We recently got in the new Martin D18 and D28 satin models and we are really impressed. They retain the classic Martin tones whilst offering players a more affordable option for their standard series!

Is the satin still normal nitro finish just not polished to a high sheen

The satin series is the same thickness of finish film as gloss, but the solids content is lower. It will polish up to a sheen if you rub on it, but it won't be that deep wet look.

Satin finish wears quicker than gloss.
