Martial Arts Instructor Reacts: God Of High School - Jin Mori vs Han Daewi
The main protagonist is Mori Jin, a 17-year-old martial artist from Seoul, South Korea.[4] At the beginning of the story, he is invited to join a Martial Arts tournament called "The God of High School" (or GOH). The event, sponsored by a shady corporation, brings together people from high schools all over South Korea on a regional and then, national level in order to select three representatives for the World Tournament. As a prize, the winner gets his wish fulfilled by the hosting corporation, no question asked.
This intrigues Mori, and as he continues through the tournament, he meets many competitors each with a different way of fighting. Martial arts aside, participants fight by using "Borrowed Power", a mystical energy granted by supernatural entities (gods, demons, mythical creatures....), hence the name Borrowed Power. During the opening rounds, he comes across two other martial arts prodigies: Full-Contact Karate expert Daewi Han and epeeist master Mira Yoo. These two would befriend Mori after their fights with him, and will become teamed together as the Korean Team after the preliminary rounds. As the tournaments preliminary rounds finish, and teams assemble, plans for many different people within the organization, and those pitted against them begin to make their moves to achieve their goals.

The manhwa is way better. They literally compressed 100s of chapters in 12 eps. Mori uses tae kwon do and dwaei uses kyokushin karate(They changed it to full contact in anime prob due to copyright issues).

One lil thing that ticked me off of the anime (besides how they super compacted the story but, understandable) is that they didn't quite know how to animate the 3 stage hoechook, they made it look like 3 subsequent kicks on the same side when is one on the temple, one on the opposite cheek bone and the third on the back of the head since the idea is to shake the brain

@@LeoJay lemme give you perspective: Imagine you just read Naruto to give an example of a mele technique, you read Gaara vs Lee, they show you a technique where Lee kicks Gaara into the air, wraps him with his bandages, and smacks him against the ground shouting "Leave village hidden lotus", you want to see it animated, want to see the studio do it justice, you get to the anime and Lee just sneaks behind Gaara and normal suplexes him, according to your logic, there's nothing wrong since they are professionals they did nothing wrong. If that had happened, would it have been well depicted? No, was it a bad animation?, No, i never said they do a bad job animating, is just that technique is way flashier in the webtoon, flashy display they showed they can make on the Daewi vs Mori fight, is just that, to my point of view they didn't do justice to the technique, don't believe me?, Go check the Webtoon, and compare how they are depicted, of you liked the story you'd do yourself a favor, cause you get to see what they skipped, and you get to see what's next

When the head rebounds off the first kick at high speeds. it meets the second kick from the opposite direction, the combined speed and momentum of the head rebounding off the first kick at high speeds combined with the kick crashing against the moving head with a tremendous amount of force, creating an even greater collision and shaking the brain even more

So much context in the fights is left out and in the story and some key events were changed here as well…for example Jin Mori Triple kick is a signature move of his but here they just show it in real time as a blitz move not breaking down what he’s actually doing when he does it which is cool to see.*

The attacks Han Daewi did was: Basaltic fist also known as Fist of the black tortoise in the anime which is a strong and explosive punch meant to counter and disrupt an enemy's attacks, the second attack was Phoenix kick or Vermillion bird in the anime which stomps the ground to send a powerful shockwave to offset the opponents balance, the 3rd attack was a combo of kicks and punches meant to break through an enemy's defences though the anime just animated as repeated left and right punches. The first three attacks set up a powerful gust of wind around the user with the final 4th attack taking control of the powerful gust of wind and directed it into a blast of air.

renewal taekwondo is not really taekwondo, the round kicks are actually hook kicks and reverse round kicks. And it relies on speed and takes up a lot of energy. So if someone were to use it in a real battle, it would work, but you would get tired real quick if you didn't know how to use it. Renewal is quite simple to use if you understand it. If you read the webtoon, you will see these moves in a simpler way of understanding how to do them. Like 3rd Stance Hwechook (or Triple Kick in the anime) is just a hook kick to each side of the head and then a round kick to the back of the head. It is used so that you can knock your opponent to the sides and if they were to move backwards to dodge, the round kick to the back of the head takes care of that. And that is a small explanation of renewal taekwondo.

Halloween themed suggestion: Resident Evil: Vendetta - Chris & Leon vs Zombies It's from the animated RE series and follows the video games far better than the live action movies. This fight scene features some excellent Gun-FU animation that will make you say "John Wick: The Animated Series? Hell yeah!"

There is a webtoon.A lot is fantastical but thr remains enough hand tohand combats and they are on that level. if a lot gets more magical. But its better. Also the breaker. And my favourites martial art spots sries, karate kohinata kohinata minoru that starts, it becomes fast a good mma story thats simoultasly fun but realistic grounded. Except mutou, there its grounded in zeechniques, its really good. and funny, and good characters .

When I saw trailer of this anime, I was really excited. The first episodes looked great ... and then people started shooting fireballs, sharks, atomic bombs ... and gods at each other.

honestly? im fine with that. They did the first half focusing traditional martial arts really great. Then they started shifting to Charyeok which was confusing at first but the fight scenes were awesome. So many different arts and styles. Personally I really enjoyed it.
