Incredibly disappointed with Warner Brothers decisions. I thoroughly enjoyed Zack Snyders cut and would like to see more of what he has to offer.

He is one of my favorite characters, but seems to be on the back burner a lot.

I think he just controls the density of himself. So basically but it's not necessarily steel. He can also phase through objects so his durability doesn't really matter.

He is just as strong as Superman.

It depends on the continuity. In the New 52, fire is actually a psychological weakness. It doesn't actually hurt them Martians, they just fear it. They fear it so much that it manifests on their body thanks to their shape-shifting abilities. The reason for all that is because in the past, the Martian race was once known as the Burning Martians. They were so violent and so powerful, that the Guardians feared them discovering space travel. To prevent that, they made their greatest strength, fire, into their greatest weakness. Theres more to it, like splitting Martians into the greens and whites too.

J'onn's TK is so precise that he separated gold particles from sea water when he first arrived on Earth as a means of acquiring money. In the Other Abilities segment, you left out his detective skills. His name says it: he was a manhunter (detective) on Mars. In fact, he used those skills to get his first job on Earth, a detective named John Jones. He later adopted a lot of other identities all across Earth (even a cat). As part of his Martian vision, he also has X-ray vision. You forgot that. His costume is not a part of him like other shapeshifters (Durlans, Skrulls, etc.). It's actually a Martian lifeform that's almost like a pet, responding to his thoughts to shift along with him, either becoming whatever clothes he needs or becoming invisible. Martians also have super-speed. They are not as fast as Flash or Superman, but they are close. This was revealed when White Martians showed up on Earth. It's also how J'onn can get around the planet as fast as he can. He also has a high degree of invulnerability; again, not at Superman's level, but more so than Wonder Woman. Of course, this is ineffective against fire, which affects his mind as well as his body. Superman once said that there are around five people who he'd be afraid to fight in open combat, and J'onn was at the top of the list. He further said that Martian Manhunter was the most powerful being on Earth. Sorry. Big comic book geek here.

@@nkemnoraulmanfredini7286 Yes. I've sometimes wondered why DC came up with the Martian Manhunter, who is almost a copy of Superman, basically giving themselves two "supermen." Then I remembered that MM was created when DC was doing a lot of space adventures and space-related heroes. While Superman's origin technically makes him a space-related hero, he looks human and he was raised on Earth as a human. However, J'onn doesn't look human (unless he wants to), and he was raised on Mars, making him more of an alien than Clark. So this makes him more of a space-related hero than Superman.

I think he is more powerful than Superman, he has powers that Superman can't stop such as mental powers. I have a book where he took on the Justice League by himself.

@@ololo940Depending on the continuity, generally it’s other super powerful white Martians that wipe out his planet in a war… I mean imagine a war on earth where the soldiers were all as strong as Superman… if anything it’s shocking Mars is in tact. Other continuities a mental fire virus (sometimes created by Darkseid) jumped from Martian to Martian killing them whenever they used Telepathy. Only J’onn had the will power to stay isolated until he was the last one.

Once you see all the powers that DC comics has given the Martian Manhunter, the less you want him around. Making him omnipotent makes him uninteresting. Even Superman has been toned back from the comic version to make him more useable in the current comic and movie enviroment. He was more interesting as a pale verion of Superman with a FEW abilities to make him different. I hope we never see him on the big screen if they give him all the abilites mentioned. And his kryptonite is "fire"? Puh-lease.

@@jplegend98 It's just lazy/poor writing and we all know nothing is on Mars. It's not a planet that capable of sustaining life. And humans are able to get there. It's also too small for a race so powerful; Mars is smaller than Earth. Not to mention, they're a race that's intellectually equal to the Kryptonians (possibly smarter). So why would they stay on Mars???

I agree. MM is a very childish name. They should make the revamp/origin story such that MM was mistaken for a Martian when in fact he was from an entirely different galaxy / Mars but in a parallel universe.

Either he awakens from hibernation from humans poking around on Mars, or usually in comics he gets transported across time & space.

He gets accidentally teleported across time & space to Earth. (Or occasionally he’s been hibernating on Mars to keep something evil at bay should they escape).
