I miss the days when the WTA was actually worth watching

During her reign, Hingis skills beyond other women's tennis, except the athletic. The best is, she never try to built her muscle or doing hardcore exercises. She just play on her talent until her retirement.

kevstano She was completely outplayed in the third set. She wasn't remotely close to 'bringing it home'.

Huber is still the last German female tennis player since Steffi Graf to reach a grand slam final. Huber was a very good player made it to top 10 and had a solid career. The new German players Lisicki, Kerber, Petkovic, Goerges, none of these ladies has reached a grand slam final yet very surprising.

@@FlabbyTitmuss Even Graf would be unlikely. She was in low in confidence after a horrible 97 and injury layoff and this was Hingis's best court and Graf's worst.

@@richardross4677 Very true. I put Hingis as a favourite definitely, but Graf was always a tough match up for Martina and could get in her head too. Definite tension there. The one player who I would have given a good shot of beating Hingis here was Davenport, but she lost in the other semi.

@@FlabbyTitmuss True. I just dont think at this exact moment it time Graf would have been able. I think she would have a much better shot had they played in the 99 Australian Open had Seles not taken Graf out for Hingis, and even there I would have favored Hingis.
