In this fight scene, Kurt Sloane couldn't fight back as much at the first part of the fight, because his brother was taken hostage by Tong Po's men, to make sure Kurt didn't win. So when you saw that guy whistling, that was his brother Eric Sloane to get Kurt's attention to fight the way he was trained to defeat Tong Po. Kurt's brother Eric, was the one who fought Tong Po in the beginning of the movie and was too cocky, thinking kickboxing in Thailand was just the same in America and Tong Po viciously beats Eric and leaves him paralyzed. Kurt wanted to seek revenge on Tong Po for what he did to his brother.

Yeah, it spoiled the analysis a bit that he didn't know the plot and the hostage situation.
The gentleman that you see licking the blood that splattered on his face is an actor by the name of Lee Ka Ding. He has done mostly antagonistic roles in action movies, specifically Hong Kong movies. As a stuntman, he's performed quite a few stunts back in the day in Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung's movies. Dragons Forever was one of them if I recall correctly. Recently he's been doing less stunts and transitioned into being a celebrity cook with multiple restaurants and a tv show in Hong Kong.
good to see some JCVD on the channel. love his older movies. he was the reason i started kickboxing when i was younger.
Van dam was the man.. he has the best kicks in the game… very controlled… great vid
Man, you should do "The Quest" It's basically the same movie, TBH, JCVD fights in an international martial arts tournament, where one fighter from each country is invited to compete. But it has sorts of different styles, with each style supposedly representing a country. Very silly, but very fun,

I would say "The Quest" is closer to "Bloodsport," but definitely another JCVD classic

Yeah, "Bloodsport" is another one.
You have to love these old jcvd fights. The flex after the punches etc 😂 But like you said damn jcvd could kick, and his control and balance is sick

1 year late to this train, but I think the movie that shows Jean-Claude's best kicking display is the final fight in the uncut version of No Retreat No Surrender. It could be due to the fact the movie had a 80's Hong Kong style production where they used less cuts and without overdoing the slo mo shots. Kickboxer and Bloodsport are fantastic but the choreography is way more stylized and the moves extremely telegraphed with loads of slo mo. For the camera though, his moves in these 2 movies do look great. You could tell he had a ballet background.
In basically all Van Damme movies he gets his butt kicked but then comes back and wins. It's just some weird thing his character almost always faces. It builds up this drama and really gets you cheering for him. Lionheart would be a great film to check out. It's basically like a Street Fighter game..very neat and a damn good film.
I recommend checking out some of the fights in The Quest or Universal Soldier The Return seeing the fight between JCVD and MJW. These two were my first JCVD movies.
Classic, lived this since I was a kid when seen in the early 90’s. He’s my favourite 360 kicker for sure. Check out his others like Awol, Bloodsport, Hard Target, Cyborg and many more
Wait...hold up...this is your FIRST reaction to JCVD? Okay, you need to watch Van Damme vs Scott Adkins Full Final Fight from Universal Soldier: Day Of Reckoning. You know that dude Francis from Deadpool who feels no pain? That's these guys, it's brutal.

Yeah, I like this fight a lot
The Fact that that Dennis Alexio playing basically himself was brilliant
Great reaction as always...I'm still surprised gong shou dao hasn't been viewed as its a tribute to martial artists...the actors in it play there best characters to date
That was great to watch! Can’t wait to see more!
That Ramon Dekkers t-shirt is fire, man! I think I watched this fight before training Muay Thai and I couldn't appreciate it as well as I could have. Thank you for this reaction video! I'll be rewatching JCVD movies now.
The ropes were slowing his kicks down lmao
If you liked this fight i recommend the Michael Qissi vs. Sasha Mitchell fight from Kickboxer 2 Sasha is a black belt in Taekwondo and does an amazing job
One of the best movies of Van Damme where he was playing the major role. And definetely he was in extremely cool shape in that movie. Perfect.
Nack Suk Coa - White Warrior. And yes, seeing you react to some of the fights in Bloodsport would be awesome.

Its actually spelled "Nak su Kow", not "Nack Suk Coa"
Oh man! The best thing about JCVD is that he’s super legit with his skills as a kickboxer and a karateka so you know his moves are good. Here are my next recommendation from the film Man of Tai Chi, Tiger Chen Vs MMA Fighter/Jeremy Marina: kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z6GVs5ahm7GrpbA.html Tiger Chen Vs Shaolin fighter/Ocean Hou: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gGaEzNGNp9izlpc.html
The audience killing JCVD for rigging the fight is hilarious
JCVD learnt to block at the same gym as Rocky.
That really is Belgium's ass. JCVD's kicks are always pretty. They are just so slow. I guess he wanted a defining trait for all his fight scenes though.
Nuk Su kow (however it is spelled) allegedly means “white warrior”.
The thing to remember about the fight is that the reason Kurt was getting beaten so badly in the beginning is because they had his brother hostage. So as soon as he realized his brother was free, he cut loose.

