Jiří Bartoška is Czech actor had cancer says "The only way to beat cancer is to ignore it mentally." the more you think of it the more you compromise the mind and body to maintain it." But of course you have to believe the impossible becomming possible.

The interesting thing is that she had to leave Czechoslovakia to make a great career. Her last name means "coming back" return. She came back to health. :)

Totally agree! I have followed her career since I was a boy. She is my all time favourite tennis player! (or should I say Champion)!!

I am a cancer survivor, I pray she remains healthy. Martina has always been a class act and such a strong women.

Martina used to own a home in Osprey Florida and I live in Sarasota which is very close to Osprey. Martina used to workout at the YMCA where I worked part time. She was just great, so down to earth & everyone loved her. My thoughts and prayers are with her.

It’s good for others that she is so very honest about how hard it is to go thru cancer treatment.

What an icon. I watched and admired her as a junior tennis player in the 80's. She has gone so far beyond her greatness as tennis player. The parallel between her and Chris, another tennis icon, is so moving. God bless Martina and Chris both.

She was a champion champ. As a kid watching Wimbledon she was an inspiration. God bless her.x

Ignorant comment. How many men lose matches due to period pains? Men don't play in women's tennis, trans women do much to Martina's displeasure. Don't tell silly lies that you can't possibly back up! You embarrass yourself!

Beyond happy to hear the great news about Martina. The tennis community loves her with all our heart !

What a great woman Martina is, I always admired her, now she an inspiration to me. Soft spoken, courageous, down to earth, I can see all the goodness in her. The information she is given us, is so important. I have two friends that had breast cancer, one is just recovering, the other one had the cancer 27 years ago. Martina, I will pray for you tonight, you have courage and God is with you. You are going to be ok.

Thank you for sharing this interview. Very important information. I had the same breast cancer journey returned almost 20 years later second time. No throat cancer but this story makes us all feel stronger. The nurses that care for the cancer patients are super heroes.

She's not exactly intelligent to have, a)subjected herself to the poison jabs, b) to have subjected herself to the poison chemo/radiation 'treatment' all of which prevent apoptosis and cause cancer!!!

Martina Navratilova was our treasure. As a Czech, I am very proud of what this girl has achieved! I'm 26 years old and I've always looked up to her because my trainer absolutely adored her. Every time I see this name it puts a smile on my face. It is our great Czech treasure and I think that Martina regrets that she had to leave her homeland for tennis.

yes its the greatest rivalry ever in women's sport..their mutual admiration and respect is such an example... without the other, either may have won 25-30+ grand slams but i wonder if either would have been as great without the other?

Martina is just a woman to be admired in sport and in life.

I love her. She is such an icon. I am clear of stage 4 metastasised Ovarian Cancer for 2 years now and am about to have a double mastectomy in July (have the Braca gene). But am very positive and I have an amazing community around me. I am so lucky to be here and am grateful for every day!

Martina was THE most entertaining player ever in my view. Her up front attitude, her humour, her determination and down to earth character mixed with her incredible tennis talent, for me meant she was the tennis player I loved watching more than anyone else, men included.
