Top 10 Badass Superman Scenes

Ойын-сауық

Superman is not just a dude from Krypton. He's bigger than everything he stands for - he's the man of steel! Without a doubt the most popular hero that has come alive from the pages of comic books in the last century, Superman has gotten more cinematic representation than anyone else. While it's believed that he's more of God with kickass powers, which he does by the way but that doesn't take anything away from the man underneath the suit. So today we're not gonna talk about the 687th time Superman punched, laser beamed, frosted, or swung away villains from oblivion in fights - today we're gonna talk about the badass moments that make Superman so super!
This list is just my opinion so feel free to let me know about your thoughts in the comment section below.

Person who talks in the video. You're ignorant about the "save Martha" scene. Stop fitting in the crowd of "that scene was gay". You should know way better than that. Superman thought batman was gonna kill him and before he died, all he could think about was his mother who lex was gonna kill. It was just pure coincidence that batman mom was named Martha as well. Why didn't you understand that? At least when you make a video, dont diss the scenes that you are ranking as badass.

My favorite Superman scene is from Man of Steel. When he's forced to kill Zod in order to save the family who are about to be burned. The agony and pain in his scream was hauntingly beautiful. The same in in the UK. I was 10. The moment I never experienced before in a movie. Superman caught Lois falling from the Heli and she said "if you've got me, who's got you?". When he caught the Heli in one hand and holding Lois in the other, I tell you the entire audience applauded and we're still doing so until he gently placed the chopper on the roof. It took our breath away. My neice couldn't stop talking about Supes not only catching up with the jumbo jet but they way he put it down in the baseball stadium. Her little face lit up and I remembered my 10 year old self. But when he picked up that cancerous chunk of Kryptonite, I couldn't get enough of the displays of mega strength. This scene, well I just watched the bullets bouncing off and the eye shot. I just didn't expect that his eyes are bullet proof too.

Spot on with the number one. Can’t really put into words quite how the audience reacted to that first scene of Superman catching Lois and then the helicopter. It was magical. Cheering, wild applause, laughter..just a fantastic moment in cinematic history. Another great, great sequence is when Luthor communicates with Superman through the ear piercing, high frequency soundwave. The sequence where Reeve jumps out of the window, changes into Superman and then does that glorious sweeping arc is, in my opinion, the single best flying special effect in any Superman movie, of any era. There’s just something really special about that shot that elevates it above all the later cgi effects. Add in Gene Hackmans brilliantly dry voice over and that’s another classic scene, in a movie that’s packed full of them.

One scene that stuck out for me was in Returns. Supes was heading out to sea to find Lois but realized there was a huge fissure heading towards the city. For a moment you saw him hesitate… save her now or head back and save millions in Metropolis leaving her at risk. You saw the love he had for her but also the responsibility of being Superman.

What I didn’t like about the helicopter scene, is that Clark leaves the building and realize there’s a commotion, crosses the street and changes to Superman. Then flies off. The problem is that they make it look like he’s miles away and the Daily Planet has hundreds of floor, or Superman was flying extremely slow. Also, would the spot where Superman is holding the helicopter be strong enough to support the weight of the helicopter? It’s like the plane crashing scene where Superman stops the plane from crashing in the baseball field. Would he really have been able to stop the plane or would the whole thing just disintegrate around him?

I agree with almost all the moments mentioned. However, I myself would have ranked a sequence not mentioned into the top 10: In “Superman Returns” when he saves Metropolis near the end. We see him use almost all his powers in one sequence alone. Faster than a speeding bullet? He flies super fast from the ocean into the city to save civilians when he first uses his x-ray vision to see the ground under the ocean opening towards the city. With that speed, he flies in to first stop the Daily Planet’s humongous globe statue from crumbling many people on the street. Then as he flies through the city, Superman notices glass falling so he flies upside down and uses his heat vision to break down the big pieces of glass into smaller pieces so that the people won’t get cut. Superman then notices fire coming from under the pipelines in the city, heading towards a gas plant. Superman flies underground, faster than the fire, stops in front of the gas company and blows cold air towards the fire to put it out. C’mon man, how was this sequence not in the top 10?

Actually one of my all time favorite Superman scenes in any of the movies is the deleted "Return To Krypton" scene in Superman Returns, where he flies a crystal ship all the way there just to almost die as he finds a blown out shell of a planet with a vast amount of Kryptonite everywhere in the debris.

I love the scene in Superman Returns when Routh's Superman is floating in space listening to everyone on the planet.Having to deal with hearing everyone's thoughts holds so much responsibility. Routh was a good Superman, plus,I have met him, and he's nice in real life.

I'd like to add 3. 1) Superman actually doesn't know how to fight. In Superman 2 after Clark gives up his powers, he gets his @$$ kicked. That was amazing. Why would Clark know how to throw up a block, dodge a punch or watch his back? As Superman, he could stand there and let any human break their bones trying to punch or kick him (as he does later). But the scene where poor helpless Clark gets beat up easily is amazing. 2) Superman 2- When Zod breaks into the White House, the President kneels and says "What I do now I do to protect the people of the World... but there is one man on Earth who will never kneel before you." That gave me chills. Even a world leader respects his power and what he means to the human race. 3) Man of Steel- when Zod takes off his helmet for the first time and his senses are bombarded. Clark has had years to get used to dealing with his super senses, it's a great scene to see how this affects another Kryptonian fresh off the boat. I often wondered why superman used doors at all, how does he tone down his xray vision to see a thin wall or another obstacle in his way?

I am a Superman fan and i would not go so far as putting Man Of Steel as one of the best comic book movie. The movie gets Superman's power levels right but gets Clark Kent wrong, Superman is beloved not because of his powers, it's because of Clark Kent. He is not an alien trying to find his way in a new environment, that's Supergirl. Superman is a guy who despite all the powers he has, he still chooses to do the right thing. He inspires and he gives hope. Like Dean Cain Superman once said "Superman is what i can do, Clark is who i am".

@@sehun2193 spot on. The current guy makes for a great Superman but a horrible Clark. He doesn’t play the two any differently from each other. Clark needs to be a clumsy nerd in order for everyone to not see who he is and Chris Reeve did it best.

George Reeves was my first introduction to live-action Superman. I grew up, though, with Christopher Reeve. I loved them both as Superman, and I thought Christopher was the only Superman icon. Then Henry Cavil appeared in Man of Steel, and I was blown away at how perfectly cast he was for the role. Despite my childhood attachment to Christopher, my internal Superman icon has evolved to be Henry. I was shocked to find out he won't be reprising the role.

When you look at how overpowered Superman is he is the most logical choice. But I’ve always wanted to be Spider-Man so I can Web Swing, leap across rooftops, do cool flips and acrobatics and have spider sense, a power which borders on precognition. That would be so much fun. Flying is of course more practical than web swinging but it isn’t as cool or flashy in my eyes. Superhuman strength and speed of course would be a nice bonus but of course Sups would have me beat in that department. Still though I wouldn’t want to accidentally destroy the Earth by sneezing or something. I feel like having Spider-Mans powers would be less stressful for that reason. The only real reason I would want Superman’s powers is so I could travel to other planets or anywhere in the universe in the blink of an eye. I’m currently studying astrophysics, so it would be a dream come true if I could explore the universe like Superman can.