That's what I just commented. It had nothing to do w the ropes. He wanted them off because he wanted to honor the traditional way of fighting
PLZ PLZ PLZ you HAVE to do more JCVD scenes, especially his first role in NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER, also others like BLOODSPORT!
Kickboxer was made in 1989, the way the crowd shouting translating "White Warrior" and he's truly Belgium!
Thanks for the reaction
You should definitely review Snake vs Ocelot fight, it's so good. A lot of CQC, Judo, Kickboxing and just overall great choreography and TESTOSTERONE
The guy who plays JCVDs brother in this was actually a legit fighter and was some sort of world champion. Who I believe is now in prison for tax evasion I think.
I’m only 18 years old but I do agree. The 80s movies are better than the movies we have now.
Check out the fight scenes from Hard Target, he's got some good ones in there too. And Universal Soldier: The Return against Micheal Jai White final fight
YAY first JCVD fight
Спасибо за реакцию))
I have a question actually if 2 boxers 1 mastered the hitman style the other mastered the philly shell how do you think the fight will turn out because I'm kind of writing something where those 2 characters fight
Please check out the hallway fight in Resident Evil: Vendetta, Chris & Leon vs Zombies. Gun Fu, you'll like it. It's from the animated series that follows the video game characters on missions between the games, not the live action movies with Alice.
Thanks!
BLOODSPORT and KICKBOXER
u forget one jcvd also was a black belt in kickboxing too were he got his 2nd dan black belt at age 18
The 'Nuk Su Kow" part was explained in the movie. Being translated to "white warrior". Not sure about how to write it in Thai though. And if it even means that irl.
8:14 that's Thai for "White Warrior"
For some top shelf cheese, there's always the American Ninja movies! Probably not much to break down though. lol
Donnie Yen Battle VS Gangsters | Big Brother 2019 nice kicks and a good laugh
the reason to like this video is I've been looking for the explanation how van damme beat tong po by cutting those gloves off......
Definitely Bloodsport. Fight choreography there is awesome, especially when JCVD is in the ring. I still cannot get over how good his moves are.
Check out the JCVD vs. Michael Jai White fight from Universal Soldier The Return. It's lit!
You're just enjoying self.
hey max do you think you could show some real life sparring if you do any sparring? i think it would be a fun experience for all of us, you get to see what you need to work on and we have fun listening to ur analysis

I can do that! I don't have too many guys to spar with at my gym unfortunately (they're all relatively new) but I am fighting in September and we will definitely be reviewing that one. Should be fun

@@BurridgeMartialArts604 Amazing, also if many people are new I think it would be great to probably train them on camera (with consent ofc) excited to see you fight my man!
The Grandmaster, train station fight
it wasn't that he had trust in the hand wraps it was that Kurt's (Van Damme)brother was being held captive and Kurt was told to lose the fight or his brother dies but once his brother shows up after being rescued and he says (Nok Su Kow) a name given to him there by Thai people meaning White Warrior
Ip man vs 10black belts
Let's talk about that bodybuilder physique he had.. goddamn he was a super fit guy..elite muscle insertion and everything..
Have you done a Blood sport review?
of u watch the part were he had a kickboxing match in the movie they called him that and it means white worrier
Nuk su kao means white warrior. Watch the movie in it's entirety. It tells you what means in his 1st fight in muay thai.
Look at Ip Man vs General Miura from Ip Man 2008
8:35 , cutting the ropes off didn’t just helped him fight back. Prior to that scene, the hero character finds out the villain fighter has raped the girl who was cutting the ropes. That’s what helped the Van Damme character get more riled up (btw, the actor is from Belgium).
JCVD is the only one that will flex his muscle in every fighting move, and his kicks are amazing. I like all of the JCVD movies that I have watched so far. You should react to this fight next: Tawanchai vs Sean Clancy. I want to hear your comment on the technique used in the fight. kzread.info/dash/bejne/oISZ3KWleK6rlrg.html
For grins and giggles, now you need to watch the fight scene from Hot Shots Part Deux that parodies this fight as well as Rambo 3. 😁 kzread.info/dash/bejne/npOJttGFdru1g7Q.html
Not a movie or show, but I would like to hear your commentary on a manwha called "how to fight/viral hit". Its a story about how a weakling lears how to fight by watching KZread videos explaining how to beat each type of fighter.
The meaning of the crowds chanting means White Warrior.
Here’s one match you should check out levius vs malcolm from the show Levius on Netflix I think it has the most smoothes it’s like with ippo but with steampunk style in good old fantasy version of England
I take it you didn't watch the full movie but nox su cow (I so didn't spell that right) meant White Warrior. Btw Dennis Alexio who plays Eric Sloan was an amazing American Kickboxer (70's - 90's American Kickboxing that stressed kicks to the midsection and head). While I'm more of a fan of Dutch Kickboxing I wish Kickboxing as a whole was bigger in the US.

