Just a trivia guys, Regine did audition for Miss Saigon in 1992. She was booked a ticket to NYC to try out. She sang 2 songs in front of the London Producers and she was asked not to cut her hair anymore. She had a bobcat hairstyle back then. After about a month, she got a letter of invitation to be trained in London. She declined the offer for the reason that she didn't wanna be away from her family and that on the same year she was already patched to sign a contract with an International Recording Label. In one of her recent interviews, she then revealed that although she is a huge fan of Streisand, she never really aspired to be a broadway/west end singer. And that looking back, she admitted that it requires a harder discipline and vocal placement. Knowing herself, as an artist she spoke about her being very experimental and out of the box when it comes to her vocal talent and branding. And that she truly identifies a POP singer. That decision to go on a different path led her to becoming Philippine's National Singer. She is the Singers' Singer. And today, she still shines the most on stage. Literally there is no stopping for her. Her vocal journey continues.

I never auditioned here. I went straight to New York. I was with Jamie Rivera and Dulce. Grabe si Dulce kumanta, grabe! But me, I auditioned there. After that, Cameron told me, "Miss Velasquez, don’t cut your hair short." I didn’t really think I could do so! Then they said, "We regret to inform you..." etc.

I saw Regine live once last 2017, oh my goodness. Everytime she would belt it felt like the arena's gonna collapse. A video cannot capture even a third of her vocal power.
