums Introduction and Scenes are both excellent. As far as great metal guitarists go, listen to Black Sabbath and Ozzy with Randy Rhoads. Pink Floyd and Dire Straits aren't metal, but they also produce lots of great solos.

    its a song thats not released with guitar sound but with strings from Marty's Music for speeding called 0-7-2 or something. An improvisation that he used to play in live shows..apparently. lol.