I haven't watched the movie unfortunately! It's in my huge backlog though! I am surprised kickboxing and Muay Thai are not more popular in north America, especially considering anytime they hit the floor in MMA all the casual fans are yelling 'stand them up'. You'd think kickboxing and Muay Thai would be perfect for them. Dutch kickboxing especially because of the incredible pace

@@BurridgeMartialArts604 go to Fighters First KZread channel and search for Episode 3 of Kicking It. They talk about why they think Kickboxing isn't big in the U.S. MMA is big here mainly for Wrestling, BJJ & Boxing. With the exception of Boxing the average MMA fan here doesn't watch BJJ, Wrestling (well they only watch High Schoolers) Muay Thai & Kickboxing matches. Also you rarely find amature or local Kickboxing competition matches here. You do find a lot of local Kickboxing events in specific states like Florida, North Carolina and Nevada (I think Texas is starting to hold more Kickboxing matches). But in general Kickboxing & Muay Thai isn't popular in the U.S.
Blooodsport forsure 🔥
Please do John pilgrims fight scene in the punisher
Next time react to The Quest
The nuck soo cow thing he said I believe in the movie, he said it meant white worrier I could be wrong, though.
NUK SUKAU (White Warrior)
NUKSUKOW - WHITE WARRIOR
One full contact knee to the kidney area and youre out..
check out hydra fight scene, a japanese movie. pretty cool fight scene fight. its on youtube.
Wait so he never seen this movie or other JCVD movies?!? Cuz didn’t know why he was losing or what the people were chantin

No I haven't seen this one! I have seen a couple JCVD movies over the years (bloodsport, no retreat no surrender) but not a lot of them. This was really fun to watch though and yes I know it's a legendary movie, I just don't watch many movies
You think you know a lot, no, that's twice , third means over.
1989
I have a great movie for you to checkout Lady Bloodfight. Female fighters just going all out. Sick as hell bro you will love it.
U didn’t watch the movie 🤷♂️ 😂
What I always hated about this fight... JCVD has glass on his hands. When the bad guy is keeping him far by grabbing his hair, all he has to do is a glancing uppercut on the inside of his arm. Humeral artery torn, 20 seconds of conscience, 40 seconds of life.

They held his brother hostage and told him to let Tong Po "punishes him all the rounds" or they will kill his brother.
Nok Su Kao means "white warrior".
"White Warrior"
watch the movie bro he was holding back because they had his brother abuducted and they said even before the fight started that if he wins that his brother would be killed he was holding back the whole fight till his brother screamed and announced to him that he was free go all out .....jeeze noob reaction
JCVD vs...? This is not Michael Qissi !!!!!!!

White warrior this not su kau means ;)
Weird you're doing this, in real life to knees done. no this awesome. (Not a Real Fight, over).
Hahahahahaha Yes, rigged fight and thats why JCVD and his "brother" do not return for the second, third and fourth movies hahahaha Just like Bloodsports, he starts the franchise then lets it fly on its own ludacris 90s sequel mania xD

Actually if you saw the second Kickboxer movie, it was revealed that kickboxing brothers Kurt and Eric Sloane have been killed by Tong Po in Thailand, shortly after his loss to Kurt. David Sloan, the last surviving brother, struggles to keep the family's Los Angeles kickboxing gym afloat. Xian Chow, the Muay Thai Kru who trained his brother Kurt in Thailand visit's David to train him to fight Tong Po. Xian reveals to David that the main reason he is helping him, is because Tong Po had also murdered his niece Mylee along with David's brothers. He guiltily admits that part of him wants revenge for her death, and is willing to sacrifice David to get it.
White warrior
Very much dislike!!
You talk to much!!!
Bro the reason Kurt wasn't kicking in the previous rounds had nothing to do w the ropes. He had to throw the fight. He was told he needed to endure the punishment in order to get his bro back. He cut the ropes because he wanted to fight the traditional way, the way he was trained
