@@Galaxy-en2iu Take into account Shot distance and shot type. The game knows when you do a skill shot or hit it from 30+ yards. The only problem is Martin Tyler screams even before the goal goes in, that's what makes it magical. You could code for that but you'll get screaming for basically every long shot and not many of them go in.

To me it's how he's able to come up with so many metaphors, phrases, and idioms nobody's ever thought of that makes him special. And to anybody asking about his home team "bias", it's for immersion. He's loud and energetic and ecstatic when the home team scored but calm and quiet and awkward when the away team scored to match the mood in the stadium. Only exception is if he commentates a game in a neutral ground and England away games.

Now I really want to rewatch some highlight packages of games he's done to gauge how accurate this is! I do think he's lost multiple steps and Sky should be looking to move on from him at this point (they've got the depth to move on from their old #1 in a way ITV really, _really_ didn't), but that first point says a lot about just how good Tyler was at his best (Peter Drury is at least as good at it - albeit a bit more overtly, almost awkwardly clever about it sometimes - and nobody else is anywhere near). Gen Z are going to forget how good he once was unless they come across, well, videos like this!

He's one of those people I don't ever want to die man. His voice is just ETERNAL!! 🔥🔥
